4 The Sombrero

Heading to the Corner store the next day Esha and I notice a big guy standing on the stoop of the house OG took us to the day before. This guy had on a large sombrero wearing yellow and blue. He was surrounded by a sea of red. I mean every blood was out that day and here was this guy alone in a large hat wearing yellow. I was impressed. This guy turned out to be Sha. OG little brother. What I had come to find out is that Sha had his own apartment in that building. His brothers apartment was in the front and his was in the back. Sha was totally against all this blood stuff. Since his older brother was head of that set he could not change it. So instead he wore every loud color he could but, red In a silent protest. I was very impressed that he was his own man and did not let his older brother get him involved with something he didn't want to be a part of. The show was coming up and OG was making sure everyone was ready. When he noticed me walking by he said you wrote some new shit? I was like yeah of course. He said okay the show is in a few days. Everyday after that OG would show up at the independent living home to get me to spit some new rhymes. It got to the point where the staff at the independent living home called me in for a meeting to make sure I was not apart of a gang. I quickly informed them that they were mistaken. I let them know that I was lyrically inclined and had a show coming up they were welcome to come and see. I was in school studying for my G.E.D and worked so I had no time for that. The day before the show Esha was arrested. So the day of the show I spent most of it getting her out. I made it to the show right before it was time for OG's set. The show was right in front of the record shop so OG climbed up on a van that was parked and rocked up there it was a dope set that got better once he jump off the stage and handed the microphone to Sha. When Sha began to rock I was shocked. This big guy of little words had a lot to say. The audience knew his hooks and punch line it's like all of Brooklyn was in unionism. I had to cross the street to get the full visual.
