Unbound 3

"Looks like we're the only ones who made it this far. Was that actually a dragon? A harbinger of the End Times?" He asked. Even though I knew it wasn't a question, I still answered.

"It was a dragon. I'm sure of it." Then I showed my still bounded hands. "Care to help me with this?" I asked.

"Oh, got it." He took a dagger out and cut the bindings.

I rubbed my wrists which became swollen from being bounded for so long. "Thanks."

"No problem. If we want to get out of here, we need all the help we can get. Look around the place, there should be some equipment here. Meanwhile I will try to find some ailments for these burns." He showed his burns.

I heeded his words and looked around the place and found a chest containing some Imperial armor.

I quickly wore it and looked around the place for a weapon which didn't take long because the racks were full of them.

Swords, daggers, spears, war hammers, battle axes.

I took a sword and swung it to get a feel for it and it felt like it's been forever since I've felt this secure.

I strapped it on my belt and took two more daggers and strapped them on my back.

After finishing gearing up, I looked towards the other weapons, a pity I would be leaving them here, I could have used some spares and could have sold them in case I needed money which I need obviously.

As soon as I thought of storing them, a goledn ripple appeared on the air in front of me.

It didn't feel familiar, but it also didn't feel unfamiliar. Like I knew what it was… Yes, I knew what it was.

It was a storage.

My storage.

It was endless, infinite.

But also, empty.

But no matter, I had somewhere to stash all these weapons now, so I did exactly that.

I took the weapons from the racks and tossed them into the ripple.

I could 'feel' what was inside and where they were. And I could control them. So I placed the weapons by their types and tidied the place. I could also take them out with a simple thought.

After I was done, I approached Hadvar who was still tending to his burns.

He noticed me approaching and turned to look at me.

"You had the gaze of a warrior before, now you properly look like one." He finished his tending and wore his armor.

"How can we get out of this place?" I asked.

"The dragon is still out the so leaving through the entrances is not possible. But this keep has an underground level, we can only hope that we can find a way out through there."

"Got it. Lead the way."

We walked though the halls and came upon an iron door. I tried to open it but to no avail.

"It's locked."

"Shit."

"But maybe I can do something." I pointed my palm towards the lock and fired a stream of flames. Not big enough to engulf us in it also, but not small enough to be shrugged by the lock.

"You use magic? Well to each their own I guess." He said with disapproval at first but then shrugged with indifference.

"Why do you say so? Is there something wrong with magic?" I asked with my interest piqued. If there is such a convenient thing like magic, how could someone not approve of it?

"First if all, it is the only thing going on with those wretched elves and secondly I have seen it corrupt too many people. The College sits upon our land but refuses to be associated with it. Those arrogant pricks."

"The College?"

He gave me a knowing look. "Yeah, The College of Winterhold. Anyone who wants to study the arcane arts go there to study and broaden their horizons, or so they say but some say that they were the reason of the Great Collapse which the city hasn't yet recovered from. If you are bent on following the arcane path, you can go there to take a look I guess."

"Thanks for the information." With the end of our talk, the lock finally melted and the door opened.

"It's open, let's go." Hadvar pushed the door open and I followed right behind.

We headed down through the stairs, just in time to avoid a collapsing roof.

"Look out! Damn, that dragon doesn't give up easily." We threw ourselves on the ground and made it just in time.

Afterwards we continued walking with cautious steps, watching above for any other collapsing.

Then we made it to a storeroom.

"An old storeroom. There should be potion here, might come in handy. Check those crates. I will check the barrels."

I did as he said and checked the crates. There were around 20 crates scattered around the room and I found 5 of them were filled with potions of varying colors. Red, blue and green were in the majority. There were some other colors like black and there were transparent ones but they were in the minority.

"I found some." I said and Hadvar approached me.

"Perfect." He said and downed three red potions. "Haah, much better."

"What potions are these?" I asked.

"You don't know? You must have come from a very remote village then. These are pretty well known. Red is for health potions, blue is for magicka and green is for stamina. These are just minor ones, not that good but gets the job done. They say there are even ultimate potions that could restore lost limbs."

"I see. What about these then?" I showed him the black ones and the transparent ones.

"I don't know much about the black but they are mostly poison. I reckon it is as well. For the transparent ones they are used for enhancing an aspect like being better at using a sword for a while or running much longer. The effects vary so I won't be much help regarding those."

"Okay, got it. Thanks for the info." I said and stored the crates in my storage.

He look slack-jawed. "What was that?"

"Magic." I said.
