Moving

Skylar's POV

I woke up groggily and yawned, my jaw popping out of place slightly as I did so. I never felt like i could open wide enough to get the right amount of air in my lungs. I sat up from my bed and rubbed my eyes, looking at the alarm clock my father had gotten me a few years ago, it was the only thing in my room besides my bed and dresser. I stood up and shuffled my way into the bathroom we shared. I didnt have to look in the mirror to remember the bruise under my eye from last night. I never had to look in the mirror to remember the smacks and hits he delivered.

I did my normal routine of going piss and brushing my teeth before going into my room and changing into a pair of blue jeans and a white shirt. It was basically the only outfit I had, except I had a few different colored tees and one jacket for the winter. Once I was finished dressing I went into the kitchen, beginning to make breakfast for Daniel. But not before noticing the twelve pack of empty beers on the coffee table and him passed out half off the dusty couch we had.

It wasnt long that I had put in the bacon that Daniel had woken up. I cursed quietly when the grease sizzled and popped onto my pale arm, burning it. I heard him laugh from the other room before the floor boards began to creak with his movements. I managed to have a plate set out for him before he got into the kitchen. He huffed and grabbed the plate, something I had over the years learned was a good sign, the huffing that is. The less he has to say the better.

I ate my breakfast quietly, eyeing him as he scarfed down his food and got more. He paused and looked at me before gruffly speaking, itching his beard. God, he was disgusting.

"Pack you shit. We're leaving today."

I opened my mouth and then closed it before opening it again, I had wanted to ask why, we had lived here for 16 and a half years and all of sudden he wants move? He's never made any innuendos of wanting to move. "Uhm...can I ask why?"

He hissed slightly, allowing his lion to submerge as he glared at me with slight golden eyes. "There's been wolves poking around here." My eyes lit up for a split second before I'd remembered everything he'd ever told me about wolves. They were terrible creature and were heartless, even though they were smaller than a lion they would act innocent and then overpower it in a heartbeat, ripping it to shreds. I was ashamed to even be one at this point in my life. It seemed that he had caught the glint in my eyes though because he gripped it anf took off running his mouth. "Don't you even think about it boy! If it wasn't for your wolf side your mother wouldn't have died! Wolves are terrible disgusting heartless creatures and, HELL, I should beat your ass for even thinking about your wolf side!"

He stood up and my eyes widened in fear, shit. All in the same second that he stood up the regret and guilt hit me like bricks hitting cement, I already knew that I killed probably the only person who will ever love me, he did not have to remind me. I didn't even think that he would notice my look. I quickly looked down, revealing the nape of my neck and fiddled with my fingers, praying silently that he would sit be down. My prayers were not answered. His rough hand gripped my hair and pulled my head back till I was looking at his honey-golden eyes and barred teeth. "I'm sorry sir" I quickly apologized and he hissed in my face before spitting on my food. "Eat and then pack."

He let go of my hair and sat back down after he demanded me to eat. I looked down at my plate and grimaced. How the hell could one man provide so much fucking spit!!?

I sneakily threw my food out before going back to my room and glancing around. Damn there was a lot to pack. I grabbed my bookbag and put my couple pairs of jeans in it along with my boxers and shirts before putting my clock on top. Done! Phew.

I actually did take a minute to look over my bed, I wasn't fond of the memories I had made here but It was the only place I knew. Before noon my father had ordered me to meet him outside, in lion form, so I did. I held the bookbag by its handle in my mouth and sat patiently, sniffing the cool autumn air. It was going to rain later, I could smell it, and god, it smelled damn good.
