6 Chapter 5

Chen Mimi had a soft smile on her face.

The door opened to a petite little girl with white hair and blue eyes. She was dressed in a soft brown dress and in her hands were some books and crayon.

"Myrraaa~" Tarana called as she closed the door. She then proceeded to climb the other chair and sat across Myra, her eyes sparkling with joy.

"Look! My mami gave me these books and crayon. She said we could practice writing our name in it!" Tarana put down the book on the table, distributing it equally for both herself and Myra.

Chen Mimi smiled at Tarana. She knew from her memory that Tarana was the only kid who was willing to play with her. To Myra, Tarana's existence was one akin to an angel.

"Wite our names?" Chen Mimi softly said, her eyes looking at the book in front of her, at a loss.

"That's right! My mami wrote our names on the front of the book. You can just copy it, she said." Tarana explained as she showed her the book.

Chen Mimi immediately realised that the scribbles on the front of the book was her name. Since Myra was still a little girl, she did not recognise the writing of this world.

Chen Mimi's eyes immediately lighted up. She started to pick up a piece of crayon and slowly immitated the scribbles.

The two girls started to slowly practice writing their names. Even though the house was silent, you could hear soft scribbling sounds as the two girls work hard on their writing.

Soon enough, a straight and tidy row of scribbles could be seen on Myra's book. Every page was filled to the brim with the same meticulous writing. On the other hand, Tarana's book had haphazard scribbles all over the pages. She wrote down her name in every blank space she could find.

At the end, when they compared the books, Tarana had a huge pout on her face as she looked at Myra's book.

"Why does your book look so pretty?!" Tarana said, full of irritation and frustration.

Chen Mimi smiled at the little girl's antics.

"Viu shoed me hish buk. He wote wike dis." Chen Mimi made a random excuse to pacify the angry little girl.

"Hmph!" Still unsatisfied, Tarana just jumped off the chair as she made her way to the kitchen.

On one of the small table, a pot of beef and potato stew was simmering in the hearth. The fire in the hearth was very very small so the stew did not burn.

Tarana quickly grabbed a bowl and ladled a few scoops of stew for herself. Chen Mimi went and followed after her.

Tarana was not a petty girl so quickly became lively again as she started talking about how her new puppy that her mother just recently brought home.

Chen Mimi just listened quietly, happy to indulge in the triviality life.

"Oh yeah, Myra! I heard that your awakening day is coming! Aren't you excited?"

Chen Mimi tilted her head in confusion.

"A-wae-ka-ning day?"
