3 Chapter 2

I finished the last bit of paperwork around 11:40 something. I had 20 minutes to get to the council room. And it was preferred I was early, since I was to lead it.

I arrived at exactly 11:53. I took my seat and waited for the room to fill up. The first thing I brought to attention was the public affairs bill I had signed earlier. I asked for suggestions on how to protect the people that were affected.

Second thing to be discussed is if we ally with a side or ignore the war going on until further notice. A few other public affairs and overseas problems were also discussed. In the end I was tired and frustrated.

I made my way through the hall and back to my study to put up the reports and the manuscripts from the meeting. Then I took my hair down, put it over my shoulders, and brushed it over my ears to cover the scales. I wore leather gloves so my hands were fine. Now to speak with the king, where ever he was.

My first guess was the throne room but if I ran into a servant or knight on my way, I would ask. And I did.

"Aza, was it?" I asked the maid.

"Oh, yes! What do you need, Lady Bure?" She responded in kind.

"Do you happen to know where his highness is?" I smiled.

"Yes, I do. He's in his library."

"Thank you! Have a nice day!" I breathed as I breezed through the hall.

I arrived at two guarded doors. One dame and one knight, both more than happy to open them for me.

King Shelby sat in a satin, emerald green chair. In front of him was a redwood table and a matching chair on the other side. When I entered he smiled and waved me over, indicating I sit in it. As he was the king, I obeyed.

On the table was a transcript, and he slid it over to me. I looked through it as he started talking.

"Adrie, this is the prophecy that Gale presented to me this morning. Don't just scan through it, read it thoroughly," He said, watching me quickly flip through the pages. I slowed down and did as he said.

The prophecy was apparently originally for me but Gale wasn't able to locate me.

"So, I'll be employed as a dame I presume?" I murmured.

The king shook his head, "No, I was thinking you'd be more of an admiral. Maybe like the Black Rose?"

"I'm not as cocky or cold as the captain of the Black Rose."

"No, of course not. Maybe your own group? Start out with just you and continue when you find the other 'Brave young warriors'?"

"Don't mock the prophet, Shelby. It's bad for your health."

"Oh hohoho!" He laughed, "No, I don't mean to mock Gale. With my proposition, you will still have your current job as my advisory and second in command, of course. But you'll only have half the work load. What do you say?"

"I'd like to talk with my father about this before make any life changing decisions, is that alright?"

"Of course! I'll be in town for the rest of this week, don't rush!" He said with a smile.

I stood and headed for the door, "I forgot, but I actually have a meeting with Zaque today! I have a new mission for them!" I cheered as I waved goodbye
