ARC 2 The Invasion Part 2

Thomas rushed down the street and got to the western part of downtown.

Thomas looks at the soldier "where the captain"

Soldier "his at that damaged house over there sir"

Soldier turns and points to house which has small part of it deep-frozen, it had unlike few others blue roof building was made out of wood and slate it seemed like family home, with 2 floors once Thomas got in it seems to have had 1 kitchen living room on the first floor both are decently sized, and had high quality items kitchen equipment and furniture, after he went upstairs he saw the captain he was an older man looks like he's in the late 30s, (which in this world means his btw 40 to 50 years old although he age bit rapidly, his life span was cut short due to an incident on the battlefield ) he was very fit he wore blue uniform with black strap going from left shoulder, down to his right side of his stomach it had multiple badges on it, he had black clouded raiper he also wore what seemed like steel vest bellow, but something was off about it Thomas couldn't tell what it was he turns towards. Thomas noticed he had very Sirius expression he didn't look shocked if anything he was a little worried then he cheered up when he has seen Thomas.

Captian smiled "ah you must be Police Captain Thomas my name is David T Bluesworth"

Thomas almost started fanboying but keeps himself calm and collected "you mean the Captain Bluesworth veteran and the hero of the battle for Torin Archipelago"

Captain Bluesworth "I see you heard of it, to be honest, to be considered that the whole thing could have been avoided..."

Thomas nods "That is true but well I guess nothing can be done about that now"

Captian Bluesworth "yes well, either way, we have more important matters" Captian Bluesworth puts down the picture of him and his family

Thomas "I hope they are safe"

Captian Bluesworth "I do too I came back home for vacation, but well we can both tell how this turned out what can I do for you Thomas"

Thomas "I'm here to see if there's anything I can do to help sir "

Captain Bluesworth "in fact yes I need you to help hold off cthulians in this part of the city" points at the west part of the city on the map on the table "until all civilians are evacuated and then order a slow retreat to the center, I will go and secure east and south ports"

Thomas nods "ill go right away "

they both head downstairs go their separate ways.

Thomas heads into the west port and joins the soldiers in 2nd line, who are holding off halflings and cthulians successfully.

Thomas pulls down a wounded soldier who was trying to fight"ill go take over from here"

soldier nods and Thomas pulls his rifle it uses magic crystals as ammo, but unlike Rebbecas they used air element as soon as he shots bullets where much faster, and if enemy was close enough they shot thoguh the enemy if they wear light armor, the Cthulian hid behind the debris and then created and grew bunch of ice spears at once at the wall, they easily penetrated the wood and stones one almost hit Thomas "ah crap" after the impact few other soldiers around him where dead

Thomas "hmm well have to deal with that thing" he can clearly see Cthulian.

Thomas turns to soldier on his right "go get hand ballista ill lure the cthulian in the open and buy us more time"

Thomas runs over to the left where the grounds higher then looks around

hm, I need to lure him away from water..."

Thomas looks around "hm I could lure him into the higher ground but surviving that is a problem hm ill need to hurry he is causing too much damage "

Thomas jumps over the barrier and rushes to the building, uses the rifle to shot and kill halfling in his way.

The houses where abandoned family homes btw 1 to 2 floor, do to cannon shots flood and cthulians attacks they were wrecked withs lots of debris and puddles.

Thomas moved to the house with 2 floors and seen and seen large very bulky figure, with face covered by crab shell and 1 very large hand and other being large crab, claw which is held in the air while charing, 1 large ice spear Thomas quickly shot the cthulian in the face, and went to cover the shot didn't really harm it as much as it just felt like a sting, but it hit strong enough to disrupt the charging.

Cthulian "you will pay for that" then he turns around and swings while reforming large ice spear, which hits close to where Thomas was at.

Thomas "crap that was close" then he pushes the button on his rifle although his rifle looked like ordinary gun from it had large magazine scope, and one barrel it did have buttons which allow Thomas to chose what element will sniper shot be he then clicks 2nd button, and line on rifle turns red line indicated what element his using, and it was located thoguh the magazine then he shots fire round at cthulian, cthulian blocks it with claw .

Cthulian "I hear you" then he charges and effortlessly breaks through the wall and looks around "you cannot hide forever"

Thomas "well see about that " as Thomas rushes to another house cthulian shots out ice shuriken, formed out of water after which it charges from building cornering Thomas, Thomas quickly jumps to right dodging crab, claw bearly Thomas then shots cthulian in the face with flare like hit blinding it then jumps through the window and quickly goes into hiding.

Thomas thinks to himself "that way too close..."

cthulian throws balls of water in different buildings and walks around.

Thomas "so he's trying to reduce my mobility huh" Thomas looks out of the window to look for trying to find cthulians location and where t ogo "ugh its hard to tell where he put the water but at and where is, at least the streets are clean I need to move closer to our lines which is 100 meters away, well here goes nothing" Thomas goes thoguh the kitchen and jumps out of window and as soon as he gets int opening he gets hit by ice shuriken in the leg .

Thomas looks really hurt "argh! " then he kneels.

cthulian shots more shurikens at him after which Thomas rolls, and gets up and sees cthulian approaching

Cthulian grins" I got you now" he rushes he tried to rush in and grab him with claw

Cthulian hit the wall with the claw but Thomas rolled backward

Cthulian looks very angry"Slippery little bastard"

Cthulian then uses the water he put on the ground begun forming it into ice, Thomas moved out of the way bearly but it hit and froze the window, then grabbed Thomas quickly with his left arm before Thomas could do anything and after that begun trying to crush him slowly.

Thomas argh!

Thomas then managed to free one of his arms which had firebomb but the bomb, unlike normal one which looks more shiny looks more black and looks like it has something shiny inside of it, then he throws it at cthulian and closes his eyes then cthulian gets hit and trows Thomas very high up to the right over at the top of the building.

Thomas hit the top of the building then manages told on after bouncing to the other side, and then try carefully back down to the streets but ends up falling down

Thomas "dammit" gets up and he hears the wave of water approaching the wave swept him away into the wall of nearby storage after which he hit it and sit down unable to move.

A soldier notices cthulian and Thomas and screams"QUICK BRING THE BALISTA WE HAVE TO SAVE THE CAPTIAN"

Cthulian "Say your prayers !"

Cthulian was charging at wounded Thomas who was sitting down beaten up.

Soldier "FIRE "

They shot the hand ballista pushing the large muscular soldier back, but it penetrated cthulian thoguh soft part of its body and pierced through it after which it fell down.

Soldier "I think we killed it lets pick up the Captain"

soldiers run over and pick up Thomas.

Soldier "well carry over to doctors Captian"

Thomas "nice shot"

Soldier smiles thank you, sir,

after getting back over the barrier, Thomas turned back and have seen that there was just ballista shot pulled out and blood drops leading behind the building in the east moving away from them

Thomas "appears you didn't kill it after all what the hell does take to take one of them down..."

Soldier look shocked"what the hell"

Thomas "reinforce this position we can't leave any opening"

meanwhile.

20 minutes later Daiman and Jaina arrive near the port.

Jaina looks at Thomas "do you have any plan already what are we gonna tell them"

Daiman looks slightly nervous "well I'm working on it"

Jaina looks angry "YOU HAVE NO IDEA DO YOU"

Daiman "they will let us help them, besides I'm sure they will need all the help they can get, I can already tell things are getting pretty bad "

Jaina sighs and rolls her eyes "that's true I guess"

Daiman "anyways were almost there"

Soldier runs off to the Captian Bluesworths location.

Captian Bluesworth "set up the defensive parameter at the northeast part and heavily fortify, we can't afford her and her forces getting this far so quickly."

The soldier comes in and salutes"Captian pirates are approaching what should we do"

Captian Bluesworth "take me there I will deal with them myself"

Jaina smiles and pats Thomas "you better be convincing, that's Captian Bluesworth the war hero and he has likely the whole army back there too"

Daiman "I heard the stories I know well who he is most importantly he lives here "

Jaina "huh that's a common ground then don't get your hopes up too much for now"

Jaina pats Daiman and sounds sarcastic "alright our magnificent leader, its time for you to try and negotiate our way out of trouble" and then head to the other end of the ship.

Daiman "um why are you going all the way back there"

Jaina smirks "oh I am waiting for the right moment to interfere when you inevitably screw it up because you do not have a plan"

Daiman looks pretty annoyed "thanks for the words of convincing"

Jaina smirks and winks "you're Wellcome bro"

Captian Bluesworth "Why are you here"

Daiman "we are here to help with the evacuation of the city where we are born"

Captian Bluesworth looks at reports "you killed 1 entire crew pf a patrol ship, and it says that you were after some gold and supplies in the city, and of course, stolen that ship not to mention other allegations admiral Stewart made"

Daiman "guilty as charged but Stewarts hates me and my family, but I still want to help my friends and family get out safely"

Captian Bluesworth "hmm, even so, I can't just let you in now can we be sure you arent lying or that you are not going to open the way for the pirate fleet."

Daiman "I do not have any contacts with any pirate fleet hell it hasn't been even a day since the incident"

Jaina sighs and mumbling to herself "he is isn't going to bring it up now is he...."

Captian Bluesworth "hm that's not much of an argument "

Captian Bluesworth the pulls his rapier out "last warning get out of here or get destroyed "

Jaina gets in from of Daiman whispers "let me talk you're going to get us killed"

Daiman looks frustrated "fine ....." then steps away

Jaina "what my brother failed to bring up is that admiral Stewart and his men where problem for my father and the bar for years by now, they have been string up conflict causing trouble trying to get him on something until one day, father lost his temper and reacted violently by getting into brawl Stewarts son, out after which he captured and executed our father illegally by eliminating any chance he had to defend himself, and if you wanna confirm my story well there's easy way to do that sir talk to the old granny judge"

Captian Bluesworth "sheathing his sword and says we will see if that story is true or not "

Captian Bluesworth "then turns alright let them dock then turns back you will be fighting with the soldiers to hold off invaders in the norths considering the report you 2 seem like someone I can count on "

Daiman nods "alright"

After which they docked the ship and got on the surface, Jaina and Daiman joined the large group that went up to the north.

Captian Bluesworth "lets hope this wasn't a mistake, but now that I think about it why was this city so unprotected, it is a very important Port for the kingdom and its in admiral Stewarts region no less, then few weeks after fleets have retreated from 2 other regions in the kingdom hmmm something is up here "

Meanwhile in Cthulu Faction controlled territory.

Previously injured Cthulian arrives then the other one looks at him "fool you underestimated them and played around too much, if I was in charge I would have swiftly dealt with likes of you" cthulian with octopus upper body and human legs however unlike the other one he was bulky he was very slender and able to move much quicker .

Crablike Cthulian "clenches his fist but keeps his cool I will do better next time"

Octopuslike Cthulian "that you will you will go in and infiltrate enemy lines and create an opening in their defense."

Crablike Cthulian "yes sir.."
