2 Korean Bingo

"BINGO!" yelled the little old Korean woman. "Haha! Ella dear, would you please go collect my winnings?" The young girl with short, tar dark hair rose up from the brown metal chairs and began to walk towards the prize table.

"I see your grandma won yet again! If she keeps this up we'll run out of prizes!" boasted the announcer.

"Ahh haha...she surely is something ya know," replied Ella. While awkwardly walking back to the table, Ella noticed everything seemed quiter than usual. Ella excitedly shouted, "Hey grams looks like you won a basket of chocolate!"

"Oh my! how am I supposed to eat this much?" replied Grams. "How about you keep it, Ella? It's not much good for an old timer like me anyhow."

Ella didn't complain one bit, she loved chocolate almost as much as she loved her Grandma. "Thanks, Grams! All this waiting around has made me quite the hungry kid."

"Okay, everyone, that's it for tonight!" shouted the announcer. "We'll be back here next Tuesday for another round. Maybe someone else will get a chance to win next week!"

"We should hurry up before the bus gets full, Ella. Just let me grab the rest of my things. Put your jacket on too, I think I can hear rain out there," said Grams. She was right, and they went off to the bus stop in the pouring rain. "Good thing we brought this umbrella, Ella, or else we would've been soaked!" Chuckling as they walked briskly to the bus stop, Ella felt the air change a bit.

"Do you feel that Grams?" inquired Ella.

"What, the rain? Haha!" replied Grams. "How could you not? It's pouring out there!"

"No! The air feels strange..." stated Ella. "I don't quite know how to explain it, Grams. I just—feel something."

"I'm sure it's just the coldness you're feeling sweetie," explained Grams. "You're not used to Seoul weather yet!"

"Maybe you're right Grams. Perhaps it's just the cold air." After walking for what seemed like forever, the duo finally made it to the bus stop. Ella sat with Grams on the bench and looked out onto the rainy road, attempting to catch a glimpse of the bus headlights. A couple of minutes passed by and there was still no sign of the bus. "Do you think the rain has delayed the bus, Grams?" asked Ella.

"Oh no, surely not. All bus drivers in Seoul are trained drivers. The rain shouldn't be holding anyone up," replied Grams.

Just then Ella noticed lights in the Misty rain. "There it is! Finally now we can get out of this horrendous weather!" exclaimed Grams. The lights began to come closer and closer. She noticed that the bus was going faster than usual. "Strange. It dosen't seem like he's slowing down," said Grams.

The screeching of tires was all that Ella heard before turning around and noticing a massive one ton bus sliding in their direction. "GRAMS!" shouted Ella. Before the bus could hit them, Ella hands started to become darker in color. SWOOSH! Ella reached out her left arm and five long, pitch black tendrils cane flying out at the bus, seemingly absorbing the light around them with their darkness. They began to wrap themselves around the bus. Ella's pupils turned dark, and she began to concentrate even more. The bus stopped dead in it's tracks and started to straighten back out onto the road. Once the bus was back on the road, Ella's dark hands began to turn into the pinkish color it was before, and her eyes back to their natural brown. Exhaustedly, Ella said, "Sorry, Grams, but you know I just couldn't let that hit us."

"It's okay, Ella, but we need to quicky find another bus stop before those passengers noticed what happened," replied Grams. Ella quickly agreed, and they hurried into an alleyway close by. "There's another bus stop close to us. Let's hurry home," said Grams. The duo managed to find another bus and began their journey back to Gram's apartment.

Once home, Ella realized that she had accidentally left her chocolate prize on the bench. Gloomily, she told her Grams good night and went off to her room. Still tired from using her power, she threw herself onto her bed. The weird atmosphere was gone now. She couldn't sleep for a long while no matter how hard she tried.

After hours of just lying there, she was tired of the nothingness so she got up and sat in the floor. Concentrating, she conjured up a few tendrils out of both hands and formed into fish. She swam them around the air, bobbing up and down and around each other. Then, with her left hand, she turned them into a dog. It ran around the room, silently barking and panting. It was beautiful in the moonlight from the window of her room.

"Go to bed, Ella!" shouted Grams, sounding annoyed, from her bedroom. "I can hear you walking around. It's almost two o'clock in the morning and you still have to get up for school."

"Sorry, Grams!" Ella shouted in reply. Taking her grandma's words, she retracted her dog back in to her hand and crawled into bed. She was tired again from using her powers. Out of her hands she made a pitch black sleeping mask and covered her eyes. Finally, she fell asleep.
