19 Conflicts

Three people remained in Richard's office. Indra sat across Richard, while Ema stood next to him exasperated, as she continued to look at him with conflict.

Why had he shown himself now, when most of the damage had been done? She felt that the man in front of her, remained unperturbed and oblivious to the huge storm brewing, and what's to strike in the near future.

"Now that we're here, hurry up and tell me man. Where have you been?" Richard replied as he was fidgeted his hands in anticipation.

"Space," was all he said to silence the room even further. Richard and Ema were both quite surprised, especially Ema. Was he trying to coax them into believing such a thing?

He narrated the remaining events, excluding the identity of Zenith and how he he became stronger with the help of the sun. Though the trust in his friend was immense, the person next to him an entirely different matter altogether.

Radiating full of hostility, he did not want to take any risk about exposing information which could harm others around him.

As soon as Indra finished, both the people across were not only astounded, but also amazed by his experiences, and even more so at his strength. His strength remaining the same was something which surprised Richard even further. Considering the full scale of battle which transpired between Indra and his nemesis.

Such a matter was unheard of. Though the hostility around Indra has lessened after a certain someone, nonetheless, it did not disappear entirely.

"If I was there, we both could've taken Daemon down." Richard banged the table in frustration.

"Hey, it's alright; besides I had to do this by myself. Never thought I would get out of it alive." Indra stated, as he briefly thought back to his fight.

If he managed to survived, then somewhere within the dark streets of this city, it was possible that his nemesis was alive too.

"Then it's possible that he was injured just like you and hasn't appeared or is dead." Richard concluded. Nodding his head in agreement, Indra cupped his chin, as he thought of the same possibility.

When he was injured, Daemon was nowhere to be found. Chances were very slim, but he had a sense of foreboding that Daemon was going to knock on his door with a much greater force.

"Now, it's time to tell me what happened the last thousand years I was gone. What happened to the Dark Wolf faction?" Indra questioned Richard, who's eyes flashed with immense rage momentarily before returning to his usual demeanor.

"Those imbeciles have perished a long time ago."

"That's great Wimpy, but why do you sound disappointed?" Richard's sudden change in emotion did not go unnoticed by Indra.

"After you disappeared, the entire continent gathered it's remaining forces and tried to put an end to Dark Wolf faction, killing most of their members. However, two people managed to escape. One of them being Aaron." He responded. Indra raised his eyebrow noticing a slight error in his sentence.

"I don't understand, if the commander himself had been killed, then how was someone weaker than him able to escape?" He asked.

"That's where I was getting at. A mysterious cloaked person saved him and escaped from the scene. Though that person was not as strong, that person's speed however, was a different story. She exceeded speeds, which none of us could catch up to." Richard sighed in frustration as he rocked his chair back in regret.

"Since then, the mysterious person never reappeared, but we were able to find out that Aaron was still alive. He is now the current CEO of DW-Industries." Indra was speechless.

He was well aware of one of the top leading companies in the world, when he researched it back in Freddy's house.

Not only are they one of suppliers for the pharmaceutical companies, they are a billion dollar company rivaling Golden Enterprises. Their medicines have ushered a new era for modern science, allowing people to be healthier.

Indra wasn't a fool. That level of façade was only on the outside. There had been a few incidents, where several people had filed a lawsuit against the company, due to the incorrect dosage of medicines.

When they took it, some people's nervous system became paralyzed crippling their bodies in a span of a few weeks. Due to it's potency, those who suffered decided to expose the treacherous company and it's illegal act.

However, few days after the protests and lawsuit in progress, not only did the case get closed, the people who protested withdrew their testimony and never appeared in public.

Knowing that a former member of Dark Wolf Faction was now the head of a leading company, things were going to get extremely dangerous. Indra had to stop it completely; although this time, without doubting his own abilities.

"Aren't you and your company strong enough to take them down? Back then, you gave that guy a run for his money." Indra snickered, as he noticed Richard tense up. He slowly started to shiver, along with Ema, catching Indra off guard.

Shiver? What on earth had happened to Richard, to shiver and become completely stiff? A man who was hailed as one of Indra's strongest allies. Walking over to him, Indra placed a hand on his shoulder and calmed him down.

"Richard I need you to calm down first, and tell me what happened. It's unlike you."

"He killed my most precious student. That man is a monster Indra, you will die if you ever face him." Seeing Richard panic, Indra gathered some energy and transferred it to him. As soon as the golden light was absorbed by Richard, his complexion turned better.

"After we defeated the faction, we all celebrated and they never once appeared, until a hundred years ago. Initially establishing themselves as DW-Company, they soon took over the United States and now became one of the top companies in the world. The only way they were able to do it was-"

"Demonification. Those bastards used demonification didn't they?" Indra interrupted Richard, who nodded silently.

Ema handed of him a glass of water, and stood by his side silently as she listened to the ongoing conversation.

Though she also just found out who killed Richard's precious student, she too was aware of Aaron's strength. That man was cold, calculating and never spared his enemies.

"I knew it, back then when we all dedicated ourselves to training, Daemon was the only one who chose demonification not knowing the true side effects to it. By the time he did, he had lost himself. As if he became another being entirely." Indra responded.

Once a person performed demonification, his abilities, lifespan and even his regenerative abilities would increase by five times their original strength. Just as invincible as it sounds, when a person consumes more and more of it, they slowly start to lose their minds, eventually turning them into mummified zombies.

"But now that you are here, I can finally hand you over this position of mine and follow along side you like I always did."

"What!" Ema was the first to shout. Indra was just as astonished, but later realized that his friend had been waiting for him for too long.

"Stop screaming Ema, I've already told you, I built this company solely for the sake of Indra. He has the ability to save many more lives and lead our company to prosperity."

'Slam'

A tablet was thrown across the wall. Broken pieces scatter to the ground, as Ema look up towards Richard in anger.

"I don't get it. When you always said he would come, I was initially happy, that you yearned for you friend."

Indra and Richard remained silent as they continued to listen to Ema.

"But after you said this CEO position was meant for this man, I was mad. You worked so hard for this company, and you were solely responsible for making our lives better. Now all of a sudden, you bring your friend here, and try to make him the CEO? Who knows if he really is a friend or an enemy?"

"Watch your words Ema. Like I always say, I am thankful for saving you guys. However, being able to lead this company and put a stop to DW-Industries' cruel acts is not within my capabilities. It is Indra's." Richard refuted as he walked towards Ema, arguing with her. Having enough this rant between them, Indra finally spoke up.

"Shut up!" They both continued to speak incessantly.

"I said shut it!" He yelled. That was it. They kept quiet silently, as they noticed his eye's turn golden and his aura, pressuring them to stop. Such strength. No, what they both felt was total authority. Indra retracted his aura as soon as they turned silent.

"Before you both go on rambling about who the bloody CEO is, I for one, have no interest in this measly little position. I can stop DW-Industries in my own way Wimpy." He then pointed his finger towards Ema, which caused her to take a step back.

"As for you woman, before you start bantering like a little child throwing a tantrum, understand this, you have no right to interfere between Wimpy and I. We have been the best of friends, long before you even existed. I'd highly advise you to speak carefully next time."

"Who do you think you are, to come here and tell me what to do. It's no wonder that Daemon wanted you dead."

'Slap'

A loud smack resounded within the room.

"One more-One more word about Indra and you are dead. You are fired, now get out!" Richard yelled, as Ema slowly walked out and slammed the door. Returning to his seat, Richard closed his eyes and signaled Indra to sit down.

"That was a bit too much." Indra stated.

"I had to do this. She has to be ready to work for you as the new CEO." Richard said. Indra shook his head in annoyance. Which part of not wanting to be a CEO had Richard not heard? Though Indra was grateful for him waiting all these years for his arrival, he would never take that which is not his.

"I already said I do not want it. Why don't you understand?"

"I'm tired man. I am very tired. This feeble body has gotten weak over the years. So before you say no, just this once, please become the leader which everyone desires. Many people need you now more than they need me." Richard pleaded to Indra.

Nothing. Not a single word came out of Indra. He had never seen his friend ask him with such desperation.

"Seriously though, if you kept training, wouldn't you have had more energy? Your body would have evolved further you old man. But it looks like you're still stuck in the same realm." Indra responded. It was strange how Richard, who was so talented during his prime, was now weakening.

"I'm at the peak of Emperor's realm, while you're more of a monster than I'll ever be. Aren't you one realm higher then me?"

"That was a long time ago, but after absorbing the energy from the sun, I felt like I have broken my own limits. Like a bottomless pit. I think.....I might've transcended Cosmic realm. " Indra whispered towards his ear. Richard simply spat the water on his face and looked at him incredulously.

"Well, just keep it between us." Indra sighed as he slowly wiped his face.
