10 Lecture Hall

Angel laid on his bed, unmoving. His body shaking like there is something trying to get out, it was both odd and disturbing.

An hour later, Angel stopped moving and laid there, passed out.

In the middle of the night, Angel awoke, he looked around, the memory of what he just went through flashed and he flinched, still unable to forget the pain.

As he tried to get up, he found himself stuck to the bed, something was preventing him from getting up. Angel looked down, confused, seeing some type of substance all over his body and clothes, it looked nothing like the black stuff that came out of him the first time he had a breakthrough.

"What is this?" Angel muttered, using force to remove himself from the bed.

"You're finally awake, how do you feel?" Loi was worried that something might have happened to Angel, but when he was about to panic Angel woke up.

"I feel fine, energetic even" Said Angel, still looking at the substance.

It was grey with some black dots inside it. Angel took off his clothes and asked Loi about it.

"That's the same stuff, the only difference is your body.

Since the first Breakthrough, you became tougher, but it wasn't a big deal since before you only became fit for an average human, but now you had to go beyond that, which is why the pain was worse, your cells started to change and mutate, and the part that was affected in this breakthrough is your skin." Loi explained.

As Angel was showering at this point, listening to Loi's explanation, he looked at himself, finding no changes whatsoever.

"The change isn't something you see, from what I know, your skin should be able to withstand an attack from an average weapon, when you're done, grab a knife and try to poke yourself." Loi kept trying to remember what he read in the Techniques journal.

As Angel was all dressed, he grabbed a knife from the Ring's Void storage and tried to poke his finger. He hesitated at first but then went for it.

A look of surprise appeared on his face, as he tried to poke himself, he felt no pain, let alone do any harm.

"What the hell" Angel muttered, repeating it over and over again.

As he tried to put more strength into it, it bore no result until he gave it his all that the knife managed to pierce the skin and little blood seeped out.

"This is AWESOME" Angel yelled, he tried the same thing with the rest of his body and the same thing happened.

From what he noticed, only his skin was tough, but when the knife would go through, there was no further resistance other than the skin on the sides of the knife. Either way Angel felt excited, forgetting the hellish pain he just went through.

As his eyes passed his watch, seeing the time, which was past midnight by now, Angel wanted to get some sleep before his first day tomorrow.

Walking out of the Tower, Angel and Silio headed towards the Main Hall. From what they were told, a door would lead them inside the Academy, the real Academy. Link wore his Red robe, the flame on his sleeve dancing as he moved his arms, while the air followed the flow of Angels movement, making both of them seem alive.

As they reached their destination, to their surprise, the Main Hall was not crowded, only a few students walked to and from the place.

Multiple giant doors stood on the other side of the Hall, making Angel doubt himself, unsure if they were there from the beginning or not.

Angel shrugged and walked towards them. On the left, were doors with a red aura, indicating that people were not allowed to pass through this way, since it is used the other way around. Angel saw a student walk out from the door, it was like a sheet of water, the white robed apprentice passed through smoothly and walked towards the Pillar.

On the right, there were doors with green-ish aura, with students walking in, heading towards their classes.

There was no line, Students just passed through as the number and size of the doors was enough for even when the whole Academy wanted to pass at the same time.

Angel and Silio passed, Angel felt nothing, it was as if he was walking normally.

As they looked up, they saw a whole different environment. They stood on a walkway, facing a giant building.

The building itself seemed to be an enormous castle, straight from the wet dreams of a medieval engineer. Yet it was impossible to see it clearly, they were still too far away.

The Academy was in the centre of a huge forest that extended in all directions as far as the eye could see.

"This is incredible, this place is out of this world" Angel thought.

"It is" Said Loi, laughing.

As Angel looked left and right, he could see few flowers and trees decorating the path towards the castle, as he kept looking, he noticed an invisible force waving around the whole area, extending towards the castle and some of the woods.

"Come on, let's go" Said Silio, unable to get his eyes off of the scene in front of him, he only read about the place or heard stories but never thought it would be this beautiful.

The path was wide, enough for carriages, mounts, students and even some golems to pass without a problem.

As Angel looked back, he was confused. A carriage the size of a car passed through the giant door, moving smoothly along the path.

"Were there a carriage behind us at the Main Hall?" Angel could have sworn there were no carriages behind them.

"The Gates at the Main Hall are not the only ones available for use. From what my father told me, Other kingdoms and towns closest to the Academy have their own Gates and Portals, for the residents' use if a reborn was discovered." Silio explained.

Angel kept looking at the huge Carriage, it was decorated with golden lines and fancy small wooden statues of phoenixs.

As it got closer, Angel could see a gorgeous girl with red hair looking out the window, she had an indifferent expression. As the carriage passed Angel, they both locked eyes. Angel smiled at the girl, since they locked eyes he wanted to greet her somehow, but to his disappointment, the girl stared at him for a bit and looked away, ignoring him.

"Well that was awkward" Loi stated, chuckling.

"Shut up"

The distance between the gate and the castle was a bit long, but they got there in the end.

The castle Gate was huge, having enough space for an airplane to pass through.

Link and Silio passed, walking in an open space where so many apprentices were sitting, some were reading while others practicing some low level spells.

Entering the castle, Angel saw so many stairs leading to different floors and each floor having its own different sections.

After checking their 'Con' for the directions, Angel and Silio walked to the second floor, heading towards their classroom.

As they entered, the place looked similar to a college lecture hall. Students sat at the back, filling most of the places. Which confused Angel since it would be a little hard for them to hear or see the professor.

Silio saw the look on Angel's face and explained.

"Those are commoners, like we are. They sit there to stay as far as they could from the nobles and magic descendents. My father managed to get some information for me from a mage that graduated, he said that Commoners are bullied a lot, and are treated like crap by all the other students."

Angel frowned, he already knew something like that was happening, but he didn't think it would be this bad.

Looking around, Angel found a perfect seat for himself and Silio, it was in the middle, facing the board and with a great view.

As Angel started walking towards the spot, he felt someone pulling his sleeve.

"Where are you going, we should sit here" Said Silio, pointing at some spots near the other Commoners.

Angel frowned again, he didn't want to sit there and will not, he barely got the opportunity to be Reborn and now some spoiled rich kids will try to ruin it for him.

"Sorry Silio, but i don't want to miss anything in the lecture." Angel said, walking towards the seat he had his eyes on.

He sat down, getting comfortable and waiting for the lecture to start. From behind him, the Commoners were looking at him as if they were looking at an idiot, some looked at him with pity.
