Chapter 1

[C]Hello It's me Cato! I'm here with my first fanfic. It's an AU and Here's a few things to say before we get into the story. This is and older version of Marinette and she's not Ladybug in this. Instead Adrien is Chat (still no change there) and Someone else is Ladybug (surprise person will be announced later. Eventually Marinette will become Ladybug but I'm not gonna say how since I want you'll to be surprised. That's all I think so enjoy.

"Beep, Beep, Beep!" The alarm clock rang out, over and over again. It was Sunday morning and I was oversleeping; again. As much as I wanted to sleep in. I knew today could not be one of those. I had an important appointment I couldn't miss.

I looked over at my alarm clock which now read 8:45 and groaned, realizing I only had an hour to get ready.

"At least it's only a doctors appointment, I shouldn't have to look to fancy, will I Mino (Men-o)?" I looked down at my belly patting the barely visible baby bump. Today was my first prenatal visit and I was exhausted. I had scheduled my appointment for 10 thinking I'd have enough time to wake, and I guess I was wrong. Even tho the doctors office is just around 15 minutes away.

I had already spent 10 minutes just lost in my own thoughts. Dazed by the curse of Night Owls (Which is not being able to process in the morning). I actually didn't find out I was pregnant until 2 months after it happened. So I scheduled my appointment a couple weeks ago, and from the calls on the phone with the doctor; she thinks I'm around 11 weeks in.

I actually haven't had a rough pregnancy. Most people have morning sickness. Unlike me who just got nausea and rarely puked; but right now I had a pounding headache and I really didn't feel like moving. I pushed through the pain and got ready in record time 40 minutes. I'm supposed to meet my mom there so It's probably best if I left now. I grabbed my purse, and took off out of my little apartment towards the doctors office.

As I walked towards the doctors office I thought back on the day I told my parents about my pregnancy.

2 weeks ago,

"Knock, knock, knock!" I pounded my fist on my parents' bedroom door. I had hoped to tell them when they weren't in the bakery. Since I have the key to their apartment. I let myself in. When I had graduated from school I moved into my own apartment. Since it was closer to the lycée I'm going to.

"Come in!" I heard my mom call. I had called my mom and told her I was coming by so they had probably been expecting me for awhile. I walked in to see both my parents curled up on bed watching TV. I didn't expect them to be in bed this early. They usually at this time (18 o'clock) are in their bedroom playing board games.

"Your in bed early," I stated laughing loudly. My mom smiled and my dad started to chuckle.

"Well Mari, we couldn't decide on a board game, and decided to watch a movie instead. Want to join us?" My dad asked smiling. I could tell my parents missed me and felt glad I came.

I ran over to the bed and snuggled up in between them. Bringing me back to the days I was a child. My parents never spoke, we just sat there in silence; watching TV.

Eventually I broke the silence, bringing up the thing i came here to say. "I think I'm pregnant!" I blurted it out to where both my parents went wide eyed.

"You think, or you know?" My dad spoke in a question voice. I looked over at him and nodded.

"I know, I took a pregnancy test last week. It came back positive." I looked at both my parents waiting to hear their reply.

"Does the father know?" My mom asked trying to be supportive.

"No and I don't think I'm going to tell him. He's got so much on his mind, and I shouldn't make him worry about this." I stated not meeting my parents gaze. I really hoped my parents wouldn't ask who the father was, since I really didn't want to explain the situation, after all secretly dating a superhero for the past 2 years is pretty dangerous.

"How far are you?" My mom asked still keeping a calm, reserved face.

"9 weeks, that's what the doc thinks. I scheduled an appointment in 2 weeks and I really hoped you'd go with me mom." I asked hoping she'd accept.

"Of course, it is my grand baby after all!" My mom replied getting excited. All the while my dad was silent I looked at him trying to figure him out. He must have noticed because he finally spoke up.

"I'm really happy for you Mari, but your 17. Barely out of College! Plus we don't even know who the father is! Or that you were secretly dating! So I am a little worried, but I am happy for you too." I could tell my dad didn't know how to feel so I didn't ask for more.

"Well I think it's great!" My mom added ending the conversation.

Now here I am 2 weeks later walking to the doctors office to meet my mom for the appointment. I think my mom might be more excited then me, but I'm not gonna ask her. I walked around the corner approaching the doctors office, opening the door, and walking in to meet with my mom.

As I walked into the Doctors Office I could see my mom watching the local news in the waiting area. I smiled remembering how much my mom loved arriving first. She thinks of it as first dibs. I smiled remembering when I was growing up ho we'd arrive to places around an hour before needed. I've never been late to any place and that's all thanks to my moms taught habits.

"Do you have an appointment dear?" The counter lady asked as I approached her.

"Yes, it's at 10 with Dr. Drake." I replied smiling sweetly. I could see her scrolling through her list looking for my appointment.

"Ms. Do-pain-Change?" The lady asked I could tell she was struggling to pronounce my name so I helped her.

"Ms. Dupain-Cheng, actually. You got pretty close tho. Most people pronounce it wrong." I really hoped she didn't feel embarrassed. So I smiled brightly hoping she'd notice that it was all good.

The lady smiled back and replied, "thank you, your mother is already in the waiting room." I nodded and walked off to join my mom.

After around 10 minutes of waiting they finally called us back. I lifted my head as the same counter lady called my name.

"Ms. Do-Pain-Change!" I laughed, she pronounced it wrong again. My mom gave a smile and quick hand squeeze as we got up.

Once we arrived at the clinic area where the Doctor will check me. The nurse came in to do the normal check ups (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, looking in ears and eyes). The nurse was looking down at her clip board and was writing something down when I recognized her.

"Adrianna?" I asked a little fear rushed through me. Adrianna was one of my main besties. There was Alya, Kagami, Luka, Adrianna, And me.

Alya was the glue that brought us together. She's a party animal and loves to blog. She knows all the latest gossip and reports it too. Especially when if come to Ladybug and Chat Noir. I haven't seen Alya since she and her Boyfriend Nino went to college in New York together. Nino has his own group as well, I'm also friends with; Kim, Max, Nathaniel, Nino, And Adrien (my used to be crush).

Next there's Kagami, she's the feisty one. She never backs down from a fight, and always stands up for what she believes in. Kagami is actually learning how to be an police officer at the same Lycée right now. So I still see her frequently.

Then there's her Boyfriend, Luka. He's the calm reserved quiet one. He loves music/instruments and has always had a sight for talent. He's actually in a band that's popular in Paris. The band and him plans to go on tour soon.

Last theirs Adrianna. She's my closest most loyal friend. She's really outgoing, talkative, and loves to sing. Her twin brother is Adrien. They are definitely a trouble duo when their together.

I haven't told any of my friends about me being pregnant, since they would ask questions. That I really didn't want to answer. I really hope Adriana doesn't ask questions or spill the beans to anyone.

When I had called Adrianna by her name she looked up her eyes dead shot. "Oh hi Mari... Ummm what are you doing here?!" I could tell Adrianna was nervous by the way she kept stumbling as she spoke.

"I could ask you the age thing, I did after all not expect my best friend to be my nurse!" I counter asked Adrianna making her blush.

"Oh, ummm, I... well I didn't expect one of my patients to be you! Wait are you..." Adrianna replied realizing why I was there. When she asked if I was... well... pregnant, I just nodded my head.

"Tell you what, I'm here because I'm considering becoming a nurse. Just didn't want to tell you'll yet; and if I had to guess yours is the same story." So I'm not going to tell anybody, but please don't say anything about this either. Okay?" Adrianna asked hoping I'd keep her secret. I nodded as she spoke some more, "honestly I'm kinda hurt you didn't tell me, but I understand you probably weren't ready; and I respect that. Let's go ahead and get you checked out."

Adrianna started grabbing her kit and started the check up. I sat in silence not saying a word, around 5 minutes later she finished checking me out.

"Your healthy!" Adrianna exclaimed excited to see I was healthy. Adrianna ten smiled at me and said, "Later today we need to talk about this, and the doctor will be in here shortly." She then started walking out of the room, as I grabbed her hand and smiled.

"Thank you." I whispered meeting her eye. Adrianna smiled brightly then left. Leaving me and my mom to await the doctor.
