38 Three Tests!

This was about what was best for his cultivation, holding the element of surprise when the competition arrives and finally, gaining experience through adventure.

As he explained everything in details, Master Li was touched and impressed. Touched in the sense that Min Hong actually thought about the consequences the body cultivation technique would cause him, and impressed by his manner of thinking and speed of finding perfect solutions.

"You have done well. But more importantly, you have also passed my tests." Master Li abruptly said.

"Tests?" Min Hong was stunned silly.

"Of course, you didn't think I would just give you a technique and allow you barge into the path of body cultivation without testing your mentality and resolve?" Master Li chuckled slightly.

"If anything were to happen to you due to my negligence, how am I supposed to face your mother and grandfather? Even my best bud the Royal Physician wouldn't be too pleased with me?" He added.

"I subtly slot in three tests into my explanations; the first was your resolve."

"If you were scared to embark on such path after I explained to you, then you would be unworthy of even cultivating in the first place. Because cultivation naturally, means disturbing the order and balance of nature and the universe."

"If physical tribulations and pain can already scare you out of your wits, then what would happen when you reach those legendary stages where your progress would hinge on your enlightenment."

"A stage where a wrong enlightenment can ruin your future progress or even kill you, won't you stagnate? Then of what use would all your past effort be?" Master Li explained smilingly.

"Secondly, I also tested your mentality. When I explained about having multiple tribulation properties, I thought you would have been reckless and aimed to going down such path of absolute destruction."

"If you had done that, then I would have been more disappointed, because that would show that you have no regard about how everyone else who you leave behind would feel should you end up losing your life."

"Finally, I had to test your level of intellect. I wanted to know how you were planning on solving the problems about finding the resources you would need to advance each stage. Relying on people to advance in cultivation is as good as not cultivating at all."

"But since you found a solution to it, it means you are very capable, at least on a mental state. Thus, as long as you possess the capability to back up your solution plan, your advance on the cultivation path is all but assured."

"Furthermore, you decision to go on adventure, which means leaving your comfort zone and security means you are bold, daring and unafraid."

"Anyone who is afraid of going on an adventure might as well not cultivate, after all, no one can cultivate under the protection of their loved ones forever." Master Li was already laughing in contentment at this moment.

One could say he was formerly impressed, but was now proud of Min Hong.

Master Li had been wary and scared that even though Min Hong might retain his talent for cultivation, he might not be able to recover the mental calmness and astuteness that he had before the accident happened.

That would have meant that all their experiment were only partially successful.

But when one considers the fact that having a sound mentality is better than having talent in the cultivation world, then one might say their experiment and cure had been a total failure. After all, how many talented kids have died before they could even fulfil their potentials due to recklessness, contemptuousness and impetuousness?

But the Min Hong in front of him, seemed to not only have retained his talent and mental astuteness, but now seemed to have possessed some level of maturity. Though the mature aspect was faint and almost nonexistent, it was still there.

These alone serves to claim that their cure and experiment was a success, and should Min Hong build himself on all these facets, then by the time he returns to the clan, their cure could be claimed to have been perfect!

Until that happens, Master Li wasn't willing to stop caring for Min Hong, much less handling him back to his parent.

Moreover, the joy and pride of every physician is that their solutions or cures yielded perfect results. That would not only make them breakthrough into higher tiers of their occupation, but it would also solidify their beliefs in their own abilities and resourcefulness.

"Alright! Now that everything has been taken care of, you can take this now." Master Li finally handed over the manual to Min Hong who took it and gazed on it like it was some precious divine artifact.

"But you would still need to return to the library to pick up a meridian opening technique. I will stand on your behalf and allow you take it out of the clan."

"The clan has more than one anyways and they are all of the same tier, allowing you to unlock between a hundred and twenty to one hundred and forty meridians." Master Li added.

"You have done so much for me master, please accept my bow of gratitude." Min Hong said as he gave a bow.

"You don't need to stand on too much ceremony, just get into the top three and that would be enough for me. Now go pick a meridian opening technique and when you return, you can begin your preparations for leaving the clan."

"Yes master." Min Hong said wit joy as he left.

Master Li watched him leave with a smile on his face, He seemed to be deeply pleased with how Min Hong had turn out and though he could partially predict what his future might bring, he knew it was nothing short of phenomenal.

[Crippling someone two levels higher than you with a single move from a mysterious technique, what an achievement to brag about.]

[I wonder how many more surprises you're hiding from the sight of this master. Anyways, now that you're leaving, at least you will be safe from the venomous eyes and wicked intent of that unscrupulous Min Kun.] Master Li thought to himself before releasing a deep sigh.

[But if he thinks he can lay a single finger on a single strand of hair on your head, he must be the biggest clown on the continent.] He added as a glint flashed across his eyes.
