Deep Down

I dived in, waiting…... I had spent months trying to hide the feeling, but I couldn't. I tried to stop coming to the exact same spot and the exact same time every single night, but even if every morning, I swear to myself that I wouldn't be back, I would find myself that exact night that I would. being here count me in every way and I loved it! my biggest fear is that someone will see my splashes as I dive in the perfectly clear and still water or the ripples as I breathe underwater. The deeper I go the more I can feel it changing. The liquid warm against my skin compared to the cold night air. it feels like caramel just wanting to go in deeper so warm and so thick. The further I dive, the further I swim. Trying to push me down with my arms and not using my almost not legs. I look to my almost non-existing feet; it doesn't feel weird anymore and I'm used to the fact of looking at it. As my toes turn into fins I become when I truly AM. A mermaid!
