28 11:00 PM

After a long silence between us, I found myself nodding. "Okay. But over here, I have power. We both know that very well," I warned, using the fact that I was somehow under Adrien's favour as a shield to protect me. I needed to ask Adrien about that. Why did he suddenly want my friendship?

Saye reluctantly, "We're both on the same page now, anyway. Finish him off."

I smiled sadly, "Oh yeah. You're right. Maybe that's why Darren sent you here. To help in manipulation," I chuckled mischievously. If Saye never chose to hurt me, we would have been best friends by now. How weird.

Saye looked embarrassed by my comment, "You really think that's the only reason why Darren sent me?"

I shrugged, "What other reason could there be?"

I didn't know it then but at that time Saye was thinking different things. 'What if he sent me to look after you? From a girl to her boyfriend's sister. Oh yeah, but I can't tell you that. You don't know we're seeing each other.'

"So what's the plan?" I asked her, oblivious to her thoughts. She wiped the tears from her eyes and splashed her face with some of the chilly pool water.

"You want them to kill each other, right?"

I nodded. "They work out in the upper floor gym every morning. Sometimes they brawl too, I think. I hear weird noises from up there. But I don't know how to turn a daily workout session into a blood bath."

Saye shook her head and waved me off, "No, trying to get them to kill Adrien physically is not going to help at all!"

I cocked my head in confusion.

"To bring a person to kill the other, is to provoke the killer's softest point. Not the physical soft point. The emotional one. Their true weakness. What we should do is conquer that weakness…and crush it."

I gasped and looked at this determined girl explaining it as if she had done this many times before. "Y-you…do it often. That's why you know.

Saye looked down at her feet, "It seems to be the only thing I'm good at doing."

I wanted to slap her on her face. She was deprecating herself again. To change the mood I just shrugged, "At least now it can be put to good use."

"So how do we find their weak points and crush it?" I asked a few moments how thinking later.

Saye laughed, "Half our job is actually done. We already know their weak point. It's common to all of them."

"Oh? What is it?"

Saye's smile dropped a bit now and she looked at me pitifully. Sighing she admitted, "Friends. They care for each other a lot. Trust is their weakness."

I stood still. She was right. Trust is the weak point. How to crush it? I furrowed my eyebrows in thought. A normal computer is exactly that, normal, until a foreign software comes in which is actually a harmful virus and conquers the entire system. I knew that. But what was the virus to conquer trust?

Ah. The answer dawned upon me as I saw Saye's worried smile.

"Betrayal."

She nodded and leaned into my ears and whispered out her plan. I stared off at the distance as she broke down the plan for me but soon, my eyes started widening with each word.

At the end, all I could do was pull back, "No! I am not doing that!"

"We have no other rational choice. And you know you have the best chances at pulling it off."

"B-but…" I hesitated. Saye held me by the shoulders. "I won't ask you to trust me, that's too much. But I can ask you to think practically. Don't you think this is the only way?"

I was frozen and goose bumps ran through my arms. I didn't say anything, but seeing my face, Saye understood that I had agreed to her stupid plan.

This was going to be hard. My knees crumbled underneath me in shock and I sat by the pool. If it wasn't night time, you would have seen my cheeks blush deep red.

...…

Lucas smiled lopsidedly as he saw a really pretty female employee pass in front of him. He couldn't take his eyes off her as he leant against the wall next to the elevator.

Her hair was a blonde and curly and her face was bright as the summer sun. But it wasn't this which attracted him. His eyes lowered to look at her other features and his jaw dropped slightly, his eyes glinting in amusement.

Her front shirt buttons looked like they were about to pop which made Lucas jerk forward and stand in front of her. She halted in surprise and widened her big baby blue eyes at the boy.

"You have pretty eyes," Lucas flashed a charming smile. He looked behind her and then back at her again, "Why are you headed to HR? A boring job for a really beautiful lady, don't you think?"

She blushed at his smile and shook her head, "I'm new here. As replacement for the old HR staff."

He raised his eyebrows in glee. "You're new too!" He extended his hand and bowed a little, "Lucas Trenner. Looking forward to work with you."

This time she raised her eyebrows too, "Evertech?"

Lucas chuckled, "A lady updated on what happens around her. Nice, I like it."

"Which department are you in?" The woman asked in curiosity. But Lucas could only hear his thumping heart. His eyes constantly forced him to look at her huge chest but then he used up all his energy to try and not do exactly that.

He wanted her on his bed right then. To feel her supple skin on his. But he knew that wasn't going to work if he came off as a pervert. But it was so hard to resist!

"Uh…" he rasped, forcing himself to drown in those baby blue eyes instead, "B-beta t-testing…" He was panting internally now as he desperately tried to avert his eyes towards the Testing office.

She smiled wider, "That's really cool! Since we're both new, why not check out the place together some time? I've always wanted to know how VR beta testing takes place."

Lucas's heart threatened to fly out of his ribcage now. 'Did she just…ask me out?' He bit the inside of his cheeks and looked up at the ceiling, 'Oh my God, the possibilities…are endless.'

He looked back down at her and shrugged, "Yeah, sure. Why not? See you at 7 PM?"

She held her files close to her chest now, and Lucas saw it press further, "Since I'm a replacement, I have a lot of things to get done today before deadlines. So I'll be out only at 11 PM…if you're leaving earlier than that, we can always do it another day."

'E-eleven…PM…' Lucas stuttered in his mind. All the employees would be gone by then. They'd have the entire floor all to themselves. They'd be alone…in the darkness.

Lucas didn't think much. He smiled innocently.

"Eleven PM it is.
