2 Operation: Gas Station

Sooner or later, my hands started to move. I was able to move my back. My legs were active, and my mouth and eyes went wide open. I saw myself very hurt and—in the middle of the road?! I saw a bunch of cars coming my way. How did I get here? I looked around—it was a highway. I looked down. There was another highway, and a gas station by it.

I jumped over the highway, and I landed perfectly. We, Orbals, can stand falling from a building, since speed is our friend.

I went to the gas station. But instead, they were humans. I decided to sneak my way into the gas station. I couldn't show myself as an Orbal. I went behind the building. Someone opened the door out of the gas station, with a cup of coffee. I managed to not let her see me. She went into her station wagon and luckily drove off. That was close.

There happened to be a back door of the gas station. I went to it; but thanks to my instincts, I saw a bunch of men with guns that were loaded with ammo. "I heard that an Orbal was in this country somewhere." They knew!

I held the orb close to me.

I tried to be safe, and not make any fights, like last time. I looked at the little window to see what more they were saying.

"Yeah, I heard that punk had this orb or something. Pretty useful to our rival. I moved my head closer to the door. Then, the door went down. I don't know to this day if that door was weak, or I was very strong in human furniture. The men looked at me, with the brown eyes and black beanie with golden chain necklaces. And they were black.

"Shoot him!" one said very quickly. The orb turned to a spear again. The spear twirled as their bullets flew into action. And obviously, it blocked all of them. The orb turned to a blaster, blasting men in the room. I'm surprised I even found this orb. One man smacked the orb out of my hand. "It's him!" he shouted. I got onto his neck, and pushed him to the door inside the building. The door opened. I should've remembered it was just the door—to this day.

I heard cries from the direction the door was. I walked over there, and there was the most beautiful Orb—wait.

It was my crush, McKayla! "Kai!" she shouted. "Yes, I'm gonna save you," I told her. "No, Kai!" she said. I looked behind me, and a guy choked me. I only managed to say the words, "Help!" Then, I knocked out.

It was later that night, I saw another dark skinned man. He was pretty tall, by six foot three. He was with a black beanie, black long jacket, black shirt, you know what—everything black! "Who is he?" I asked McKayla, that was by me. "McNane, a leader of those people," McKayla said. I swallowed. "They want us too, especially, the one with the orb! What was wrong with you?"

"Which one, the orb or us."

"Both!"

I looked at the floor. "Well, I got chased by a dragon—"

"You what?!"

"An orbal dragon. And a few soldiers too."

McKayla sighed. "Do you even know about the orbal dragons?"

I shook my head. McKayla said, "Well, they can predict the future, and change it too. But, I mean they're good dragons."

"Then how come that dragon wanted to kill me."

"I guess there's also bad ones?"

I sighed in frustration. "How did you get here?" I asked. McKayla shrugged. "I guess by a river or something. I got lost on a hiking trip." "I fell from a waterfall—"

"What do you mean, you should've died!"

"I was in a van."

"Still!"

"At least I'm alive!"

"But it doesn't make sense?!"

"Did you want me to die?!"

"No!"

"Then why are you saying 'it doesn't make sense?!'"

"Because, I'm afraid of you!"

I stopped. "Why would you be afraid of me?" "You are one of the chosen ones to control the orb," she said. "You were born by the Orbalcentost. Why do you think it's so important?" See, I'm learning stuff, I don't need to be in orbschool. "You see, the orb is kind of like a living thing. And it knew that you were the chosen one. So it made you go to it."

I looked at the orb in the other room. "Thanks, I guess." McKayla smirked. "Why do you think it always turns into a weapon when someone attacks you?" I thought about that actually.

"But, I was afraid you might use it for evil instead." I laughed. "Why would I?" I said. "Because, others had. They believe they are so powerful, they can overrule the empire. And I didn't want to be close to you, because I would've been the first one for you to attack."

I looked at the orb, then at McKayla. I would never be like that. Why would I? I was even scared to death to face Captain Dice's men and McNane's men. "I didn't know," I said, while shrugging. But, I guess this "living orb" has a very deep connection because it just moved onto my hand.

"What in the world," McKayla said. The orb was literally in my hand! I laughed. The orb turned into a blaster, and shot the window. I love this orb! "The window's broken!" someone shouted. Next thing you know, they burst into the room. The orb turns to a sword. If you ever noticed, the orb controls itself. So, it dragged me and it slashed a man's leg. Blood was left on the sword. I slashed a man's head, and it was a bunch of slashing. Someone held my arm where the sword was. But a shield appeared in my left hand, so I hit his head.

I flipped over a man and slashed his back. Guns roared with bullets.

But, guess what. The sword flashed a wave of light and it went through people's bodies. Then, as you know, they fell dead. McKayla looked amazed and disgusted because of all the blood on the floor. "Hey, like my performance?" I asked McKayla. McKayla's mouth didn't move.

"So, where do we go?" I asked. Apparently, there was nowhere to go. Captain Dice's men were surrounding the gas station, with a bunch of cars with machine guns on top. "Who are they?" McKayla said.

"The reason why I fell off a waterfall." McKayla gasped, "They were looking for you?!"

"There's no time to yell," I said. "We might need to sneakily go past them." I opened the door, and more men of McNane's was outside the door. I sighed. "We might have to make some noise." Me and McKayla went out the door, and bullets already zoomed at us. The sword stopped all of them. I slashed men from left to right. McKayla fought with bare hands. She did something to a guy that still surprises me to this day. Let me explain it in steps.

She punched a man

Dragged the man's head to the wall.

The man unfortunately gave her a hard punch, all the way to the other wall.

The man ran up to her, but she went on his neck and pinned his face on a stove.

She turned it on, and the stove burned him.

All the men were pretty dead. But, two powerful bullets hit me and I fell. "Kai!" I shouted. She put me on her back. Hey, I've noticed that I've been holding this orb this whole time. That orb can stick. Then, McNane came out with a gun facing at her. "Hey, um—" "Shush up!" he shouted. "You put that orbal down, or I'll take you both."

McKayla panicked for sure. "Um-um-uh, the police are outside the station!" McNane's face turned exasperated. "Men, police are outside the door! It galls me everytime." McKayla went out the door. Captain Dice shouted, "Shoot!" Rifles reported right after that order. McKayla got into a car—a Cadillac CTS car. She drove quickly out of the gas station. We escaped!

We were on a closed highway. So, no cars were there. McKayla stopped the car. I grunted in pain. "Just stay still. Be careful, okay. She got a random belt at the back. She wrapped it up on my waist. The blood got more

redder. "You should be okay," she said. I nodded. "Hey, are you pressing the pedal?" McKayla turned around. Cars were pushing us. But, not regular cars, Dice's cars. "Move!!!" I shouted. She pushed the pedal. The car went ten times faster. An SUV went by us. It rammed into us. It made a huge crack on the car. McKayla drifted left and right.

Screech!

She stepped the brake. The next thing you know, we bounced onto the other side. Rifles came up and shot our windows. "Get down!"

"Ah!"

At least a wall blocked them. "Whoo! That was—" They rammed us. "How?!" McKayla shouted. Probably because they were in the other lane!!!! We're dead. McKayla steered the wheel to ram the other car. That really didn't work out. Both cars were facing upward. "Ah, dang it!" I shouted. My wound started to bleed more. The orb shot out from my hand and then onto the wheel. "No!" But it became a wheel with spikes. It split the car in half. "This orb is something else," McKayla said. And the orb returned back to my hand. Someone shot out our tires. The CTS twirled and bounced. "Whooooooooaaaaaah!!!!"

we screamed as the car flew. It crashed and rolled. Airbags blew out of its cages. Glass turned into fragmented knives. The car rolled and bounced. And it slid into another gas station. And I ain't talking about the McNane one. It continued and then, the car jumped and crashed in the river. I was still conscious, the belt had many rips. It pretty much saved me. But not McKayla, she was knocked out unconscious. "McKayla!" I shouted. I held her and shouted. "McKayla!!!!" If you didn't know, McKayla was always distant from me, I don't know why—well I didn't know why until the gas station.

A helicopter showed its light. I laid McKayla down, and myself too, so that we wouldn't be caught. "Car destroyed, most likely dead," the person inside the helicopter said. I sighed in frustration. All of this was not my fault. But, McKayla. What would happen to her?
