The whole crowd of hooligans stopped as they started to look towards the guy that Eric had specified. They all were curious to know who was the idiot who didn't follow orders.

In fact, most probably he was the type of guy who would think that he had been smarter than anyone else while retrieving the gun.

He must have thought that Eric was just testing them with his words prior and that he wasn't really going to stop them from looting some things.
