39 Past Matters

"Good morning Hazel" Victor smiled entering the room.

Looking at Victor standing opposite to her Mia remembered everything that took place yesterday.

"Where am I and how am I here?" Mia questioned glancing all over the huge room, which is almost twice of the tiny house she lives in.

"You are in a safe place" Victor smiled.

"Safe place? I am in a giant room standing opposite to a person whom I knew nothing about, and you are saying I am in a safe place. Look at the irony" Mia chuckled.

"We have the whole day to fight, go and fresh up" Victor ordered in a cold tone.

Mia stood in the same place not moving a bit.

"Move" he ordered.

"And how am I supposed to get ready psycho? Is this my place? Where are my things?" Mia screamed.

"Enough, we have more important things to deal with rather than fighting. I need you out within ten minutes" Victor dragged Mia towards the bathroom.

"I can walk, leave me you psycho" Mia punched his hand but failed to free her hand from his strong grip.

Mia glared at him with anger and shut the bathroom door on his face.

"She is going to be a pain in my ass" Victor scoffed walking out.

"Looks like you had enough for the morning" Travis joked when he saw Victor's fallen face.

"I pushed her to get ready. I should talk to her and make her understand the seriousness of the situation. She needs to know that I am not doing this to play with her or use her. Only then she will cooperate with us instead of picking a fight for every little thing" Victor leaned back in his chair.

"We need to do that really fast, we literally have no time" Travis stated fact.

"If she obliges without creating a drama, then it's well and good. If she tries playing with me, she will know what I am" Victor was serious.

"So did you find anything related to her?" Travis questioned.

"Don't worry, we will make her understand this, and we will train her" Travis assured.

"Can you believe, there are no past records about her? All the information we are able to find was from the time she turned 20, none of our sources was able to find any information about her past. The proofs she submitted for work include only a few details. Her marriage registration certificate has the signature of an old man, information found out that he is her grandfather. But there were no proofs, the proof for her driving license too didn't give any clue. I am having various doubts in my mind. Are Hazel and Mia related in any way? Why is everything about her past was such a secret?" Victor tapped on his knee while speaking.

"Her husband, what happened to him? How did he end up in such state?" Travis questioned.

"Sources found that some accident took place that made him end up in bed and his obsessive drinking habit deteriorated his health, but I was unable to believe in anything. All this looks unbaked. Mia is a young and beautiful girl, why she had to end up marrying such an old person who has been to prison more than 10 times, and why the hell is she fighting for him? There are many layers to this story. I can't understand anything" Victor went on speaking.

"Something is missing, something is definitely there, Mia is a mystery. Her house owner is a creep who is trying to get into her bed, her husband is psychotic who had issues, she is working nights and days to save him, her mobile or her house has none of her pictures or past memories. Her certificates are fake. All this says something big Travis, we need to find that out" Victor was serious.

"Victor, Mia is not our concern, Hazel is our concern. We need to find reasons for Hazel's sudden exit. We need to know whether she is safe or not. We need to concentrate on her," Travis explained.

"Yeah, I do know that and we have put almost all of our people on that, no one should have any idea about that. I just wish all issues get sorted. Mia has the toughest job to make Hazel's parents believe that she is their daughter. If they get the slightest idea that the one who I am marrying is not their daughter we should be ready to face massive troubles. They entrusted their daughter with us" Victor felt a bit tensed thinking about the consequences.

"Don't worry, we will make her understand this, and we will train her" Travis assured.

"Why do I have this feeling that Mia and Hazel are related? Why can't I get any information about this girl? Why doesn't her house have anything related to her?" Victor kept thinking about Mia.

"Sir, Madam is refusing to wear this" two women walked towards them carrying a dress.

"Looks like your problems have started" Travis chuckled looking at Victor.

"I will see that. You may leave" Victor ordered them taking the dress to his hands.

Mia observed how Victor clutched her hand and a lone tear slipped from her eye.

"Are you missing your husband?" Victor whispered near Mia's year.

Mia didn't react anything and looked dull, though Victor felt something wrong she let it go as he had enough to deal with.

"No, you should only be seated after all the men are seated" Victor instructed.

"Why are they born from heaven?" Mia mocked.

"Mia..." both men stretched.

"All the best buddy" Travis laughed hard when Victor started walking towards Mia's room.

"What is the matter with you? Did you take an oath to say No to each and everything? Why can't you wear this dress? Why can't you just follow a simple order without creating a drama?" Victor stopped yelling glancing at Mia who is standing opposite him, words got stuck in his throat and sweat beds formed on his forehead.
