2 Chapter 1- Father, do you remember?

It was long ago, I don't remember much, for those I do, I want to forget. Temperature rises to unimaginable lengths, the night winters where in the 30s and the day would be 50s, on the summers, the nights were in the 50s and the days were pushing into the 80s depending on where you were. This resulted more common living in the south and north pales, the most logical place to be. It was like the atmosphere itself was being piled out like an onion with its only defense being the soft brown skin on the outside. The humidity was high, in the only method of cooling going down to the underground.

In the case of low resources such as food and water, the fourth war broke out in the deserts of the destroyed building of the remains of what we use to call cities. The battles were something not known well to commoners like me, but it was something that surrounds me daily. At night, I could hear the bombs going off in the distance even 100 meters below ground level in my small tighten rabbit hole which I call home. The food was limited to the extremes like non-other, as everyone was told that food was shared equally, the truth differs. For me, this hole was my world, limited, dark that separated me from the blooded reality that I've never see. The hole was low, unlike what I heard of the unlimited skies that many dreams to explore. The place was like my dream and what I thought of my life, short and unwanted but a thing I can't leave behind.

I lived my younger life in a hole, unknowing of the outside world. All I have that reminds me of life is the few small pots of the plant on the ground next to the skeletons of my mothers and father. The war ended in 2400 just like ww1; humans are both smart and stupid creatures. It wasn't because the countries finished in a neutral agreement, it was that they were all dead, an earth with the remaining population of barely a million survivors, with five nations that were known in 2018 loss in time, making me want to believe it was all planned to save resources.

-What use was there in a war?

-Why couldn't they just have helped each other?

Those were the questions that I always had, but not once I could understand them with an accurate answer. The humans live like ants, residing underneath earth's surface like the insects that we always looked down to. We dug below and below, digging 500 km down for resources until we found the 'cold room.' It's an area in the earth that is cold, defining all logic that looks close to a pitfall that is loosely covered with clouds and light. The place is covered with monsters from winged faired snakes that matches the size of several buses to small creatures that eat themselves to restore protein while having the ability to receive more energy than eaten. It's believed endless materials could be found there. The pit is brokered into many parts. The pit is cursed, but it's a curse that only affects those from coming up, the first being vomiting and nausea on the floatable islands of jungles to the second layer of the magnetic fields that no one came up from. The only confirmations of their safety were from a single letter in a floating up balloon.

Inside the magnetic layers, what we called the "yellow line," an unknown type of light or material, forms on these islands. It was at this point, researchers around the world were held to make the sky islands. The islands are seperated into five layers; the middle which the public space, the central, workforces and controls, the heaven's garden, the production of food, the second sky, the living lands for those whose rich, and the norm for those that are normal. The yellow line was what it was used to make the foundations of the island. The substance can be both visible and invisible, both solid while being liquid and gas, controlled by few kilometers of machines and building that is instructed by a small cube made from yellow lines, linked by the unseeable magnetic field that keeps the yellow lines at bay.
