1 The Bell Rings

"Good morning Ms. G!"

A familiar voice woke me up from a slight slumber. I barely noticed that i fell asleep on my desk.

Raising my head to see who it was. A smile rained down over me when I saw it was Candice. A charming little girl who never fails to greet me whenever she can.

"Good morning Candice" I smiled back at her.

A few moments later i heard the door swung open and tiny little kids started entering. How I love to see my first graders early in the morning. I love the noise, the sweetness and the energy.

Being a teacher sure is giving me all the love i need.

The pleasure of having to mold these young minds is giving me the inspiration to go each day and forget the morbid past that once haunted me.

I am Gizelle Ramos. Kids call me Miss G. I just turned 23 this year. I am new comer here at the school. Still adjusting from my old life though most of it were hidden and shady. I am enjoying my life as a teacher.

"Let us pray kids.."

"In the Name of the Father, the Son and..."

The door swung open.

I stared in horror as i see one armed man equipped with a long gun started aiming at me.

There was like a moment of silence as our eyes met. I couldn't move. I'm caught between the safety of my kids and myself.

In the midst of this situation. I couldn't respond and think clearly what must be done. It's as my body froze and i couldn't move.

Then in a split second i saw from the corner of my eye...

"Don't hurt Ms. G!"

I aimed to shout but no voice came out my mouth.

Candice rushed to the door and without any hesitation, the armed mad fire 3 shots at her.

Everyone shouted.

My eyes widened.

The man ran away from the room.

I lost my balance and fell on the floor.

When i came back to my senses, i ran to Candice's side.

Checked her for pulse but there was none.

I tried to revive her but it didn't work.

I motioned to my kids and tell them to hide under their chairs.

"Everything will be fine. I'm going out to call the police okay? For now, I want you all to be quiet."

I went near my bag and tried to locate where my scissors are. When i got them i headed outside the door.
