2 Chapter 2 - How He Died (2)

What? What happened?

Jeffrey was sure that he was in the kitchen before, experimenting with a new dish. However, he didn't know where he is now. This place was dark and cold.

Jeffrey's calmness from his first life didn't go away. He tried to think about what happened to him before. So, his mind went back for a couple of hours before.

The morning was especially cold for this year. The winter was not like last year's winter. The coldness could kill anybody instantly.

Jeffrey already woke up from his bed and went to his kitchen to practice his cut skills. After Ascalapus gave him a second chance to live, he definitely had to grab it.

In his first life, he couldn't do anything besides stuck in the hospital room. Even if Ascalapus sent him back to his first life, he couldn't change anything except for waiting and waiting.

He thought that Ascalapus would send him to the earth as Jeffrey Lynch, but with a different body structure and a new skill. Without him knowing, Ascalapus actually sent him to another world that was completely different than the earth he knew!

No, he was sure that this was the earth, but what about the people in this world?

It gave him a different feeling about the 'modern' world he knew. Wait, is this... the earth before the modern time?

He tried to check it from the people's outfit and appearance and he was sure that he went back in the past.

Long story short, Jeffrey tried to cope up with the rhythm of life in the past life. With some kind of system that led him to a good way of cooking, he successfully opened up a restaurant.

It was not that big, but enough for a lot of people. Not long after the restaurant was open, a lot of media had been praising the restaurant. They gave Jeff's restaurant a really good review.

Jeff was happy. He could rewrite his history of life from being a sick person to become a healthy and successful person. He thought that he would die with his name on the history book of cooking. That would be great.

However, he soon remembered it. He died while trying to experiment with his new dish. The kitchen exploded and once again, he died.

"Good job for remembering your last moment!"

A voice could be heard by him. It was a familiar voice and he knew the person behind this voice.

"What is the meaning of this, Ascalapus?"

The blonde guy approached Jeffrey and suddenly the world around him turned colorful. The darkness he saw was no longer there.

He was back on the ground in the middle of the lake. He saw that huge tree again and this blonde god.

Ascalapus was biting his lips and grinning. He quickly explained himself, "I am so sorry! I think I did something wrong... again."

Jeffrey's calmness was as deep as the ocean, but after he took a look at the god who grinned in front of him, his calm was threatened.

"What did you do?"

"It was puco! One of my puco did this!"

"What happened?"

"Well, the truth is I tried to send you to another world that is different from the earth, but the transmission here gets broken and it sent you to the same earth you were living before but in a different time."

"Okay, I already guess it."

Ascalapus nodded his head and continued, "At least your skill still actively fine and that was good. You should have died in your sixty, but one of my puco got drunk and push the 'dead' button. So, Thanatos' grim reaper immediately cut off your life."

After he was done explaining everything, Ascalapus' head went down as he felt guilty.

Jeffrey unbelievably looked at the god in front of him. Was his life just a mere joke to him? How could a drunk employee even be allowed to come to work?

"Haah... So, what will you do?"

Hearing his question, Ascalapus' face became brighter. He smiled ear to ear and said, "Don't worry! The one in front of you is Ascalapus, The God of Life! This time, I will make sure that nothing could happen to you."

Jeffrey twitched his eyes and responded to him, "Hearing you say that give me goosebumps."

"Haha... This great holy god, like before, would give you three wishes for your next life."

"What about my unused last wish from before?"

Ascalapus confusedly looked at Jeffrey before saying, "Ah right, that wish. Sure, sure, you have 4 wishes then."

Jeffrey nodded as he closed his eyes. In his second life, he made many mistakes. If he didn't have the system in his head, he would die right after being reincarnated for sure.

So, Jeffrey tried to look at the past of his life. He tried to review it before he decided on a wish.

Maybe he would try to keep his knowledge from before intact. Right, he should do that.

"My first wish is to keep my knowledge from my first and second life still intact."

Ascalapus nodded as he typed on his phone.

"My second wish is..."

What could he try to fix next?

Right, that was it! Jeffrey remembered the time when he went to a forest near the city. He needed to search for some ingredients that hardly find in the city market.

He couldn't forget how dense that forest was. Some people tried to stop him, but he couldn't ignore the request from the system. So, some people that he knew decided to go along with him.

There was a young boy that became a regular in his restaurant. His name was Bryant Collins. He volunteered to accompany Jeffrey.

Since Bryant was insisted on coming along, he couldn't refuse that boy's request.

Long story short, the journey was difficult. There were so many beasts that lived in the forest and from 5 people among Jeffrey's party, now it was only 4 people and 2 of them suffered serious injuries.

He couldn't force his party to continue the journey, so he decided to send them back. The system provided a lot of ways to survive anyway.

"I decided."

"Sure, sure. Just tell this great holy god."

"My second wish is to have a healing skill."

Ascalapus nodded once again and said, "Not that hard. Noted."

"And for last wishes... Just keep it. I don't need it now." Jeffrey let out a sigh. He saved that last wish like before, not that he intended to come back to this place again, but he really didn't know what kind of wish he wants.

"Alright, the reincarnation will start in three..."

Like his first reincarnation, a glow of light appeared under him. The light was forming a circle with some weird words in there.

"Two..."

His feet started to get blurry and not long from that he could see his half body was gone.

"One..."

By the end of the counting, Jeffrey's body was gone. Ascalapus proudly nodded about his work. He swears this time the reincarnation must be perfect.

When he tried to leave, his phone was ringing. With his lazy voice, he answered, "What is it?"

"God, this is puco from the administration. I got a report before that likely the reincarnation on behalf of Jeffrey Lynch was failed."

"What? What happened?" Ascalapus went insane after he got a report like that. He could feel how red his face was. This was so embarrassing!

"Looks like the puco in the operating system brought his child to the room and that child pushed the wrong button."

"No... No way... How could this be?" Ascalapus fell to the ground when he felt his leg like a jelly. "How much is the damage?"

"Luckily, the damage is not that worse."

Meanwhile, on the earth, Jeffrey opened his eyes. He still remembered his first and second life. He also remembered the time he spends in the world of god.

"Status," said Jeffrey to check his status. However, Jeffrey suddenly became silent.

Who was the voice he heard before? Sound so feminine?

"No, No way..." Jeffrey started to look at his hands, his leg, and what shocked him the most was the boobs!
