1 The Limbo

It's morning, I open my eyes and stare at the clock waiting for them to adjust.

The time is 8 o' clock.

"Oh no, I'm going to be late", I jump out of bed and rush to get ready for school.

I run down stairs grab a piece of toast and a banana.

"Bye Mom and Dad" I say as I hurry out the door.

I jump onto my bike and start speeding to school. As I count the cars I pass, I see a rock up ahead.

"Oh shit", I try to slow down reaching for the breaks but it's too late. I hit the rock and fall off my bike, catching myself with my hands and knees as I land in front of a moving limbo.

I immediately shield myself from the car trying to block it, waiting for my end. "beeeeeep", the limbo horn sounds and it stops right in front of me almost hitting me.

I go to stand but feel a sudden pain in my knee. "ouch", I grunt in pain as I hold my knee, struggling to stand up.

The limbo driver runs outside of the limbo. " Are you okay miss?", he says worriedly.

"I'm okay, thanks. I'm sorry for almost causing an accident, I'll be on my way now", I say still trying to hurry to school.

I fight the pain in my knee and go to grab my bike.

Right before I ride off, I take one last look behind me and I see a young man in the back of the limbo staring at me.

I turn back around and start riding away. But the face of that man won't leave my thoughts. I thought about his face and how handsome he looked. I wished that it was him who came out the limbo to check on me.

A few minutes later I finally arrived at school and jump off my bike sprinting to class. I run into class huffing and puffing out of breath as the students stare at me.

I see my friends Mary and Mike waving to me and gesturing to a seat they have saved for me.

I start to walk to the seat and I hear from behind me, "you are late Miss Joseph."

I turn around, "I'm sorry Miss, I was caught in an accident."

She looks me up and down. She than gestures to my knee, "I think you should go to the health room and get that wrapped."

I look at my knee, which has a cut from my fall.

"Okay, Thank you Miss", I say as I walk to the health room.

On my way there I see the same boy that I saw in the back of the limbo walking down the hall. I thought to myself what is he doing here? Is he a student here too? I keep walking and notice him looking at me. I immediately ignore him and try to stay out of his way before making a fool of myself.

I get to the health room and go to the lady sitting behind the desk. "ummm...miss I'm here to get my knee wrapped, I had an accident this morning on my way to school", I say as she looks up at me.

"Okay you can go sit down in the bed I'll go get the wraps for you and the rubbing alcohol to clean it", she says getting up.

I sit on the bed waiting for her to return. But instead of her it's the boy from before. He looks at me and I think to myself, is he following me?
