Chapter 1Introduction

The ancient and infamous battle of dark against light. Both sides put up an equally powerful fight that has enough potential to change one's course completely. Depending on the person, you will either spiral out of control or find the right path that will vigorously benefit you.

The biggest mistake that people make is to think of the darkness as an 'evil' thing. They often think of the darkness as this presence that solely exists to prevent them from reaching success/happiness. But if you think about it, is there really something out there that you can call 'the darkness'?

If you think about it, the reason why people are in bad situations it is often because of decisions made by themselves or by someone else.

My point is that the darkness isn't an external presence that has its own influence and the same goes for light. I think that it is within us, that it's our own subconscious that sends us into those so-called 'spirals' that we know all too well. But it's not all bad, the darkness is a lot easier to embrace, it is also very quick to take you in and it will never judge you no matter what you've done.

The light, however, is often regarded as a beacon of hope, something that inspires people. But it is never thought of as anything else.

As long as it inspires people it is never questioned. Sure some people question it but it is very rare.

It provides a false hope that drives us and eventually blinds us from the harsh reality. It makes us make decisions whilst we can't see anything with our own mind, whilst we are under the impression that we are in control but in the meantime, it is not us making those decisions. It's our subconscious that is controlling our every move and ambition.

I think the light could be a good thing but as long as it blinds people, I think it will always be worse than the darkness.

Without the concept of darkness, there would be no light and without the concept of light to then the concept of darkness would cease to exist, there would only be reality without those concepts.

With that being said, there is both darkness and light within us all... Which side do you think dominates you?
