102 Chapter 102

I pant as I see the sky clear up and the clouds start to clear up. That shout takes a lot out of me. If I shout more, I think I will die. Affecting the weather takes a lot out of me. Who would have thought?

"That is a relief. Thank you for your help, Ryan. I don't know what would happen if that thing hit us."

I release a tired sigh and say.

"Don't mention it. However, I can't join in the first ten minutes. Sorry."

"Heh. Don't worry about it. You have done enough. Leave the rest to us. Sound the war horn!"

After Nurarihyon shouted, I heard the loud sound of a war horn from the back of the ship. I blink a little when I feel something dark that makes my back shiver coming from all the youkai. Nurarihyon grins at me and says,

"This is our power! This is what we call fear. Unlike the youkai under Yasaka who use chakra, we use fear."

"What is fear?"

"It was a term for a negative energy human release. Youkai under me did not have massive chakra reserves, and because of that, we used fear to attack our opponent. Fear might not be as versatile as Chakra and Senjutsu, but…"

He grins and claps his hands. A second later, I can see a massive crack on what looks like a transparent dome. I blinked a little because I did not feel that dome even using Senjutsu.

"But it has an edge that those two did not have. It can sense any protection against Senjutsu and Chakra like that dome."

His grin gets bigger, and he shouts.

"Hyakki Yakou! Let's begin the parade!"

Before the ship could even land, the youkai started to jump down and leave me behind with Toto. I can only sigh and look at Toto before saying.

"Are they always like this?"

One of Toto's hands creates a yes sign. Sadly, Toto cannot speak and only speaks through sign language.

"I see. Will you join them?"

Toto points at me.

"Ah, you are waiting for me to recover, huh?"

Toto makes a yes sign.

"I see. Thank you, Toto. You are a good man."

I chuckle a little when I see his sail turn a little bit red. Toto is a bit shy.

While waiting for me to recover, I look down on the battlefield. They might have numbers, but the Hyakki Yakou has the quality.

I blink a little when I feel a heavy pressure coming from the ground. I look down and see Nurarihyon fighting a group of humans and Youkai with a grin on his face. He is releasing his fear into the air, creating a shockwave that makes his opponents freeze. He then moves quickly to cut them down using his tanto, a short version of a katana.

His fighting style is not the fighting style of a swordsman. He fights like an assassin. Get near fast and stab the fatal points. I wonder if he wants to spar with me sometimes.

The situation on the island gets even more heated. The Hyakki Yakou go through the Tamamo Cult with relative ease. However, as they enter the underground area, the fight starts to get tougher and tougher.

After another ten minutes of fighting, Nurarihyon and his Hyakki Yakou stop advancing. In front of them are a group of people. There are seven of them, and Nurarihyon knows they are as powerful as he was in his prime.

"Nurarihyon… You have done well coming all the way here. Sadly for you, it is time for you to die."

Hanabi, one of the captains of the Tamamo Cult, looks at Nurarihyon with all the hatred she can muster. She blames him for her plan not working and also blames him for killing all of her slaves whom she tirelessly charms to be her slaves.

"This will be your grave, old man. Attack!"

At her command, the Youkai next to her starts to attack Nurarihyon and his ally. Nurarihyon clicks his tongue and shouts.

"Retreat!"

After Nurarihyon gives that command, take out the sake gourd, drink some of the sake, and spurt them out of his mouth. A second later, blue flames engulf the room and block the vision of Hanabi and her group.

The flame is strong enough to stop the incoming group of Youkai as it burns their skin very quickly, and it is very painful because of the exotic effect of Fear energy.

Hanabi roars in anger and looks at Haru.

"Take out all the clones."

Haru frowns at that word and says,

"Are you sure? Our group will not give you more. Your group only has seven, and there are three in my possession."

"Summon them. This is our only chance to kill that old youkai. Besides that weather control attack, I also prepared a barrier to trap them. This one cannot be broken because it fuels chakra, senjutsu, fear energy, and mana. Their attempt to destroy the barrier will result in making it stronger. We will be teleported away to the main island so you can let your lord's clone rampage on this island."

Haru looks at her for a few seconds before saying.

"If this fails, it is on you. I don't want Lady Hagoromo Gitsune to be mad at me."

"Don't worry about it! Just follow my order!"

Haru shakes his head and prepares. He takes out three clear tubes and starts to chant. Slowly but surely, the energy inside the three tubes starts to increase violently, and after another few seconds of chanting, Haru nods and says.

"We need to get out of here. It might be only an Ultimate Class, but it is still a clone of my lord."

"Good! Let's leave this place and activate the trap."

I swing my sword and kill the zombie-like human in front of me. After killing him, I swing my sword to clean it.

After recovering from using a powerful shout, Toto and I decide to clean the surface of the island. All of the humans here are not in their right mind. Their soul is too damaged to be considered a living being.

Their body is strong, but their attack is wild. It is like fighting wild animals instead of sentient beings.

"Toto! How is your end?!"

I shout to the left, and just in time to see Toto punch someone to the ground. I chuckle a little when I see him give me a thumbs-up. He is great. I like him.

"Toto! Can you handle the rest?! I will help the others!"

He gives me another thumbs-up and smashes another group of zombies. I nod and run toward the giant hole that Nurarihyon leaves behind before he and his group get underground.

However, before I can get inside, the Hyakki Yakou runs away from the underground, with Nurarihyon last to get out. I walk toward him and say.

"Why? Why are you guys here?"

He looks at me and says.

"We cannot fight underground with this many people. We need to lure them out."

"What if they did not want to get out?"

"We blow this underground and force them to get out. All the civilians on this island are already infected with an unknown charm and some kind of spell that damages their souls but enchants their bodies. We can go all out."

"Right."

"Get out of the way. We will blow the underground facilities."

After he says that, three people walk forward. The first one is a bald monk with the body of a bodybuilder. This man is Gyuki, the Bull of Destruction. The second one is a Karasu Tengu. This man is Zen, the Youjutsu Master. The third one is an Oni. This woman is Husui, the Maiden of Destruction.

The three of them are the executive of the Hyakki Yakou.

"Alright, you three! Full power!"

They prepare to chant, but before they can start their chant, the entire ground starts to rumble, and a few seconds later, three giant snakes appear from the ground. They look like Yamata no Orochi, but their bodies are all wrong.

Their bodies are melted and release what looks like venom that melts anything it touches. However, the surprise is not over. I can see a dark purple dome made of foul energy appear in the sky and cover the entire island.

I look at Nurarihyon and say,

"I start to regret coming with you guys."
