37 Chapter Thirty Seven - Corpse Demon Mountain

According to Yue Feng there were nine main families in the blood world while branch families of each were located in Khaggurin city which is where they were currently located. Among the families were the Qiyuan, Yue, Mo, Xiong, Yang, Qin, Nangong, Zhu and Du family of which were two factions. As leading figures of the opposing factions the Yue family and the Qiyuan family were the most hostile towards each other which was the reason for Qiyuan ShiDe's behavior earlier. Qiyuan Xia is the daughter of the main family head of the Qiyuan family and a branch family of the Yang family. It is said she was the result of the affection of two cousins. As both parents were people of relevant status Qiyuan Xia had to travel between cities to visit her parents.

"The main families are all located in the central city of the Yibbusian Dynasty, where all the family decisions are made, as someone who grew up outside the family visiting the main family should be your prime objective now. Luckily the spatial circle headed for the capital is only a month from now. If you had arrived any later you would have to wait another three months or travel there by foot" Yue Feng stroked his beard nonchalantly and glanced at Yue Chen. Something about Yue Chen made his blood run cold which was a huge surprise to Yue Feng who was already at the Sky realm. This must be another young genius of the family, if i can curry favor before he reaches his prime... hehehe.

Yue Chen stopped and turned to Yue Feng with a blank look "Which direction is the Yue family?"

Under Yue Feng's guidance Yue Chen quickly found the Yue family household and received a warm welcome, which surprised Yue Chen momentarily.

As Yue Feng had important matters to attend to Yue Chen was assigned a personal assistant by the name Geng Huan .

Before being assigned to Yue Chen, Geng Huan was warned not to disappoint Yue Chen and to assist him as best as possible regardless of what he needed and to report directly to Yue Feng if she couldn't.

"Geng Huan , does the branch family have any training rooms? take me there" Yue Chen said to Geng Huan

Geng Huan nodded and proceeded to lead Yue Chen to an empty training room owned by the Yue family. " The spirit energy here pales in comparison to the main family's but i hope it can placate your needs" as she approached the entrance of the training room Geng Huan smiled and gestured at Yue Chen to enter.

Yue Chen nodded but didn't say anything. The blood world had spirit energy a hundred times thicker than what Yue Chen was accustomed to, who was to say a training room wouldn't be perfect for speeding up his cultivation?

Yue Chen entered the training room where he was followed by Geng Huan. Since he wasn't on the run he could properly train both his Shadow and Ice techniques.

"You can go now" Yue Chen dismissed Geng Huan and looked at the various training equipment that had been placed in the room and sighed. Finding a comfortable spot Yue Chen started to cultivate.

Being at the Second sky of the human realm Yue Chen lacked combat skills which made fighting difficult. Yue Chen closed his eyes and recounted the new skills he had received along with the manual.

These were the techniques he had acquired with one being a movement technique. Yue Chen was more familiar with [Besieged Seventh Vortex] than the others since it was the only technique with devastating attack power so he had spent more time training with this technique.

After he was finished assessing his skillset Yue Chen started his cultivation. Since neither of his elemental attributes were conflicting he assumed it would be safe to cultivate them both at once. The shadow attribute was a rare element yet it was less sought after than any other attributes due to it's small offensive skill set and capabilities. While the shadow attribute wasn't well versed in head on combat it was still useful for pursuits,hindering, tracking, evading or even binding an opponent which made it an ideal skill for an assassination. Yue Chen had become accustomed to being oppressed due to being on the weaker side. While he was considered a genius back in the Xuanhua Academy but that was only within the Academy. Ever since he was forced to flee the empire his odds of survival has plummeted. Had his foster father not extended a helping hand his demise would have become a reality so in order to strengthen his odds of survival Yue Chen was prepared to embrace his second shot at cultivation.

Two weeks later

Taking a deep breath Yue Chen stood up. Popping sounds could be heard coming from his joints as he relaxed his muscles. The pure spirit energy in the air stirred with his every breath. During the time he had entered closed door cultivation Yue Chen had closed off his five senses but now that he was out the stench of the impurities released from his pores were pungent enough to make him teary. Opening the door Yue Chen was greeted by Geng Huan who had been standing in the position Yue Chen had left her.

"Good Afternoon Young Master Chen....." Geng Huan frowned as she greeted Yue Chen and took a few steps back. The pungent odor was truly hard to bear. Yue Chen was already beyond the Elementary stage which focuses mostly of ridding the body of impurities which made Geng Huan question his cultivation methods...

Yue Chen was then ushered to the bath under Geng Huan's watchful gaze. A few minutes later Yue Chen emerged from the bathroom in a fresh set of clothes that had been arranged by Geng Huan beforehand.

Geng Huan was stunned when she saw Yue Chen in the clothes she had picked out for him. Even among the young masters she had met previously Yue Chen was surely one of the most attractive. "Y-young master Chen the attire suits you" Geng Huan said as she turned away her head.

"Mn" Yue Chen nodded without much thought. He was about to bask in the fresh feeling of being clean again when a surge of spirit energy spread to the area Yue Chen was.

"There's another year until the demon beast riot, did someone enter the mountains?" Geng Huan who was also nearby felt the wave of energy and her face paled instantly.

"Do you know where that wave of energy came from?" Yue Chen frowned at Geng Huan's words. Demon beast riots often came in waves and were capable of trampling cities in their passing. Even someone at the Sky realm could be trampled to death if they were not careful! "Is there any reason a beast riot would start so suddenly?"

Geng Huan nodded as beads of sweat slid down her rosy cheek "The Corpse Demon Mountain"
