Intermission : The investigation

2 days after the ships left the city after Thomas recovered completely and Bluesworth spent time with his family, they have decided to start investigation to get to the bottom of what happened, people were shaken but were doing fine, no one in the fleet was aware of how fast the news was spreading normally it would have taken longer to spread, but someone had a scoop early and spread the news very quickly.

Thomas was in a ships restaurant hall where food was served to the people in limited rations, they made sure they have enough for the journey, there were several armed military vessels as well, which means pirates aren't a big threat right now.

Thomas looks around he was quite happy and sad, to him the fact that they managed to save so many people in such a short time is a bittersweet victory regardless.

Thomas looks around and thinks to himself while eating "at least we managed to save some people, I should hurry and finish eating Captian Stewarts expecting me"

Thomas finishes eating and then leaves the restaurant hall and proceeds to the upper deck.

On the way up Thomas seen a couple of guards, when looking to the right can be seen ocean and rest of the ships in the fleet on the right side.

Guard looks at Thomas "ah welcome sir Captian is expecting you"

Thomas nods and walks past the guards into the room.

The room has 1 window on left looking south of direction of the ships, it as well had the window to the right looking in the north direction.

The room had a very long simple wooden table with a map on it, and a red carpet with a crown in the middle, and chairs quite far away from the table on both sides.

Bluesworth smiles "good to see, you now we can start the investigation"

Thomas sits down "alright the old lady judge told me she will look into it, I am not sure if she managed to save any documents, but she's right now the best chance we have"

Bluesworth nods and gets up "anything else"

Thomas looks down thinking " our weapons were largely missing, and not to mention most of the ships were gone as well"

Bluesworth opened one of table's drawers and pulled out the map, and spread it out on a table

Bluesworth now looks map it was the map of the city and surrounding Islands "The ships went north, I'm not sure why but the whole enemy fleet came directly here"

Thomas gets up "we just don't know enough we should look into it when we get to the capital.

Bluesworth nods "anyways let's go to the judge"

They leave the room and head to the south side of the ship and then go past the guards.

Deck bellow was turned completely into the refuge quarters, there were guards passing by there coming to stay with their families or deal with sorrow.

Even so, it was divided into sections the old lady judge was in the section where they were documenting all they could about survivors, it was located on the right side of the ship on the south side was storage with blankets and all basic needs.

Thomas and Bloesworth enter the documenting room

The Old Lady Judge smiles "oh hello Captians what do you need today"

Bluesworth smiles back "hello lady judge hows are the things going here are all resent documents saved ?"

Old Lady Judge "only resent ones I fear we did not have time to pick up all of them"

She looks at Thomas "but I assume you came here about admiral Stewart, managed to find some strange reports especially about recent court cases"

The old lady picks up a notebook next to the table the room had 1 big shelf, where they store the documents and there was 1 young man organizing documents while The old Lady Judge Signed documents and list of survivors.

Old Lady Judge opens her notebook "ah here it is he tends to hire the same lawyer always and he pulled a lot of funds from city income into his own bank account, id assume with all that money he was going to invest into his personal project"

Bluesworth raises his eyebrow "well that's certainly worth looking into, anything else"

Old Lady Judge "he accused and arrested or killed a lot of people who had connections to him in the city over the last few months, seems like he planned this out a very long time ago"

Bluesworth gets frustrated "so he was getting rid of witnesses, very smart it will make it very hard to figure out what he's up too..."

Thomas nods "perhaps or maybe he will announce his intentions publicly..."

Bluesworth looks at Thomas "what do you have in mind"

Thomas " he is the leader of the movement that is for arming our nation and preparing us for war against cuthulians and other nations"

Bluesworth " so you think he could be doing this to push his own agenda "

Thomas nods "most likely it makes the most sense, from that perspective all we have to do is prove that he sacrificed the entire city for this"

Bluesworth sighs "which is easier said than done, thank you for the help judge Thomas lets move on"

Thomas and Bluesworth move back to Bluesworth's office and think about all the evidence, trying to piece together what happened.

Bluesworth looks at the map "we won't find anything else here, there have to be more clues somewhere else, hm we should try to look for in capital"

Thomas looks a bit puzzled "why in there"

Bluesworth smiles "the capital is where the command center is admirals offices are there as well, and I have a friend who can dig into the documents for us working there"

Thomas "I see well I guess in cases like this legal way isn't the best option"

Bluesworth " well that true but we should thread carefully, you know better then I do that soon we will be walking into the legal gray area"

Thomas smiles "that's true it does remind me of my childhood, to be honest well more specifically during my academy days"

Bluesworth "so you were trouble maker huh "

Thomas laughs "haha I guess that's 1 way to put it"

Thomas smiled "that's when I meet Jaina and Daiman, back we got close quickly Jaina was always a prankster, because of her we got into trouble a lot, but it wouldn't be fair to say that it wasn't fun, besides I wasn't only trouble maker around"

Bluesworth "I noticed they were ignored as long as they didn't do something very stupid"

Thomas "true as for Jaina and Daiman they really loved their father"

Bluesworth "Mr. Brown ?"

Thomas "yeah Mr. Brown had 3 adopted children and 1 biological child, I don't know what happened to his previous marriage, but they broke up and the woman took the child with her"

Bluesworth leans on the wall "sounds pretty rough"

Thomas sighs "yeah it was he never truly got over it, or well it didn't seem so until he found his new family, After Jaina Daiman Kyle he started moving on it seems"

Thomas then looks down "honestly I'm going to have to dig through all the files they saved from the invasion"

Bluesworth looks at Thomas "why"

Thomas looks outside of the window to the right at the sea" there must have been something else, Stewart wouldn't have gone after him this hard just for this especially if we consider the invasion "

Bluesworth walks over to the chair and sits can you tell me more about their family

Thomas "there isn't much to say, Daiman idolized Mr. Brown Jaina came from the streets other than few incidents she changed for better, Daiman was confused on what he wanted ill have to say his choice to become pirate was rather very sudden"

Bluesworth "sounds like it, but what about Mr. Brown "

Thomas sighs "I don't know much about much about him, but he did help my family a lot so I owe him a lot honestly"

Bluesworth "so he didn't seem to do anything suspicious well I'm not sure, id have to look it up I heard few things in my academy years, but nothing was proven in the end "

Bluesworth "well look into it later than, but first let's make sure everyone gets to the capital safely"

Thomas nods "you're right"

Bluesworth "go around the ship and see if anyone needs anything
