Extra 15: Dragon & Dragon Maids (42)

"Well?" - Kurama asked as he watched Kana and Lucy struggle to their feet.

After thinking of a plan, the girls decided to attack, but things didn't end up as well as they thought. Their plans ended up failing and their two attempts were over, now all that was left was to convince Kurama, or sacrifice Lucy to pass the test.

"Is there any way you can pass us, without having to sacrifice Lucy?" - Kana asked with a frown as she sat across from the white haired man.

"Convincing me, but you have to be quick, time is running out for you" - Kurama answered seriously - "Why should I let you pass?"

He started to play with the sphere and move it without concern, all in front of the annoyed gaze of Kana, who was feeling like she was losing her mind.

"Because that would be your good deed for the day?" - Lucy asked innocently, only to notice how the two people present were giving her blank stares - "What? A girl can dream."

"A tempting proposal, but no" - replied Kurama with boredom - "By the way, the time is about to end."

Kana bit her lip before sighing regretfully because there was no argument she could give to convince the white-haired man. No matter how hard she thought, she couldn't find an argument.

Lucy sighed regretfully before walking to her examiner - "I sacrifice myself for her, give her the orb, so she can pass the test."

Kurama raised an eyebrow as Kana's eyes widened in surprise at the blonde girl's words.

"What are you doing!" - Kana exclaimed in terror.

"Doing what I should have done from the beginning, we both knew we couldn't pass Kurama's test" - Lucy replied regretfully - "Besides, it's not like he's going to do anything against me."

"Are you sure?" - Kurama smiled as the girl blushed.

Kana mumbled something incomprehensible before nodding weakly.

"I'm sure you'd do the same for me if we were in the same situation, and like I said, I'm in no danger, so go ahead" - Lucy replied with a small smile.

"Thank you, Lucy" - said Kana as she nodded.

The blonde girl watched as Kana took the sphere Kurama held in his hands, and left, but not before throwing an annoyed glance at the white-haired man.

"What kind of test was this?" - Lucy asked with a frown as she looked at her "captor".

"I had two objectives, the first to see your teamwork under pressure and your ability to create countermeasures" - Kurama answered calmly - "The second was to test your unity as an improvised team."

"Unity?" - Lucy asked as her eyes widened - "The trap answer, it was the right answer!"

Kurama smiled when he heard this because the girl was right.

"Exactly, the idea was for you to sacrifice yourself for her" - replied Kurama as he saw how the girl blushed - "Do you want me to subdue you or do anything to you, Lucy-chan ~?"

"I-I don't know what you're talking about!" - Lucy exclaimed with a red face - "Please continue!"

"Ok" - nodded Kurama as he explained to her how her willing sacrifice, was the ultimate test of trust between you two.

"What would have happened if she had sacrificed me without thinking about the consequences?"- Lucy asked with concern.

"First, I would have failed her, and second, I would have been disappointed, I've only been in [Fairy Tail] for a short time, but I honestly like it here, everyone treats each other like family, and for an Uzumaki like me, family is the most important."

"I see" - nodded Lucy as she let out a sigh of relief that Kana's moral sense had gotten her through the test - "So what do I do now?"

"Depends on what you want to do" - Kurama replied as he shrugged - "I can create whatever I want, so if you need something, I can give it to you"

"Anything?" - Lucy asked with surprise and excitement.

The first thing that crossed her mind, were the golden keys, but it was obvious that these wouldn't come out so easily, the second thing was a huge pile of cosmetics and jewels, so she could make herself pretty and pay the rent, but she decided against it because that would be taking advantage of her "captor's" kindness.

"You're overthinking things, just ask for what you want, consider it a reward for your actions" - Kurama said while rolling his eyes at her.

"Then, I want the most beautiful clothes you can create" - replied Lucy seriously.

"Well, beauty is subjective, but I'll see what I can do" - nodded Kurama while snapping his fingers.

A few seconds later, Lucy was surprised to see a plain white polo shirt - ". . ."

"Relax, this garment is much better than you think, put it on" - said Kurama calmly.

Lucy gave him a glance before nodding weakly.

She quickly put on the strange polo shirt, only to notice how it glowed slightly.

When she noticed, the shirt had changed and was now a beautiful light blue blouse - "This is it!"

"Exactly, a shirt that changes shape depending on the wearer's wishes" - Kurama replied as he shrugged - "It's an invention I've been creating because my oldest daughter never knew what to wear, now we don't need to worry too much about clothes, although she still buys some clothes just for the sake of shopping!"

Lucy's look intensified because she couldn't believe that such fantastic clothes like this existed, and honestly she had a few questions - "Is there also the version for skirts and underwear?"

Kurama looked at her with surprise when he heard this question.

Lucy blushed when she heard what he had asked, but she stood her ground, after all, with this she wouldn't need to spend much more money on outfits, and that translated to having more money for rent and other things.

"Well, skirts I do have, but underwear, that would be a bit complicated" - Kurama answered while shaking his head.

"Why?" - Lucy asked, confused by these words.

"Because unlike outerwear that I can use seals to modify, expand or shrink, underwear needs more precision, which I can only do if the person concerned gives me their underwear so that the size stays the same" - replied Kurama while shaking his head.

"Oh" - Lucy blushed before walking towards a corner.

After a few minutes, she came back and handed him her underwear.

Kurama didn't know what to say, mostly because it was obvious that this was the underwear she had been wearing until recently.

"P-Please make it quick, this is more embarrassing than I thought it would be" - muttered Lucy with her cheeks red with embarrassment.

"If it embarrasses you, then don't do it!" - Kurama exclaimed in exasperation.

"I-I'm sorry, it's just that the temptation of not having to spend more money on clothes, is too great" - replied Lucy with her cheeks red as tomatoes.

Kurama sighed before agreeing and putting a seal on the girl's still warm garments.

"Interesting, I didn't think you were the first to complete the first part of the test, Kana" - said Makarov seeing how the girl appeared walking in his direction with an annoyed expression on her face - "What's wrong?"

"I" - muttered Kana as she sighed regretfully and explained the situation to the teacher.

"Oh, you mean that, Kurama-dono told me about his test, and I have to admit I feel it was too much, though at the same time I feel it makes sense, he was just preparing you for a possible future" - replied Makarov regretfully as he remembered some missions he had had during his youth.

"My future is to sacrifice my comrades to fulfill my goal?" - Kana asked with disgust.

"No, your future is to escape, so you can call for help and save your comrades" - replied Makarov seriously - "Imagine if Lucy had been caught by criminals, and she sacrificed herself, so you could escape to tell me the situation, we could go to help her right away."

"Wait, that means that in this test, the trap answer was the correct answer" - Kana muttered with her eyes wide with surprise.

"Exactly, although the trap answer, was indeed a trap" - Makarov added seriously - "If you had sacrificed Lucy for just fulfilling your wish, then I would have had no choice but to expel you from this test, and possibly I would have also prevented you from taking that test again for your entire career."

Kana was silent before nodding weakly because she understood the older guild master's point of view.

"Anyway, now you can continue with the second part of the test, you have to reach the tomb of the first guild master, and take one of the symbols of [Fairy Tail] that I have placed there, then you have to come back and give it to me, but be careful because these forests are inhabited by wild beasts" - Makarov said firmly - "I wish you good luck, Kana."

"Thank you, master" - Kana nodded before running into the forest with all her might.

Makarov smiled before watching as Happy dragged the body of an exhausted Natsu - "I see Gildarts did it again."
