47 Death Six

Saye opened the door to Luca's room slightly and peeped inside. Soft snores escaped their lips as they slept comfortably on the bed.

Jae-suk shuffled and hugged Luca tighter, pulling the boy towards him. Romeo's face went red as he saw the two. He had never imagined he would see them like this, in this state.

Saye chuckled, trying to hold in a laugh, "They're cute aren't they?" she whispered to Romeo, giggling. Romeo frowned and barged into the room, "They are not. If they have to sleep they should keep it to their own sides!"

Saye tensed after seeing Romeo so worked up over this, "Why, do you want to join them too?"

Romeo paused for a second before whipping his head at her, "What are you suggesting?"

She shrugged, "You seem so jealous over the fact that Luca and Jae-suk are sleeping together. Perhaps," she tilted her head like a cat, "is it because you want to be with them too?"

Romeo deadpanned at her and pulled a bucket from the washroom and placed it beside the bed.

"Romeo, what are you doing?" she asked, looking back and forth.

Romeo huffed and lifted the bucket with all his might, "What else? Waking them up." Saye's eyes widened and stared at the two as the stark cold water slapped their faces and they shot up, screaming and flailing their hands.

Jae-suk panted, water dripping from his square face and looked up at the tiny boy holding and empty bucket in his hands, smirking. He turned around to keep the bucket back in the washroom when Jae-suk narrowed his upturned eyes and pounced on him, throwing him to the floor.

"AHH! Get off me!" Romeo screamed, crushed to the floor by Jae-suk's weight. The bucket rolled off to the washroom on its own. Turns out, it didn't Romeo's help to return to the washroom after all.

"Is that how you wake up a person," Jae-suk boomed into his ears, refusing to get up.

Romeo laughed and Jae-suk pulled his head back by the hair as he screeched in pain.

"Is that how you wake up a person?" he asked again, anger flaring every second. Luca got up groggily and wiped the water from his face and shirt. He opened his eyes and looked at his two friends on the floor.

"Oi, what are you both doing?"

Jae-suk ignored him and asked the same question to Romeo again. Romeo nodded his head, laughing, "Yup, and it worked!"

Jae-suk pressed his face onto the floor now and squeezed it harder on between his big hands and the white tiles, "Incorrect. Try again."

Romeo coughed, but still smiled, "What are you, a quiz show?"

Saye shook her head and put a hound on Jae-suk's shoulder, "At least no one died, guys you can drop it."

Luca nodded obediently, "What Saye said."

"First let him apologise," Jae-suk decided to be stubborn and kept Romeo under a deadlock. Luca got up and held Jae-suk's shoulders and tried to pull him away from Romeo, "Get up now, this isn't Auria."

Saye lifted her thumb and bit her nails in worry. She shook her head and walked out of the room to get help. Her feet fell on the tiles as she hurried to my room to get Kai. On the way, she saw Ethan and beckoned to him, "Ethan! They're fighting!"

Ethan halted and narrowed his eyes, "Who?"

Saye pointed to the room, "Jae-suk, Luca and Romeo."

When he heard all three names in one line, memories flashed back from the game. He shut his eyes close in frustration before opening them again, "Shit."

He turned to Saye and held her shoulders, "Get Kai. You and Ashe stay away, okay?"

Saye nodded and they both went into opposite directions.

I heard raps on the door and I broke out of trance with Kai. Looking at him one last time, I broke away and opened the door to see Saye.

Kai stepped forward as she spoke and started shaking his head, "Oh no." He pushed her to the side, and walked out. Before he went, he turned around to look at both of us and pointed in warning, "You both. Don't get inside alright? And," he looked left and right, "Don't bring Adrien too."

We both nodded obediently and watched him go before exchanging confused gazes at each other.

"What happened?"

Saye shrugged, "It was a small fight…I think the three have a history back in the game."

I nodded and collided my fists together, "How can we simply stand here? Don't you want to know what's going down in there?" She nodded, "My same thoughts!"

I looked around and waved my hand forward, "Let's go." We tip toed outside the house and into the garage nearby. I pointed to the ladder stacked on the edge. Saye nodded, determined and we both held both sides of the ladder and placed it below the window of the room on the second floor.

I placed my hands on my hips and looked up, "Now. Who's going to climb up first?"

Saye pushed me to the side slightly, "Me, of course."

"But—"

She ignored the rest of what I was about to say and held the sides of the ladder and stepped on it. I laughed, "Saye, you better remove those heels if you don't want to die."

She looked back at me, "Ew…then I'll be barefoot."

I just stared at her blankly, "Then move aside, I'll climb."

She raised her eyebrows and stopped me with her hand, "Wait! I'll remove my heels." She stepped down and unstrapped the string and cast both of them aside and stood on the muddy ground. She grimaced as she witnessed her untainted, flawless skin get touched by mud.

She let out a shudder before climbing up again, "Oh god, I wish I won't have to do that again." Her head popped up above the window as she witnessed the blood bath inside the room.

Her eyes widened slowly and her jaw dropped involuntarily as she saw everything happening inside happening in slow motion. The room was filled with pillow cotton, scattered like snow and falling all around them.

The boys were screaming, their jaws open in raged cries and ready to tear each other down. Ethan's slightly long hair was disheveled as he jumped for Romeo's neck. Jae-suk grabbed Kai's collar and shook him like how a poor man would check his empty wallet for money.

Saye's eyes shifted to the side and saw Lucas bouncing off the wall and shooting towards Jae-suk to jump on top of him. Kai turned around in slow motion and saw Luca fly across the room and screamed in pure fear.

Saye gulped. "What in hell is this…"

Romeo screamed and pushed Jae-suk away and he flew back to fall on the half broken bed. By the time he rebounded, Romeo poured a bucket full of stark cold water on his head.

"YAA!" Jae-suk screamed, his Korean accent slipping back in raw rage, "Neo michesseo!?" he bellowed in his mother tongue, literally meaning, "Are you crazy?" curling his fists. Romeo smirked.

"You feeling better?" In his Italian. None of them understood what the other tried to say and they both glared at each other.

"You look like dog poop," Romeo continued in Italian. Jae-suk narrowed his eyes and asked in English, "What did you say?"

The other boy threw the bucket to the side and picked up the flower vase on the table, "You know if you know." He looked at Jae-suk through his eyelashes and ran forward. Jae-suk crouched as he approached and Romeo was headed straight for the window.

Saye screamed as she saw Romeo flying right at her. His momentum was too huge to stop in time and he crashed with the window and the vase breaking upon Saye's head.

Her feet slipped against the ladder rungs and she plummeted towards the cold hard ground.

"Oh shit."

Hearing Romeo, the rest of the boys in the room froze. Silence fell upon all of them like magic as they just saw what had happened.

They rushed toward the window and fought to look down at the body on the ground.

Ethan narrowed his eyes at everyone around him, "Alright. Who started this fight? Look what you've done."

Romeo pushed Jae-suk to the side, "It was him."

Jae-suk's ears went red, "What a hypocrite. We all know it was you who poured water on us both."

Kai stepped forward and pushed Romeo against the wall. Romeo looked at him, unfazed, "What are you going to do, huh? You're powerless without that dragon power of yours you know that?"

Kai smiled lopsidedly. "You're about to find out if that matters or not."

"What do you mean?"

Kai placed his hand on Romeo's chest and pressed him against the wall with just his palm, "Why did you break the peace around here?"

"This is the real world, you guys. Not the game. We won't get tortured by The Council for breaking peace here. Come on, this is the place where people literally kill millions with one bomb for petty reasons. This is nothing."

Kai clicked his tongue, "Just because the world is like that, doesn't mean we have to be. Besides that, we all made a promise to each other. Did you forget?"

When Romeo was silent, Kai looked at the others and finally met Ethan's eyes and nodded, "Would you mind repeating it for our friend here?"

Ethan's eyes glazed over with old pride and sighed before continuing, "We, Death Six, brothers of Auria, promise not to leave each other's sides come any danger, any influence or any creature that endangers our lives. We promise not to make the other bear any more burden and comfort at the times of suffering. We promise not to destruct the peace we have built and those who do will be reprimanded severely.

"We are brothers of a new nation, brothers who will die not for ourselves but for the lives of others we love. This is the promise we make till we breathe our last breath in all worlds," Ethan recited from memory.

The others who heard this oath after so long was instantly calmed at the words they had forgotten for so long. They felt guilty for fighting with each other so mercilessly. Ethan too, felt a throbbing inside him after the last words left his mouth.

"Hear that, Romeo?" Kai said, "Till we breathe our last in all worlds."

Romeo's eyes flitted to his feet and looked up at Jae-suk who was staring at him with his blank eyes.

"I need to talk to Jae-suk alone," Romeo said, making the other boy let out a breath of surprise. The others looked at each other in confusion at first but then patted Romeo's back and made it out of the room to see how their newest mansion member was doing.

As they walked out into the hallway, Kai nudged Ethan, "You think Saye is okay?"

Ethan bit his teeth and grimaced, "It's just from the second floor, right?"
