Chapter 1
I wake up with a brightest smile on my face. This is it! Today’s my oath taking. I will be an official lawyer in a few hours. I did my morning routine and wore the best formal attire that I have in my closet. Black slacks pants, white button blouse, a black suit and a pair of black shoes. I put my everyday make up on. Red lipstick, blush, powder, eyebrow and a little bit of eyeshadow to make my face look fresh. I’m ready to go! And of course, don’t forget the black toga.
A loud beep of a car parked outside my aunt’s house.
My aunt Fely knocked on my room and I opened the door.
Kaye is here. You should go!
I smiled to my aunt Fely
Yes, aunt. I’m going, bye!
I kissed mt aunt Fely on her cheeks
Wait a minute! I shouted.
I locked the gate of my aunt’s house and hop in the passenger sit.
Oh my G! You are so slow. We are going to be late dear. My bestfried/classmate since law school, Kaye Gutierrez.
Yes, she is also a lawyer. Her family has a background on this field. Her mom and dad are lawyers. So, let’s not question why’d she become a lawyer too because it’s in their blood.
Kaye, relax ok! Just drive and focus, we have so much time left to arrive in the Supreme Court. I barked. It’s 3 am in the morning.
Ok, whatever you say Dear! Hello! We are in the province. The drive will take for at least 4 hours plus the traffic in EDSA. Kaye
I nodded to her and she started the engine of her car
I turn on the radio in Kaye’s car, so that I can’t sleep while we are on the drive
I don’t want to sleep while Kaye is driving
We had two times stop, of course we need to pee and eat breakfast in Jollibee
After 4 hours of driving, finally we’re here.
We arrive in the venue on time. The oath taking will start at 8am and we are already here its only 7:30am. Thank goodness!
Kaye parked the car and we both hop out.
I’m so excited dear. This is the beginning of our life Issa.!!!! Kaye exclaimed. I can see to her face that she is so happy.
Yes! I can finally live on my own when I have my own money. I can leave to my aunt’s house and of course pay back their kindness to me. I replied.
Kaye hug me. And I felt comfort whenever he does this. She is so kind to me even though I am not that rich like her. I hugged her back.
After the hugging moment, we both head to the woman’s rest room so we can touch up.
Arriving at the hall, I am so amazed. The venue is so big and cold. Yes cold! How many aircons are in this hall, I thought. I can’t stop myself to turn my eyes in every corner of the hall. There is a huge chandelier at the center and big curtains.
The logo of the Supreme Court is at the center of the stage, its so big.
Back to reality, we sat down to our respective seats. Kaye and I are seatmates and along with our classmates. The hall began settling down and the host hold the mic and start talking.
Good Morning, Lawyers! The host said.
The audience got wild and replied with a loud Good morning. I got chill about this feeling. We are finally becoming a lawyer officially in a few hours and I can’t stop myself from smiling.
After the talk of the host, we stand to pray and sing the national anthem. The host gave a short introduction for the guest speakers.
After how many hours of the program……
We are standing and raising our right hand
I, (state our name) do solemnly swear that I will maintain allegiance……we said in unison
……and I impose upon myself these voluntary obligations without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion. So help me God. We said in unison. I can’t stop smiling. Kaye and I hugged each other. We both signed the rolls of attorney and I am passer number 8192 and Kaye is 8193. We took a photo and viola we are an officially lawyers!!!!

After that, Kaye and I decided to eat lunch in SM Mall of Asia
I still can’t believe Issa, mygosh!!! We really achieved that A T T Y
I smiled to Kaye and we both smiled to each other
After we ate our lunch we decided to go home. Kaye and I both tired so we call it a day
We decided to celebrate tomorrow with Kaye’s family
I arrive at my aunt’s house safe, thanks to Kaye
I drifted to sleep. So, tired
Kaye’s family car arrived at my aunt’s house and I hop in. We will celebrate. My aunt has work so she can’t make it. But its ok for me, I have Kaye and her family. We are eating in a fine restaurant which is the Matutina-Gerry’s Seafood House. Kaye’s mother ordered a lot of food that I can’t contain myself from eating so much today.
While we are eating, there’s a group of men wearing a black suit entered the restaurant. People in the restaurant turn their eyes to the door to see who’s coming. I decided to not give a damn who’s gonna dine here. I just eat my food silently.
Hmmmm. I love this fried squid so yummy, I thought to myself while chewing my food
The door opened and all the people dropped their mouth open. The gorgeous man entered the restaurant with a girl to his right side. They both look sophisticated and yeah, they are both rich with 10 bodyguards.
Kaye tapped me and…
Issa looked at that man he is so gorgeous. Yieeeeeh!!!! Kaye exclaimed excitedly with her eyes twinkling.
I looked at the man and yes, he is gorgeous but dang, not my type. So, I turn and eat my food.
Kaye gave me look and then..
You know what you are so boring. I felt that eyes of you that you are not interested to that gorgeous man. Come on, Issa. You will be single in your whole life swear! Kaye said angrily
I laugh and turn my eyes to the table of that gorgeous man. And to my surprise he is staring at me. So, I turn my eyes back to our table. My heart skips a beat. I don’t know why. Those eyes, why he is staring at me??
