7 •07~ The Return

Just as Link's sword was about to slit my throat, I snapped back to reality. I was in an awkward position, hanging over a big root of the deku tree. I stared at the current Link with wide eyes. And he just stared back.

"H-Hello?" said a tiny voice. Link's eyes widened and he ran away before I could say anything. I think I might've changed the past slightly.

"H-Hello? Who's disturbing the deku tree?" the voice said again. A little Kokiri came into view. I smile brightly when I saw her. It was Saria! I had heard about her legend as the Kokiri who watched over the 9th generation Link! I heard she had unrequited feelings for him. I couldn't help but feel a bit bad for her.

"Y-You're Saria! I never thought I would meet a legend!" I blurted out.

"Oh my! Princess Zelda XV!" She bowed down and murmured a "your majesty". I rolled my eyes.

"No, no, no, no. Please stand up. I don't deserve such respect. Especially considering you are technically my elder! I should be bowing to you!" I said, pulling her arm up gently.

"Your majesty, if I may ask, what are you doing here?" I shook my head at her calling me "your majesty".

"S-Sorry, I mean Princess Zelda," she said. I mean, it was better than "your majesty". I nodded in approval.

"Well, it's a long story. This might take a while," I said. Her eyes widened.

"Oh! You don't need to tell me Princess! It's alright!" she said quickly. I looked at her again.

"I-I-I mean, would you like to come to my cottage and tell me Princess?"

I smiled. And I laughed a bit internally. I really didn't deserve all this respect. Sometimes I hated being a Princess. There was all this respect stuff and, I have to expect things of my subjects or I'm considered too lax.

"So, if you will, please tell why you were with the deku tree princess?"

"Well, you see, when I was in the castle, I had a premonition. I was being chased twice: once when a man in green was chasing me to the deku tree, intending to kill me, and twice when a beast with red flowing hair was chasing me in nothingness. And when the gerudos attacked the castle, I ran into battle against father's orders. My armor had broken and so I went into the armory to grab armor, and I had been cornered by the man in green, apparently his name is Link," she gasped, "and he was mother's knight and I pulled the Master Sword from the stone, so apparently I'm the fated hero of the century, and I killed the man. He rose from the dead, and chased me to the deku tree, where my spirit left my body, went back in time, and showed me my mother, Zelda XIV, being murdered, and apparently I changed my fate and surprisingly enough DIDN'T die."

I took a big breath.

"So, I have a question then princess. How did your family have the Master Sword if Link, your mother's knight, was the fated hero of the century?" she asked.

I thought about it. How was there two fated heros?
