13 An Old Enemy

Broken trees laid everywhere, debris littered the ground and cracks on the ground could be seen everywhere. If it wasn't for the two people standing on each sides, passerbys would have thought a clan war happened here.

A red glow could be seen on one side as a man stood with a sword in each hand. Blue streaks of wind flowed around the other man with an azure katana slinging on his back with both hands underneath his cloak. A face mask covering his nose and mouth.

"Holy shit! Ace?!", Jack stepped back in shock before laughing out loud. "KEEKEEKEE if it isn't the Lazy Assassin himself in the flesh."

"Glad you still remember me Jack, now we can finish our fight from last time", Ace replied as his eyes gleam in the darkness. "Yeah", Jack looked at him pausing for awhile "you'll pay for what you have done to me".

"You made me become listed in the Betrayers List. I did not expect my kill to be under a request. She was such a fine woman that seemed likeable to others", Jack suddenly declared. "We could have come to an understanding but you just had to inform the Assassins Union about it".

"Hey, it's not my fault if your limp gets banned", Ace replied pointing towards Jack's pants. "Rules are rules, you don't see me raping and killing randomly do you? Maybe if you had used your head up there instead of that limp, you wouldn't be banned", Ace continued mocking.

"Twin Star Universe" Jack muttered before leaping towards Ace with his dual blades drawn.

*Kching! Kching! Kching!*

Sounds of swords clashing against each other. Ace skillfully blocked the attacks while dodging to the sides waiting for the opportunity to attack.

"Nothing's going to happen if you just block and dodge Ace! I can do this until dawn", Jack mocked as he continuously slashed, stabbed at every chance he saw.

"Alright, you asked for it" Ace nonchalantly warned. "Reverse Wind", bloodlust burst out from inside him making the area around him become pressured. His katana mimicked Jack's movement as it parried and slice through the defence.

*Spfffff!*

Blood splashed out of his chest as line formed from his right shoulder to his left hip. Ace stood behind him sheathing his blade.

"Im..impossible!" Jack staggers forward as he supports himself with his blades. Fear filled his heart as the bloodlust emanating from Ace fell on him. The pressure almost made him unconscious as cold sweat covered his back. He turned around only to find Ace pointing a crossbow straight to his face.

'How did he become stronger than me!?' Jack exclaimed in his heart. 'We were equally matched the last time we fought. If it weren't for those knights disturbing our duel, I would have been victorious'.

"Any last words?" Ace disrupted as he placed his finger on the trigger. "FUCK YOU!" Jack exclaimed as he launch himself towards Ace.

*Thwack!* an arrow pierced into his head.

"Sigh what's with people and their last moves? Shouldn't they go for an instant kill if possible from the start?" Ace patted the grave he had dug.

"Nice try Jack, but you should have accepted your fate". Getting up, he suddenly realised the girl was still there. She lay there staring, closing her eyes when Ace had turned towards her.

*Schreeeng!* as he slowly draw his katana while walking towards her. She kept her eyes closed as she was too afraid to see, her knees pulled towards her chest awaiting her eminent death.

*Zcha! Zcha!* a sound came as she realised she could finally move her limbs.

Slowly opening her eyes to see his back facing her. "You're free now" he mumbled as he sheaths his katana. Fumbling for something from his small bag hanging at the back of his waist.

He takes out a set of clothes. "Here, I wouldn't want to walk around the forest naked".

"I suggest you get back to the Inn and forget about this matter" he suggested as he leaped away into the trees.
