9 Chapter seven

Lucifer couldn't stop smiling as he observed a now dog-sized Shiro finishing the last bite from the waste pile, it had been about an hour since he realized that Shiro must officially be his familiar, and even though it shouldn't come as a surprise, the previously small kitten most definitely wasn't any run of the mill feline.

He crouched down as Shiro walked up to him with a bloody mouth and a satisfied look in its eyes.

He grinned as he took in the beginnings of a mane of hair around Shiro´s head and his paws that were much bigger than a regular house cat could dream to possess.

"It seems you are some variation of a lion huh?" he smiled as he started to scratch the now purring feline, "Thanks for sharing buddy" he whispered as he kissed its furry head.

Shiro´s reply was a deeper rumble as he rubbed its head against Lucifer´s cheek, feeling proud of healing its master with the energy the meat contained.

"Now we got to deal with this mess" Lucifer sighed as he straightened up and looked at the bloody scene in front of their Cave,

"And we got to be quick before we get any unexpected guests too" he murmured as he started realizing how rash it was to bring the carcass home.

"Should have just skinned it and brought some of the meat packed into the fur" but then again, bringing the organs brought on the revelation of Shiro´s apparent ability to grow from devouring Magical Flesh, and apparently share some of the gains with him.

He walked up to the meat and started cutting off its thighs, arms, and strips of its back. packing it all into the Fox hide and tying it off. "This should prevent the smell from attracting any scavengers looking for a free meal..."

He sighed as he looked over the rest of the meat that he wouldn't be able to efficiently transport with them as they moved due to its size and the trail it would leave the scavengers. "Better not let it go to waste then" He grinned as he looked into Shiro´s lazy crimson eyes.

"What do you say buddy, could I tempt you with a vulpine buffet?" his answer came in as Shiro bumped his knee affectionately in gratitude and pouncing on the Fox Carcass.

Lucifer softly smiled as he watched his only companion eat with gusto, he estimated that his familiar would take at least two hours maybe less if he continues to grow while consuming its meal.

"Better be productive while I wait" he summoned his wand in hand as he watched the white particles float out of his tattoo into his hand, shaping themselves into the now-familiar sleek white wand.

"What I need to do is to understand my abilities before I can start thinking of more ways to utilize them" He sighed as he started contemplating how to go about this, he didn't have any form of magical academy he could go to for now as he had absolutely no idea where he was or where he must go to find any form of civilization.

"So I have to go original about this huh?" he grinned at the challenge, because what does it mean to not have any form of education in the magical arts?

it could either mean being absolutely crippled in the arcane arts. or it could signify the birth of a whole new branch of magic.

With this firm ambition and determination in his heart, he sat down into a meditative position as he lay his wand on his thigh and closed his eyes.

He took a deep breath as he started feeling inwards to his heart, the place where all the energy came from when he fuelled his magic. he slowly breathed out and started willing Yang energy out of his heart and towards his wand, and with his breath intake willed the energy back into his heart.

Slowly repeating the cycle, he started to notice the difficulty of the task easing up with every repetition, and it was with a serene smile on his lips that he slowly immersed himself into the heat coursing through his body, the comfort of his wand on his lap.

His surroundings slowly faded away, from the wind lightly hitting his body, the mossy forest floor he was sitting in, and Shiro´s panting feast, it all slowly disappeared as all his senses focused inwards.

All he comprehended was the blood flowing through his body, all he saw was the pathway his energy traveled, feeling the warmth it brought him.

Lucifer snapped open his eyes as he felt an overwhelming sense of home, and what greeted him was the most magical scene he had born witness to in both his old life and new.

The previously forested surroundings were now replaced with what looked like an endless void filled with millions of stars.

As he lowered his gaze downwards his breath hitched as he saw what seemed to be a Planet-sized orb of what looked to be runes, he willed himself forward as he observed the planetary collection of runes, admiring how the runes were in a kaleidoscope of every color in the rainbow. their position seemed to slowly move, intermingling in a way that he almost lost himself in the everchanging pattern of multi-colored runic sequences.

But what he noticed was that in the few gaps in the runic shell, he could see a small inner core of golden fluid, and he instinctively knew that ebony liquid was what he had previously dubbed his Yang energy.

"But it's barely even taking up a percent of the available space?" He murmured in awe as he connected the lines in his head,

"This is my potential isn't it?" his mouth slowly forming a grin as he saw an actual measurement of his potential.

"Rather humbling to see that my current power is less than a hundredth of where I could potentially be huh"

He slowly broke away from observing the liquid as a rune moved to cover the gap he had been observing though, "Ignite?" he read out loud, shocked that he could actually read the jagged V-shaped rune as if it was English!

No, it was even easier to understand than English, almost like it was an instinctual language! he excitedly started observing the other runes and getting more and more excited the more he read!

"Vanish, Implode, Levitate, Left, Up, Pierce" were only five runes of what seemed to be an endless sea of runes, and if his theory that he could use these runes as codes to create the spark then that meant that he had an entire detailed language he could use to create spells!

He sighed in happiness as he took in the discovery he had uncovered, this represented an endless amount of opportunities and he knew deep down that this strange runic language belonged solely to him.

"´Woe be to the poor fools who cross my path as enemies" he giggled as soon as the cheesy quote escaped his lips, his eyes locked onto the Kaleidoscopic Planet of untapped knowledge.
