2 Secret Move: Grandpa´s Might

Guy now felt as if he understood better why all these newborns cry when they are born.

He was ripped out of his comfortable warmth into a land-of-snow-like climate. When before he was in dark place, he now landed in an unbearable bright surrounding. And his body suffered under the terrible squeezing taking place. Alone the realization of what he was getting pushed through was enough to bring him close to a mental breakdown, only held at bay by him trying to distract himself with youthful thoughts.

´I am not the Noble Green Beast If this is enough to break me! Power of Youth activate!´

Were Guy a lesser man, he probably would have cried, but he was not just anybody. He was the epitome of youth and as such he merely ´complained´ loudly when he finally got out. Though once he realized he was neither able to properly gesticulate himself nor to speak, he tried to look at the perpetrators ruining his comfort. Despite his blurry vision he found himself able to see a feminine face filled with exhaustion.

´This seems to be my new mother. I can feel the power of youth oozing out of her.´

His new mother looked at him lying in her arms sporting a relieved look in her honey-brown eyes. She seemed pale, though not in an unhealthy way. Long dark orange hair framed her sweaty face.

And although Guy still had his inhibitions towards this new parent of his, he decided he would try to be a good child. He looked around as his eyes are finally able to let him see the rest of the room and noticed that he wasn´t in a hospital room as expected but rather a cozy bedroom. In addition the decoration even suggested that it was quite luxurious. He spotted three other people, an elderly couple and a middle-aged man respectively, surrounding him. All of them smiling and talking in a rather excited tone. And Guy finally realized he could not understand a single word.

´If I don´t understand the basics in the next three months I will make 100 baby-Sit-Ups! Wait what am I saying, I will make 100 anyway! And if I can´t, I will do 100 crunches and if I can´t …´

Imagining his baby training, Guy subconsciously showed a nice guy smile weirding out his new family. That was, until the mental and physical fatigue of being born again after dying caught up with him, making him abruptly fall asleep while drooling on his new mother´s arm.

"Is this some type of shitty joke? Because I´m not laughing."

The vice dean was not amused. His expression, which usually showed a little smile, twisted into a fierce frown, akin to someone who just woke up, because the group of drunk neighbors decided 3 am is the best possible time for some tapdancing with their clogs.

Opposite to him stood his chubby colleague, replying with a helpless look

"I wish I was, Shenji, but the Emperor confirmed it. And I was personally told so by the dean. He was in quite the grumpy mood, before kicking me out of his office."

Meng Shenji was absolutely not amused. He knew it was going to be a huge pain in the ass.

Dressed in his Grey robe with a brown overcoat, a grey tower-shaped hat and blue-gray pearl-necklace, he furiously stroked his white long beard in an attempt to calm his rising annoyance.

The previous supervisor retired after a failed assassination on him. The noble family, who hired the assassin, apparently did so after supervisor Xie suspended their heir in public. It wasn´t exactly Xie Hong´s most intelligent move, when he announced to the public that the rape allegations against said heir were proven correct, effectively suspending him immediately. The family had all their titles and ownerships taken, left to fend with nothing more than the clothes they wore and, barely, their life.

Now 1 year after he retired the empty position was finally filled.

"When is it going to be official? Because I want to know how drunk I can get before that brat becomes even more of a haughty jackass. I can practically feel him Going around academy grounds like he owns them, throwing suspensions at them for not kneeling in front of him."

"Stop being so pessimistic. He is not that bad, he is just grumpy, because the royal physician said, that he has to stop taking the endurance-raising spirit-medicine or his small dragon might permanently become a dead worm. Just imagine him being a rebellious toddler not getting his toys. It certainly helped me, back when he was a student."

The chubby old man said so while sporting a jovial smile. Shenji looked at his fellow vice dean seriously.

"Bai Baoshan, what would the Emperor say, if he heard you slandering his little brother? A small manhood is no laughing matter. It is a serious limitation to have to compare sizes with a woman to feel confident again. I have to warn… hahahahahaha. No, seriously if somebody heard us, we would be royally screwed."

Baoshan laughed a bit with Shenji, before settling in a serious mood again.

"It´s going to be official in 1 month when the new students arrive. And relax, he can´t recklessly oppose us without good reason, so we just have to make sure to warn the students about his ´grumpy tendencies´. By the way how is your family? The last time you told me that your son wrote about getting himself a fierce little wife. You were pretty enthusiastic about getting a grandson to spoil and train. My son is still the single wimp he always was, though he seems to be more confident in his interactions with others. In the most recent letter, he wrote about arriving in Kingdom of Balak. He apparently made friends with a nomadic group, traversing the Empire in a one-year-cycle and decided to join them for now."

Shenji´s mood bettered immediately and was thankful for the welcome distraction.

"Well my brat arrives with his catch in a week and remembering the way he wrote about her, my chances to have a toddler crawling around in my house are phenomenal. The girl`s name is Shizi Mao and she seems to be pretty powerful. I can feel it in my stomach, I will be the winner in the next EGG."

"EGG?"

"Obviously ´Empire´s Greatest Grandpa´, what else would it mean?"

"You know, I like you better, when you´re not drooling about your weird toddle-fixations."

"I have no toddler-fixations. I just yearn to spoil a grandchild, affectionately calling me Grandpa and asking for advice in his cultivation."

Seemingly fed up with Shenji entering his Dreamworld, Baoshan just decided to end the small talk

"Fine Grandchild-obsessions then. Anyway I´ll tell the teachers of Xing´s supervisor-position. I just hope they don´t quit immediately. Though In the case they do, you should make sure to look for replacements. I Have enough to do as is. See you later, weirdo."

Some time after Vice Dean Bai left, Shenji got his bearings back and started organizing for new teachers. He didn´t like Xue Xing becoming supervisor, but the thought of his currently imaginative grandchild gave him the needed motivation to go through with this shit show. And as such the thin old Vice Dean began fighting against the strongest foe of all: Paperwork

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The man with white hair and long beard and strong brown eyes was rushing around his house with a speed no normal human could follow, trying to arrange everything neatly, cleaning up until not even a speck of dust remained, muttering about making a good impression, so he could spend a lot of time with his future descendant. His wife sat on the chair and looked at him, amused with the current situation. Their son would apparently arrive even earlier with his wife, tomorrow evening, and Meng Shenji´s nerves laid blank, as if the meeting of their daughter-in-law is a matter of life and death.

He even took a leave to prepare for everything, Not allowing their servants to tidy up and clean, since he wanted to show his Grandpa-Might, whatever that was supposed to be. He went as far as asking the cook to train him, so he could cook tomorrow´s dinner. Though the couple had to assure said cook that they don't intend to dismiss him. Once Shenji was showed the basics in an all-nighter, enabling him in cooking something that actually tasted surprisingly good. Though he claimed his Grandpa-Might was the reason, his wife Meng Mei had her suspicions, that the cook just brought some high-quality spirit beast-meat so it wouldn´t taste bad as long as her husband stuck to the instructions.

She looked forward to meeting her son´s "lioness", as he nicknamed her in his letter. Though a grandchild didn't sound bad, she was not nearly as obsessed about it as her husband. She actually hoped that her daughter-in-law would be easy to get along with as she yearned for a female friend to spend time with. Sure, she had her husband and some acquaintances, but it would still be nice to have a female family-member. Meng Mei looked a bit younger than her husband, seemingly in her early fifties, her once red hair, slowly losing color, but her blue eyes were shining as brightly as ever. She was thin but not as thin as her husband, who had a deceptively low amount of muscles when compared to his strength.

When she dragged herself out of her inner monolog, she found Shenji bringing in new furniture. He intended to make the perfect environment for a baby, so that their son and daughter-in-law would happily bring it here a frequent as possible, once they had one of course.

She had to stop him, otherwise he would weird their new family-member out.

"That is enough you toddler-obsessed weirdo!"

"I think I have a feeling of deja-vu… and I´m not obsessed with toddlers, only one I can call my own!"

"The way you said it sounded very wrong, you know…"

"I just want to be a grandpa!"

´Great, now he´s pouting in the corner...`

It was going to be a long day…
