1 The Beginning

"Hey." said the man behind the counter with an annoyed expression on his face , "Are you going to buy something or not?"

The kid broke off from his daze. " Y-Yes sir" The kid quickly grabbed a bag of some sort's and walked towards the counter.

"I'll take this." He put the bag on the counter in front of the old man. The old man raised his eyebrow "Are you sure you can afford this kid?"

The kid placed 4 silver pieces on the counter with a confident smile.

The old man skeptically took the coins and said "If that's it, scram!"

The kid walked out the door and ran down the empty street. Eventually, he stopped outside a wooden two-story house. It was run down and looked like it it was about to fall apart, but that didn't bother him.

"Lione" said a little girl, as she hit him in the back of the head, "You were supposed to be back here half an hour ago!"

"Sorry Belle I got distracted." Lione replied while rubbing the back of his head.

Belle rolled her eye's as she walked inside the run down old house. Following behind her was an apathetic Lione.

"I wonder if they will ever come back." Belle said as she pondered out loud.

"Who knows" Lione said as he stepped past Belle, making his way upstairs into a small room. Inside the room was two small sleeping bag's made out of tattered rag's. A fireplace stood in the middle of the room, surrounded by junk that lay in randomly scattered piles.

Lione walked towards his bag and reached under it. Belle followed him into the room and hung onto Lione's back.

"I'm bored, can we finally go hunting?"

Lione pulled a small short sword out from under his sleeping bag "Yeah, but this time let's at least level up once."

Belle smiled "promise!"

Lione looked at her doubtfully and shrugged.

Before they left the room Lione said the word "Status" and a small board appeared in front of him.

"Wow" Lione said sarcastically.

Belle looked at him and then quickly looked away in defeat.

"Well, after we get back from the forest we should at least be level 1. So let's do our best" Lione said as he tried to give Belle a comforting smile.

They packed some food from a bag that was sitting in the corner of the room. Then together they headed out of the building and into the forest behind the house.
