First fight

We started to approach the fence line while the whole time we could hear growls and yips and every once in a while I would see the fence line shake from a glowing green arc of wind that clashed against it. Thankfully the metal only bent a little before returning to its place but still the fact that even an [E Grade] could bend it enough that I'm sure something could jump over it was worrisome.

"That was a test and a threat, they want us to know that they are there... As if the howls weren't a good enough indicator.... But also they are testing the fence line for a weakness. Damn things learned that they can't break my fence, but they sure as hell can bend it for a second, they just need that perfect moment to have a couple of their pack jump over and all hell breaks loose."

"Why don't they just lay down on top of it and bend it down that way?"

"Hahaha, oh that's a good question... This is why." Alex tore off a branch from a nearby tree and then threw it at the fence..... As soon as the green leaves barely touched the fence it was like 4th of July! Everything lit up in sparks and the branch instantly burst into flames. The pack of wolves on the other side yelped from surprise and I heard the sounds of rushing footsteps away from us.

"Hmm, well damn I shoulda just done that from the beginning shouldn't I? Hahahahah man that's great but the cost of electrifying this whole fence isn't exactly cheap mind. But damn if the sound of those little bastards running away and yelping ain't music to my ears." Alex slapped me on my back as he laughed.

Me and Hector chuckled to until we heard a door slamming open and Kelly coming out with what looked like freaking shotgun.

"What the FUCK was that! Did something get through!?" She yelled as she started looking around as she ran over to us.

"Dammit babe! Nothing got through now put that damn thing away, you know that don't do shit to these beasts anyways, hell it did anything to the poachers we had last year."

"Poachers?" Hector raised an eyebrow but Alex just waved him off.

"Ain't nothing to it, just some punks looking to take a couple of our girls for themselves. They got tore up by the leader of our flock but they packed his gut full of steel in exchanged.... Damn shame. I liked Bert to."

By the time I was going to open my mouth and say something about the fact he named one of his birds Bert I heard howling and yipping coming from the woodline again.

"Dammit! Those things already grew their balls back? looks like they might be more than a little hungry? Hey hon go give kyle a call, now that I'm thinking about it the amount of yips and howls I'm hearing is way more than the normal pack that roams around here... I'm thinking we might have a new Alpha taking over."

Kelly nods and runs back to the house while Alex gets a more serious look on his face. "If it's what I'm thinking than that just spells bad news for us farmers, hell even the ones that just grow crops around here are gonna be in for a shit show."

Hector sighs before he pulls out a sword and shield before he speaks. "Are you suggesting that there might be a migration taking place here Alex? You know what that means don't you?"

"Yea.... Something big just moved in and started forcing em out of their spot. Only thing is I can't think of anything that might be strong enough to force these guys to move? I mean these packs are damn near strong enough to take on a [D Grade] when they all ambush it."

Hector just looked at me and shook his head. "I'll need to call it in then. This is a sorta big deal on this side of the gate Jim so if you hear anything, and I mean anything about this kind of activity it is always a good idea to call it in to have HQ send out a team to investigate."

He pulled out some kind of cellphone looking device but I could see as mana was powering it and before long I heard a female voice come through.

"HQ hotline, name and rank?"

"Hector Galderez, Rank B."

"Gotcha, now what can I do for you Hector?"

"Yea I'm over here at Kwee farms ran by Alex Bower and There seems to be a more than average amount of [Grade E] Cutter wolves currently attacking his fence line. According to him this is unusual and it sounds like Migration activity."

There was silence on the other end of the line except for the sound of the clacking of a keyboard. Moments later the voice speaks back up.

"Understood, are you currently in danger?"

"No, but I would like a team to be a little quicker just in case if that's alright?"

"No problem Hector, I sent out the call and there should be a team arriving shortly, estimated time is within 10 minutes according to your location."

"Thank you goodbye." Hector hung up and smiled at me before turning to Alex who was in a serious mood while looking at the woodline and watching as there were now multiple slashes of wind colliding with the fence.

"Team should be here in a few minutes, all we gotta do is hold out for 10 minutes."

"Good. Cuz it looks like they are getting ready to send over a few to get the party started."

I wasn't paying attention to the fence since I was listening in on the coversation between Hector and HQ (Yea rookie mistake I know) but looking back at the fence my eyes opened wide as I saw the fence line that stood easily 7ft. was now bending down at an angle that was lower than my waist before springing back up. Another thing I noticed was that each time the metal was bent, it would take longer and longer for it to straighten out again. At first it was quick as not even a single second passed before it was right back up again.... But now after a few more times of being bent, it was taking more than 5 seconds to straighten out.

"How long before they attack?" I asked while pulling out a knife and I started to feel a rush of adrenaline as I prepared myself.

"Once it hits ten seconds for the fence to fix itself. That's when they pounce. At first it'll only be a couple of wolves as a test but each wave after will be more and more." Alex soon whistled and a few seconds later a Kweh came over that was covered in grey feathers and had a long scratch down one side of its beak.

"This is my current pack leader Bjornson. He is the brother of those two males over in the grazing area but this guy is way more combat oriented.... hahaha even though he is a total lover." Alex patted Bjornson on his side and in return Bjornson leaned over and started to nuzzle Alex's cheek.

"Wow!!! That is amazing! I am totally getting one of those." I couldn't help but say in amazement at seeing one of these majestic guys up close.

"Haha, boy you do a good job here tonight and I'll give you first pick of the new batch we got brewing."

"Are you serious! Hell yea let's gooo!"

AWOOOOOOOO

As if to answer my enthusiasm the wolves howled all together like a warcry before 2 wolf like monsters jumped over the fence and stood in an aggressive stance while snarling at us. They looked like coyotes from earth but more lethal looking with the claws and the scythe like extra claw in the middle of their paws. But these ones also looked gaunt and almost emaciated? Like they were starving.

"Get ready boy here we go! GO get em BJORNSON! BOOST!" Alex yelled as he raised his hand and a yellow circle appeared on his palm and seconds after as Bjornson ran towards the monsters he glowed yellow and I could feel as his very presence got bigger, he got faster, I could see as his very steps themselves pushed further into the ground. Bjornson jumped and extended out a his clawed foot towards one of the wolves and upon impact it was like a confetti cannon as pieces of gore sprayed out the opposite side from the point of impact and a spray of red poured over the grass.

"Holy shit!" I yelled

"I did that to hopefully scare the rest away, sometimes it works but sometimes it just pisses them off more." Alex said with a smile but his face turned as an aggressive and deep roar came from the woods. "Looks like I lost the gamble this time, and this time we are unfortunate enough to have got an Alpha tonight."

I turned back to the remaining wolf but it was already shredded by Bjornson as not even a whimper escaped it before dying. Soon after a few more wolves jumped over but this time instead of looking like they were starving, these ones looked bigger and more muscular but with a look that didn't look like hunger in their eyes... It looked like rage. It looked like this monster was angry at us instead of just trying to follow a basic survival instinct.
