7 Prince Titus’ Colors

The hallway was deadly silent as the prince wiped his blade against the body the the man lying on the floor.

Titus then looked forward narrowing his eyes to the guard who was still alive.

"I'm sure you will spread the word that only I can give my concubine punishments. I don't want other men touching her. Do you understand?"

The guard quickly nodded his head realizing the prince was surprisingly sparing his life for the night.

Realizing that nothing was happening, the guard immediately turned toward the maids and servants with a disapproving scowl.

"What are you doing? Clean up this mess! This is your job!" Came the guards command.

Quickly and quietly, the staff started to pick up the dead body and clean the floor where blood was spilt. They then tried to keep to themselves not wanting to receive the princes wrath!

Eventually when people started to disperse, the prince eyed Mia's two escorts pointing his blade at their chests. "Is it so hard to bring her to me? Were you going to allow someone to touch what is mine?! Are you two so incompetent to follow my simple request? I have men on the battlefield who would be better equipped for your job." He sneered making the girls jump in fight.

Isabella and Nica were shaking as they eyed the floor. Silently they were praying that the prince would spare them, but the prince seemed to be bloodthirsty.

"They couldn't override the guards your highness!" Came a voice from behind the prince.

The two escort's eyes went wide looking at the blonde who just spoke out of turn. The prince did not include her in his discussion which meant what Mia did was almost unforgivable.

Slowly, with the same calm composed expression, Titus faced the beautiful green eyed women.

He then studied her appearance noticing how the black dress fit her body perfectly and how the diamonds in her hair made her look like a noblewoman. She still had fear in her eyes, and the Devil felt a bit of annoyance that this girl was not more composed in her manners. She was going to be troublesome if she didn't behave.

But seeing her in his colors made the annoyance disappear. The color of black was a contrast to her smooth milky skin and blonde hair making her by far the fairest maiden he had seen.

"Please your Highness, this is my fault." Mia pleaded with the man hoping it wouldn't fall on deaf ears. She could see a calculated look within his eyes. She wondered if he was going to punish her right away for speaking to him first. She then felt like an idiot breaking a rule Isabella instructed her about!

She quickly composed herself standing straight looking at the floor, but no movement was made toward her. She then glanced back up to see the prince already gazing at the two maids.

"Leave." Came his cold command.

When the room was cleared, Mia felt as though the walls were closing in on her. Being alone with the prince caused her anxiety to go to an all time high. She kept her eyes fixated at her feet waiting for something dramatic to happen.

"You are not well versed Amelia. Learn your place because some are not so forgiving to your mistakes."

Mia slowly lifted her gaze seeing the prince looking at Ryder who stayed by her side protectively.

"I find it interesting how my wolf finds you not fit to be a sacrifice or to be punished. Seems you have somehow charmed him. Tell me Mia, did you use some kind of magic on him?" He lifted his head directly to Mia after saying this.

Not knowing what to say, Mia kept quiet not wanting to upset the man. Did he honestly expect her to be a witch?

"You'd be a dumb witch with doing something like that. Easily caught and easily burned. That would be quite a shame if you had to die." He scoffed starting to walk.

Ryder nudged Mia to follow as he started to follow behind the prince and the Lady.

No words were exchanged making the scene incredibly uncomfortable. Nervously, Amelia clutched the side of her black dress. She didn't even know the palace well enough to know where she was. For all she knew, Titus could be guiding her to his torture chamber.

"Amelia, remember not to speak with other men unless it's my father." The cold voice of Titus caused her to flinch. Was he angry that the guard had tried speaking to her? Did he blame her?

Thinking about that instance, Mia thought that maybe the guards death was because she had broken an important standard. But she didn't understand why the prince didn't punish her directly?

Was this apart of his torture strategy? To make her suffer seeing others suffer?

A cruel man indeed.

"If I hadn't heard you speak earlier, I would assume you to be mute Amelia? It is polite to respond when a royal speaks to you." Titus was starting to become impatient with the girls shyness.

Mia looked slightly ahead to her left.

"My apologies your Highness. I'm not quite use to everything, but I am trying my best."

Keeping her words to a minimum, she hoped the conversation would end, but she was wrong.

"When we are at my personal manor, you may instruct my guards in front of your escort, but you should remain silent while in the Emperor's palace. Remember this."

"Yes milord." Came her meek response.

"Amelia?" The prince suddenly turned facing the girl.

"Yes? Your highness?" Mia looked at the prince wide eyed not knowing what he was planning on doing.

"I wish to see you wear black more often. I will instruct Isabella to get you more varieties, but this color on you will demonstrate that you belong to me. If anyone touches you, I won't hesitate to kill them"

Mia nodded her head and followed slightly behind Titus as he continued walking.

To her relief, the devil did not initiate anymore conversation letting Mia focus on how she would survive the evening. She would be surrounded by the most dangerous people in the nation and she knew offending someone would only cause more damage since the whole sacrifice memorial was ruined because of her.

Even though she would be going to the feast as the Prince's concubine, everyone knew she was a slave. Wait. Everyone knew she was a sacrifice.

People would have a hard time accepting her new status which was understandable since Mia herself could not understand it.

Looking at the Princes side profile, Mia watched the beautiful man walk with confidence. He had a sharp jawline and his hair seemed to be parted to the side due to him putting his fingers through it. He was probably the most attractive man in the empire. He had tanned skin thanks to the sun and being outside with all his training. His muscles showed through his shirt. He was very well fit and many women would have taken notice.

Not wanting him to catch her gawking, Mia eventually kept her eyesight toward the ground. The carpet was a deep red which matched the emperors hair. She wondered if red was the emperors color personally or if the next emperor would have to change his color to red.

Thinking to herself Mia realized only black suited this man next to her. He really looked like the Devil and she seemed to think it matched him perfectly.
