No more

Darkness Did you know that darkness doesn't actually exist ? It's just a word humans made up to explain the lack of light. So its better to say, there is no lights, in the place where our MC is. Also it is proven by science that our brains, remain active for a short period of time after our death. {Is this an illusion created by my brain or is this the place where our souls go, after death? }

Needless to say our MC had no answer to that question. Well that was until a rock came crashing into him. He felt something he was very familiar with. PAIN So much pain come rushing into him that he couldn't think anymore.

This PAIN was different from any kind of pain he had felt in his life. It was as if his soul was being ripped apart. With every second that passed, the pain got that much stronger. He couldn't think. He was losing his sense of self. Thoughts slipped pass him. He was forgetting who he was. He was being consumed by that strange rock. {O well what difference does it make anyway, I have no reason to exist, no goal.}

He was giving up but in the last moment a strange thought passed his mind. His hole life he was sacrificed for the benefits of others. His friends he once called brothers betrayed him in order to get rich, so they could have an easy life. His girlfriend betrayed him so she could be rich and accomplish her goals in life. The casino owner killed him to maintain his reputation and show what happens when people steal from him. And now this stupid rock was consuming him for his benefits.

Anger rose inside him. Anger that he was being sacrificed again. Anger that other people would benefit greatly from his demise. Anger that even though he had never done anything wrong in his entire life, he was marked as a criminal. Anger at himself for not realizing that he was being played. Anger, Anger, Anger, Anger ,Anger to everything that tried to harm him . {No more, that's it no more, I won't allow this stupid rock to get advantage of me.}

His soul that was being consumed by that rock suddenly started shining. A miracle was happing. The rock started to get consumed instead. His soul was devouring that stupid rock. For the first time in his life he was benefiting from the demise of someone else.

He had no idea how long the process of devouring that stupid rock took. It could have been one minute,one second, or an entirety. He had no sense of time in this weird place. All he know was that by the time he was done,he found himself in an old, small room. He had no idea how he come to be in this old room. The room was empty except for an old table, that looked like it would break any moment.

In top of the table there where four books with different titles. TALENTS. SPELLS. ATTRIBUTES JOURNAL. Those were the titles of the books. As he tried to come closer to the books, he realized that he had no body. But his field of vision started to come closer to the books, though. It was a weird feeling for him and he felt like a camera.

He tried opening the book titled JOURNAL,but the cover didn't budge. He also tried the other books one after the other but the only book he could open was the TALENT one. Just as he opened the book in the first page it read

[WELCOME ADELOR MESEUS GLADES CHOSE YOUR TALENTS ]

And a list of talents was written in the next page which countries till the end of the book

{Oh my god there must be hundreds of pages in this books and all of them are written. There is no way I could read all of them}

Just as he was thinking this, the words on the book got rewritten. The talents now were rearranged in 3 different columns MAGICAL. WARRIOR OTHER

{This seems really important so I should chose after I have more information}

As he tried to close the book he found out another problem. He couldn't close it. He couldn't even change his field of vision.

That book was making him chose.

{What should I chose?}

As our MC...no Adelor was thinking what should he chose, a thought came to his mind. Magic. So, magic is real. Adelor didn't know what to do but deep down a voice was saying to him "chose the magic related talents"

So after ours of reading the book and testing different things Adelor found out 3 things. One, he could only chose 5 talents total. No matter if they were from MAGIC column, WARRIOR, or OTHER. Second, he found out that every talent had buffs and debuffs just like a game. You get something you, lose something else. Third, he couldn't chose talents that are opposite to each - other. Like Massive Body which gave him 3l more strength and short body which gave him more speed.

So the problem was what did he wanted to be. He could be a warrior, mage or a mix of both of them. In novel you see the MC often times to be a mix between a warrior and a mage but in real life specialisation is the key. If you look closely even in earth those who had Master Degrees for example were generally paid more than those with only a bachelor's degree. Why? Because they are more specialized in their field.

With that in mind Adelor chose to go mage all the way. Why, you might ask. Well for 2 reasons. One mages, in fantasy novels,mages are more versatile. Second as a mage you could make money through enchantments and other things but as warrior your only job was to fight. At best he could be a bodyguard. He didn't want that.

So after more hours,or at least he thought so because he still had no sense of time, of carful consideration. Adelor finally made up his mind.

[Superior Mana sense —can feel mana in the air —can see mana —slitly reduced eyesight ]

[Small mana pool — more control over mana —less mana cost for spells — harder to expand mana pool]

[ Stronger spirit — stronger spirit than normal —more mana regeneration —weaker body]

[Magical genius —learn magical skills faster —harder to learn non-magical skills]

[Cultivation enthusiasts —can cultivate longer than usual —small chance of doubling mana gains on that cultivation session —extremely small chance to comprehend or modify a skill ]

So those were the talents Adelor chose. His reasoning was simple Since he had decided to be a mage, if he can't feel mana how was he going to cast spells?

So he chose superior mana sense . After that he ran into another problem, did he want more mana or better control of mana. Adelor chose the better control even if he had to sacrifice a larger mana pool. Reason ? Simple. Even if its harder to expand his mana pool given enough time he could slowly expand it. But with better control his spells cost less. Coupled with faster regeneration of mana thanks to Strong Spirit he could cast more spells then if he had a larger mana pool. As for magical genius he just had to chose it. A mage needs to be skilled so if he could learn things faster it would be an advantage for him. The last talent he chose was cultivation enthusiast which he thought that would help him greatly since he could cultivate longer now. Also, while the chance was small he could double his mana gains with this talent. After all if you do something 1000 times even if the chance to do it right is 1% you will still get it right at least 10 times.

After he chose his talents the words in the book changed .

[Enjoy your new life Adelor Meseus Glades ]

After that sentence, the book disappeared from the table and last thing Adelor saw was a massive white light entering the room.
