chapter 3

The night was shrouded in darkness as Edward roamed the desolate streets, his sole intention to find a vulnerable, inebriated person from whom he could steal whatever he could. His small form slinked through the shadows, a silent specter in the moonlit realm of desperation.

Edward wandered through the desolate streets of the city, shrouded in darkness, as he continued his desperate quest to find some means of survival. The night was unrelenting, and he knew he needed to secure something to bring back to his ailing brother, Albert.

As he crept through the dimly lit alleys, his eyes keenly sought out potential targets. In a world where desperation and hunger were widespread, he hoped to find a drunk and unsuspecting person, someone from whom he could pilfer a few meager coins.

Finally, as he ventured deeper into the city's underbelly, he spotted a man who appeared to be inebriated. This seemed like the opportunity he had been waiting for.

He spotted a disheveled man, swaying on unsteady legs, his words slurred and incoherent. Edward recognized the signs of inebriation – this was his chance. The man was so drunk he wouldn't even notice his pockets being picked.

With a cautious approach, he reached into the man's pocket and deftly extracted a small pouch of coins.

However, the world of thieves and beggars was a perilous one, and as Edward tried to slip away, the man's drunken senses abruptly kicked in. He turned with a start, his bloodshot eyes locking onto the young thief who dared to rob him. With groggy voice he said

"What do you think you're doing, you little rat?!" the man bellowed, his voice thick with alcohol-fueled anger. He lunged at Edward, a fist connecting with the boy's small frame, sending him crashing to the cold cobblestone street.

Edward cried out in pain as the man began to rain blows upon him

" You fucking theif who do you think you are stealing him huh " with that the man kicked the Edward who was on the floor

" do you know who I am huh I work for the house of lestrange one of Sacred Twenty-Eight and you dare to steal from me..how dare you "

each one landing with a sickening thud. The drunken man seemed to relish the brutality of his attack, not realizing the fragility of the child he was harming.

Edward struggled in vain against the man's grip, trying to escape his wrath. But the world seemed to be closing in on him. He couldn't catch a break

Just as Edward was on the verge of succumbing to the relentless assault, Just as the crowd began to gather a sudden interruption came from the shadows. A black-haired young man with piercing grey eyes materialized, a fierce determination etched on his face. He had been silently watching the altercation unfold, and now he stepped forward.

"Stop this at once!" he commanded, his voice carrying the authority of someone who was not to be trifled with.

The drunken man, caught off guard by the unexpected appearance of the newcomer, ceased his assault but still seethed with rage. "Who the hell are you, interfering in my business?"

The young man's demeanor remained resolute as he stared down the inebriated aggressor. "My name is Sirius Black, a newly recruited Auror. I suggest you calm yourself and leave this child alone immediately."

The mention of "Auror" sent a fear through the drunk man. He knew the reputation of these magical law enforcement officers.

"Sorry, sir, I didn't mean nothing. I was just tryin' to teach this little thief a lesson." The drunk man, now teetering on the edge of panic, pointed at Edward. "This brat was trying to rob me!"

Edward, breathing heavily and disheveled, struggled to explain, "I was just..."Before he could finish, the drunk man lunged at him, fists raised, and began to pummel him relentlessly.

The crowd watched with a mix of curiosity and apathy. But the young man, Sirius Black, wasn't about to let that happen. With a wave of his wand, he sent the drunk man flying through the air and crashing into a nearby wall.

The man let out a cry of pain as he landed in a crumpled heap.Sirius stood over him, his voice laced with authority. "You'll be lucky if I don't arrest you for assaulting a child.this child is not a thief; he's a victim of circumstances. If I ever catch you attacking a child again, I will ensure that you face the full extent of the law."

The drunk man scrambled to his feet, still dazed and afraid, and hastily made his escape, stumbling into the night.

Once the threat had retreated, Sirius Black turned his attention to Edward, who lay battered and bleeding on the cobblestones. The young Auror approached the child with a mixture of sympathy and concern.

Sirius knelt beside Edward, his concern genuine. "Are you all right, kid?"

Edward, tears welling in his eyes from the pain and fear, could only nod weakly. His trust had been shattered so many times that he couldn't find the words to express his gratitude. The kindness of a stranger was a rarity in his world.

Edward, in a mixture of pain and disbelief, managed a weak nod. "I... I'm fine, thank you, sir."

Sirius took a closer look at the child's injuries. The harsh reality of the streets was etched onto Edward's small frame. The young Auror knew he couldn't leave the boy in this condition.

"You need medical attention," Sirius insisted. "Let me help you."

Sirius noticed the severity of Edward's injuries and realized that he needed immediate medical attention. Without further ado, he scooped the young boy into his arms and set off in the direction of St. Mungo's Hospital.

The child, still clutching the pouch of coins he had managed to steal, was in a fragile state, and Sirius was determined to ensure he received the necessary care.

From Sirius's perspective, he was one of the youngest Aurors patrolling the streets of magical Britain, but it was his commitment to justice that drove him. He had seen too many dark deeds in the city, and this night was no different. As he roamed the quiet streets, he spotted a drunken man shouting and beating a defenseless child.

It was an abhorrent sight, one that he couldn't ignore. Without hesitation, he intervened, using his authority to protect the boy from harm.He knew that magic could be a powerful tool for protection, but in this instance, he decided that a show of force was necessary to stop the abuse.

The drunk man, fearing the consequences, had fled into the night. Now, with Edward in his arms, Sirius was determined to ensure that the child received the care he so desperately needed. St. Mungo's Hospital loomed ahead, a beacon of hope in a city that too often seemed mired in darkness.

As they arrived at the hospital, nurses and healers rushed to attend to the injured child, who was now unconscious. Sirius provided a brief explanation of what had transpired and left the boy in their capable hands.

He had seen countless instances of cruelty and desperation, but there was something about this encounter that struck a chord with him.

As he watched the medical professionals work diligently to heal Edward's wounds, he couldn't shake the feeling that this child's life had taken a tragic turn long before their paths had crossed. In a world where suffering and hardship were all too common, it was a stark reminder of the darkness that existed in the hearts of some, and the importance of individuals like himself who aimed to bring a glimmer of hope and justice to the downtrodden.

It's remained why he had join the order of the phinoex to stop this bloody war and to end this dark times which was looming on the magical Britain

Sirius Black knew that this night would be etched into his memory, a reminder of the fragile lives that existed on the fringes of society, and a testament to his commitment to make a difference, one small act of kindness at a time.

As Edward lay unconscious on the hospital bed, the medical professionals continued to work diligently, tending to his injuries. Sirius Black, standing at the bedside, couldn't help but reflect on the cruel realities that had led them to this point.

Nurse: "He's been through a lot, poor child. We'll do our best to heal his wounds."

Sirius: "Thank you for taking care of him. He's had a rough night."

Nurse: "It's not the first time we've seen cases like this. Sadly, many children suffer in silence."

Sirius: "It's heartbreaking. We need to do more to protect the vulnerable in our society."

As the medical staff worked, Sirius's thoughts drifted to the broader issues at play in the wizarding world.

Sirius: "This city has seen too much suffering. I joined the minister to stop this fucking war and to end this darkness that's looming over magical Britain."

Nurse: "We appreciate the work you do, Mr. Black. It's a tough world out there, and every bit of help counts."

Sirius nodded, grateful for the nurse's understanding. The young Auror knew that change was a slow process, but moments like these reinforced his commitment to making a difference.
