2 CHAPTER 1:Reunion!

Sloane stood speechless in front of the mirror.

-"Have I turned back in time? Did God listen to my last wish?"

She examined herself. Soft and smooth skin, smaller hands, Silky black hair gently curled at the end, and big sparkling ruby red eyes that showed tenderness.

"Cecile, What year is it?"

"It's 798AD young miss," Cecile replied confused.

—"I've turned back in time. And a week before the grand ceremony."

Her heart ached as she looked at the amber pendant on which the Family symbol was engraved.

She caressed it bringing memories of her late mother.

— "Mother, thank you. I will cherish this life and I swear to protect my family at all costs."

"Cecile! Help me get ready."

"Pardon?Yes, my lady."

The maid hurried towards the wardrobe.

"Miss, would you like to wear the usual?"

Sloane had already washed up. She headed to where Cecile stood.

A wardrobe as big as a storeroom but only five rarely worn lady's dresses.

The atmosphere turned gloomy.

"Cecile... Did I always dress up like a man?"

"I'm afraid so yes," Cecile retorted.

"No wonder there are pants stuffed in this unsophisticated wardrobe."

-"My lady is acting strange today...Was she the type to be bothered with things like clothes?"

"Cecile! Prepare that white and blue dress for me."

"Isn't that from last new year's event my lady?"

"Yes. I know. Is there a problem with it?"

"No of course not. I will prepare it right away."

It was past eight in the morning Sloane finally got dressed up.

" Milady. You barely have jewelry."

"Hmm?"

"The only ones are those that were gifted to you by the marquess on your birthdays."

"No need to panic. I am fine with what I have."

"As you wish."Cecile bowed.

" Let's go! I'm already quite late for breakfast."

"Please careful. You are not used to walking in dresses. I can hold your hand if you want."

"I'm fine Cecile. I can walk on my own." Sloane smiled meekly.

She could hear the gasps and squeals of servants in astonishment in the hallway.

"Was my dressing sense that obvious in the past?"

"Milady, seeing you in a dress is a rare sight for them, "Cecile whispered.

" R-really" Sloane asked surprised.

Cecile smiled and nodded.

"We've arrived."

Cecile opened the door and Sloane entered hesitantly.

She saw her father the marquess and her seven-year-old sister Yulia.

"Sister! Good morning. Wow, you are wearing a dress today. Daddy look! Big sister looks like a princess." Yulia chimed in excitement.

"Yes, you are indeed right my daughter." he smiled gently but was equally astonished.

"You are quite late. Sloane." her father looked up at her.

—"This person. The cold-hearted marquess, who only cherished his deceased wife....did he just smile?"

Sloane was speechless. She remembered that all she ever received was a cold gaze or criticism in the past.

She sat at the opposite side facing her little sister.

-"Father never smiled once since mother died. I used to pity him."

She glanced in his direction.

Her heart ached. She didn't understand what happened after she traveled back in time.

— "Did God take pity on me? I need to know more about this situation." she thought determinedly.
