Speech!

Applause and cheers came from all directions.

The students were not expecting for this to happen, the last time the speech was done by the headmaster was hundreds of years ago, since then students have barely seen him.

With a snap of his fingers, a perfectly smooth white and black bracelets appeared in front of the students.

"Alright everyone, settle down" He said, waving his hand

"Well, for those that are unfamiliar with me, my name is 'Xoul'. I am the 28th headmaster of the Gridin Magic Academy, have been for hundreds of years and will be for hundreds more. I have returned from a long journey, and decided to meet you all"

Another round of applause and cheers filled the place.

To angel, the atmosphere felt like he was in the cinema, it was dark and people's applause added to it.

Most people had grabbed one of the bracelets floating in front of them, waiting for further explanations.

Others wore them, already knowing what they are and what to do with them. The place was too dark for others to see each other, not like anybody had taken their eyes off of the headmaster.

"Alright kids, these are our academy's artifacts, they are called the 'Con'. each and every one of those is connected to our academy's core" The headmaster explained, holding one in his hand

"Due to some unfortunate incidents in the past, these magical items have been created to keep you safe and keep you up with your current level. Lose yours and you won't be recognized as a student of the academy and will be forced to purchase another from your own pockets. By the way, they are extremely expensive"

Angel held the bracelet in his hands like it was a precious treasure, he looked around, barely managing to see people wearing theirs, so he wore it as well.

"From what i'm seeing, some of you didn't wait till the start of the year to test your attuned elements, and turned to others for help" said the headmaster, looking at the people in robes

"I would say it was a waste of money, since suitable cultivation techniques belong to the academy and other mages are not allowed to sell theirs. Most of you probably used the knowledge of their element to prepare all materials and magical equipment for when a cultivation method is available" He shook his head

"Again, a waste of money. You were impatient. Even with a cultivation method, it will take you until you have enough mana to use the materials safely and that would happen only after proper practice and time. You would have had enough time to prepare in that period"

Cries of anger came from the crowd, some cussed at the mages that took their money, while others sighed.

Suddenly, Angel was startled. The headmaster was looking straight at him, he wore a puzzled look.

A voice spoke in angels head, it was calm but anger and annoyance were obvious.

"Your mana core has mana. It might not be much but it's there. You have some explaining to do, kid" Angel looked around startled, But the voice sounded familiar.

"It's the headmaster, he used telepathy. I didn't think he would detect your progress" Said Loi, worried.

"Alright, for those unaware of what element they carry, the bracelets will inform you after proper analysis. It might take a day for it to give a response. When the time is right, it will light up. Press it and the elements will appear as a drawing on it." The headmaster explained "Now, i'll be leaving you with professor Tola"

The headmaster pointed at a beautiful woman off stage, she walked over and thanked him.

"Ok, let's talk about proper behavior and our school's history. Whomever falls asleep i'll deduct 100 merit points from him"

Another wave of sighs came from the audience.

The headmaster stepped back, waving his hand, disappearing from the stage.

What everyone missed was that one of the students present vanished as well. It was Angel.

One second, Angel was sitting in a comfortable chair, unable to take his eyes off of the Real beauty on stage.

The other he appeared in an office, It was average, wooden desk, files stocked in an impressive tower on top of it, with a huge chair on the other side.

The headmaster sat on it, resting his elbows on the armrests while holding his chin with one hand.

"Speak" It was one word, but Angel felt surprised, finding it hard to breath.

"Fuck" Angel and Loi's thoughts were similar.

"Sir, i did not purchase a cultivation method from a mage" Angel blurted out, stuttering in some words. He knew exactly what the headmaster meant and what consequences there will be if he did not explain himself.

"Where did you get it" the headmaster spoke once more, his eyes seeming a bit calmer. If what Angel just said was spoken to another person, he would have been called a liar and gotten in deeper trouble.

But the headmaster wasn't anybody, when Angel spoke, his eyes shone a bit, unnoticed by Angel.

"My cultivation method does not belong to the academy, is there any way to prove that?" Angel knew he had no power here and running around the bush would only trigger The headmaster's anger.

"There is" The headmaster spoke, leaning a bit forward "Use it, and i'll be the judge"

Angel swallowed the lump in his throat and calmed down.

From what Loi informed him at that moment is that the cultivation method Angel practices does not belong to the mortal world, or to put it in better terms. It did not get the chance to be involved.

Loi got his hands on it first.

Angel took a deep breath, a wave of pure world energy went in. a couple seconds later another wave of pure impurities leaves. The whole thing happened as if it was a normal breathing process, moving air in and out.

"Interesting" The headmaster said "I've lived for many centuries but i've never seen this technique, may i ask where you got your hands on it?" asked the headmaster, smiling. His dominating presence was replaced with a friendly and gentle aura.

"It was a gift, I don't think I have the liberty to say whom I got it from, I apologize" said Angel, fully aware of his inability to lie or it would be detected. Speaking only part of the truth.

The headmaster sighed "Too bad, it seemed like a powerful technique, but i won't push him any further." He thought.

"Alright, i understand. I apologize for the misunderstanding, and don't worry about professor Tola's speech, it's a boring long way to tell students to behave." the headmaster smiled, opening the drawer in his desk and grabbing something, handing it to Angel.

Angel didn't ask questions, he grabbed the object from the headmaster's extended hand and looked at him.

"Count it as a compensation, it's a Fire Seed" He explained "I'm not sure about your other element yet but i know that one of them is Fire. That Seed is extremely useful to you, eat it."

Without hesitation. Angel threw the little peanut looking red Seed into his mouth.

Of course he's not that stupid, He ate it after Loi's confirmation.

"That Seed will merge with your mana core, Enhancing your fire elemental attunement, it will grow stronger with you. I got my hands on some and giving it to you doesn't seem like a waste." The headmaster snapped his finger, making Angel appear back in his chair with some words
