24 Chapter 23: The Eyes of Death

*Clang*

The sound of clashing metal echoed in the place. For an instant the small sparks caused by the contact of the weapons illuminated Yasu and Toru's face.

"Hm? You surprise me, brat" With a neutral expression on his face, Yasu spoke while looking into Toru's eyes.

After listening to the man in front of him, Toru kept silent. For a second, the glow of the daggers made Yasu close his eye.

(Toru...)

She was still shocked by what her eyes were seeing. Ino just looked up from the ground, not strong enough to stand up and run away.

"Couldn't you wait for your turn?"

Yasu's eye looked at Toru, for an instant that eye shone brightly.

"Won't you answer?" Yasu said as he saw that Toru had stared at the ground without saying a word.

"Then I'll have to kill you first" Yasu narrowed his eye and sighed.

"No..." Toru spoke as he looked up.

At that moment Yasu could see something that caught his attention, the look in Toru's eyes was different from what he always saw, that look was so strange, so dangerous.

This brought a smile to Yasu's mouth.

"Seriously, you're too interesting, brat" Yasu said as he jumped backwards, immediately his feet touched the ground, causing a small cloud of smoke that vanished a second later.

"You tried to kill me..." Toru said. At that moment, a lock of hair was covering one of his eyes.

Yasu looked at the gray-eyed boy for a few seconds before speaking again, but this time, the expression on his face was serious.

"Yes, I tried to kill you" Yasu spoke while swinging the spear, this caused a small wind current that lifted the leaves that were on the ground.

"Then... there won't be a problem if I try to kill you, right?" Toru said with that poker expression on his face.

(Kill him? Toru, you...) Ino continued to watch everything, her eyes found herself looking at Toru.

She was confused, Toru's calm attitude had completely changed, now Ino could feel Toru's murderous intentions just by hearing his voice.

"Kill me? Hahaha, I don't think that's going to happen, brat. Obviously I'll kill you before you can touch me with those little knives" Laughing at Toru's words, Yasu spoke with a mocking tone of voice, but....

*Clang*

The sound of metal echoed, Yasu had stopped Toru's attack.

"Huh?" His eye looked into Toru's eyes and his hands held the spear tightly. Toru had appeared in front of Yasu in the blink of an eye, that attack was so strong that Yasu was lucky to manage to block it.

"What the fuck?"

*Clang, clink, clank*.

Toru attacked again, in less than a second he managed to hit three times.

At that moment Yasu was surprised, the speed at which Toru could attack was ridiculous.

(What the hell is this kid?) Yasu thought as he blocked Toru's attacks.

"Do you think that will do!"

Yasu went on the attack while aiming the spear at the gray-eyed boy's heart, but Toru blocked all the attacks using the daggers.

Again the sound of the weapons clashing echoed, while the sparks caused by the impacts of the metal illuminated everything in small time intervals

(I'm getting angry) Yasu thought as he tried to kill the boy using the spear, but Toru was too agile and fast.

"Dansu gyakusatsu: Sanshin [Dancing Massacre: Three Strikes]" Toru said, instantly, using the tip of Yasu's spear to propel himself, Toru rose into the air.

A second later, Toru swooped down, aiming his daggers at Yasu's throat.

Yasu realized what Toru was going to do, so he used the base of the spear to parry Toru's attack.

"You fell" Toru said, in the same instant he disappeared, reappearing in front of Yasu.

"Shit!"

Yasu jumped and tried to hit the boy with the tip of the spear, but Toru covered himself with one of the daggers, at the same time using the other dagger to wound Yasu.

"Damn brat" Yasu said as he tried to get away from Toru so he could recover.

But something strange happened, as a smile formed on Yasu's mouth.

Toru noticed that and instantly felt something liquid start to come out of his head, so using one of his hands he touched the place where that liquid came from, and when he saw it, the look in his eyes changed again.

Yasu had managed to hit Toru, although the blow was with the base of the spear, that alone was enough to cause him damage.

"Hahaha See you brat? Even if you are fast there is one thing you lack, and that is strength" Yasu said while laughing, but his words were completely wrong.

Because at that moment Toru proved Yasu's words wrong.

When he least expected it, Toru appeared in front of Yasu again and using his legs he managed to deliver a punch to Yasu's stomach.

*Boom!

Due to the force of the impact, Yasu crashed into a tree, but Toru's attack was still not over.

"Odoru gyakusatsu: 3-Teki no mizu [Dancing Massacre: Three drops of water]" Toru said as he used the hilt of the daggers to hit Yasu in the head.

But Yasu managed to recover in time, dodging the attack.

"I've had enough of playing..." Yasu said as he swung the spear.

There was a bit of blood coming out of his mouth, which only made him feel angrier.

(I shouldn't have bragged about my strength) Yasu thought as he adopted a strange combat stance.

"Brat, it's been a while since I used all my strength, so I might get a little excited, that's why I'm telling you, don't die so fast" Yasu said while smiling.

Instantly, the white bandage covering Yasu's right eye started to stain with blood, as if that eye was crying.

"Janome: Amai doku [Eye of the snake: Sweet poison" Yasu said as he raised the spear.

Slowly the tip began to release a strange purple viscous liquid.

(Poison...) Toru thought, now if he let the poison from the spear reach to touch him, the fight would be over.

"Get ready, brat!"

Yasu launched himself into the attack, he immediately managed to connect a blow against Toru's daggers, but Yasu's intentions was to make the poison manage to touch the grey-eyed boy, something Toru wasn't going to allow.

(What is this? I'm scared) Ino thought as she watched the battle between ninjas.

"Is this being a ninja, kill or be killed? I don't want this...I don't want to die" Ino said as tears slid down her cheeks.

(Toru... give up, if we surrender maybe they'll let us live) Ino thought as she looked at the grey eyed boy, but at that moment, when she saw Toru's eyes, Ino swallowed her own words.

*Clang, clink, clank*.

The sound of the daggers and spear clashing was deafening, with every second that passed, the bloodlust in Toru increased, that was something that could be clearly seen just by looking at his eyes, those gray eyes that shone like the eyes of a predator.

(Shit, shit, shit!)

Yasu was against a rock and a hard place, every second that passed his chakra was depleting as well as his stamina.

"Not enough!" shouting as he raised the spear in the air, Yasu looked at Toru with a disgusted expression.

*Boom!

Toru shot out against one of the walls of a house, Yasu had used the base of his spear to push him away so he could think of something, but that wouldn't happen, because at that moment Toru wasn't himself.

"Damn..."

Yasu looked at Toru, who was climbing out of the rubble, for a few seconds his legs trembled and an expression of fear formed on his face as he looked into the boy's gray eyes.

If he could describe Toru's gaze with a single word, Yasu would only say:

"Death..." Yasu said as he looked at the boy.

Toru held the daggers in his hands, while his eyes shone due to the moonlight.

(No, I must not fear. By Miroku-sama, I will kill the brat) With a displeased expression on his face, Yasu held the belly tightly as he started walking in Toru's direction.

"Damn brat, you've given me a lot of trouble" Yasu said.

*Clang

The metal clashed again causing an echoing noise. Toru and Yasu looked into each other's eyes as they applied force on their weapons.

*Clank, clink*

Yasu swung the spear from side to side, trying to block Toru's thrusts, but it seemed more and more deficient to be able to block the attacks.

(You tried to kill me, now I'll do the same) Toru thought as he swung the daggers again and again, but a strange voice reproached.

(No, we are not that kind of person) Said the voice, but Toru ignored it.

"Die..." Toru said as he stabbed Yasu in the abdomen with the dagger.

"How...?"

Yasu looked at Toru, who had appeared in front of him as if he was a ghost. Crimson color began to cover Yasu's clothes, but still.

"Hahaha, you damn brat, you're overconfident" Yasu said as he saw the spear, to which he had managed to make a small wound on Toru's face.

"Eh...?"

Toru touched the wound with his fingers for a few seconds and after that his eyes shone brightly as he looked at Yasu.

The spear man felt a shiver run through his body as he looked into Toru's eyes, those gray eyes that seemed to personify death.

*Clang!

Toru jumped in the air and tried to kill Yasu, but he blocked the attack with the spear, but the force Toru used in the attack was so much that it caused a crater to form on the ground.

Ino watched that from afar, the expression on her face only showed the fear she had at that instant.

Everything Ino knew about Toru had gone to shit just by seeing what the grey-eyed boy was capable of doing.

All the times she had seen him in the classroom, alone and silent, all the times Iruka scolded Toru for having such low grades, all of that didn't matter anymore.

(He... he's going to kill him) Ino thought as she looked at the state of the battle.

Toru was approaching Yasu, who was lying on the ground due to a strong punch he received.

The daggers shone reflected the moonlight, while his expressionless face looked at Yasu.

(Die) Toru thought, but that voice tried to stop him, yet Toru just ignored the voice and raised the daggers, he was ready to kill Yasu, but the man with the spear disappeared in a small cloud of smoke.

"What an idiot" Yasu said as he appeared behind Toru's back.

"Die" Wielding the spear, Yasu approached Toru, but the sound of clashing metal caused sparks to light up the place.

Immediately Toru climbed onto Yasu's back, and....

"Ahh!!!"

That beautiful crimson red liquid splashed on Toru's face, while a heartbreaking scream was heard.

Yasu fell to the ground as blood began to pour out of the place where he was stabbed. But Toru did not stop.

Again and again, as Ino watched with a horrified expression on her face, Toru stabbed Yasu.

The sound of the dagger piercing Yasu's skin made Ino feel nauseous, it didn't take long for her to vomit from the disgust she felt at the sight of the mutilated body.

(Stop) The voice in Toru's head spoke, but he just ignored it and continued stabbing Yasu with a poker expression on his face.

Every time the knife pierced Yasu, blood splattered on Toru's hands and clothes.

A few seconds passed and Toru felt a hand touch his shoulder.

"That was enough, Toru" A man's voice was heard.

That man was Yamato, who was looking at that boy in front of him with a neutral expression on his face.

After listening to his sensei, Toru stopped and looked at the blood on his hands.

"Sorry, I lost control" Toru said as he stood up from the ground.

Meanwhile, Yamato looked at that golden haired girl, who had a scared expression on her face.

(Ha~ how am I going to explain this to the Hokage?)
