Housemate (2)

She was startled out of her reverie by Sasha waving her hands in front of her face. Within just 2 months, Sasha Colt became a permanent fixture in her home. When the intern became comfortable living with her, she started calling her Ara since Aurora was too long to pronounce as she puts it.

Sighing, she asked the excited girl,

"What is it this time Sash? I swear, if it's another attempt to adopt a mutt, I will put a collar on you instead"

"Well, if it's pink with sparking diamonds then I would be happy to wear it" Sasha replied cheekily. With a mischievous grin, she continued. "No. it's not about the puppy. And we're not done talking about that by the way." Sasha pouted while saying that.

Shaking her head and smiling, Aurora asked what it was then. Sasha suddenly shoved something in front of her. Arching a brow, Aurora took it.

"And what's this? An envelope?"

"Of course it's an envelope" Sasha rolled her eyes. "Look what's inside"

She was just opening it when Sasha exclaimed:

"Oh, Ara! It finally arrived. I'm sooo excited. I can't believe that we actually got it. I mean, a lot of people entered it and I was losing hope, but it finally arrived. Oh! I'm so excited!"

"What in the world are you talking about Sash?

"We won!"

"Won what?"

"The contest for an all-expense paid, 7-day trip for two to Luchland! What else?!"

The girl was beyond giddy and Aurora is just as confused as when Sasha started talking.

"The what now?"

"The contest I told you about last week, remember? I said it would be nice to go on vacation for a bit and that it would be perfect since you get your paid-leave in 3 days which is why I've been working my butt off for the past week and practically living in the hospital pantry so that my application for leave will be approved. Remember?"

She did remember how Sasha took those shifts making her work close to 24 hours everyday for the past week. And vaguely remember about a contest. So that's why.

Back then, she thought it would be a far chance that they'd win so she just agreed. It seems it wasn't such a far chance after all. And looking at Sasha's hopeful expression, she couldn't deny her this. This girl just became a close friend without her realizing it. But she isn't regretful about that.

"All right. All right. What are the details about this trip?"

Sasha suddenly exclaimed in joy and pulled her into a hug. Animatedly, Sasha explained that it would be a trip to one of the oldest cities of the old world where castles and forests where carefully maintained and preserved for cultural value.

It's a seven-day trip with an itinerary that will allow the visitors to see the part of the land that's open to the public in its entirety. Everything is paid for, even the flight. What's more extravagant about this is that they wouldn't be staying in just one hotel.

Since the land is quite big and for maximum comfort and enjoyment, their accommodation is different every day. They would also be wearing traditional dresses and modern conveniences like gadgets are not allowed during the tour except when they're back in their hotel room, to add more to the feel for the old times.

Aurora wanted to spend her leave on her new research but she thought a vacation would also be good. They both deserved one after all. She just hoped everything would go as planned.
