40 Summer Trip ft. Luna

Cross skipped the train and just teleported home, holding Luna's hand. He still didn't understand why she wanted to go to his house, but here we are.

Cross walked inside and Luna followed him, looking a bit shy and nervous.

Grundle appeared in front of Cross and bowed saying "Your Highness.." Cross waved and said "We have guests." Grundle's eyes lit up, looking at Luna, as he said "My Queen." Luna blushed and said "I'm not a Queen.." Grundle smiled and said "Of course, of course. Let me take you bags." before taking her bags and teleporting away.

Cross walked through the house and walked into the kitchen, he flicked the lights on and almost had a heart attack as Marcus, Alyssa, Astoria, Daphne, and Draco shouted "Congratulations!" Cross jumped in shock, not expecting this.

Marcus laughed and said happily "Hm. My own son, a Triwizard Champion! Hahahaah" Alyssa elbowed him and pointed at Luna, Marcus was stunned before a cheeky smile appeared on his face.

Cross cursed "Fuck! I almost died!" Daphne, Astoria, and Draco laughed and started talking to him, while Alyssa kidna- lead Luna towards her, talking to her happily.

They celebrated for a long time before everyone went to sleep, or in Draco's case, home.

Cross brought Luna to his room and closed the door on the rest of them, grumbling "Vultures!" Luna giggled and sat on Cross' bed, swinging her legs with a smile.

Cross let out a breath and turned around saying "A handful aren't they?" Luna smiled as she said "They're not too bad. I quite like them." Cross smiled and said "Oh, did you?" Luna giggled and nodded with a beautiful smile.

Cross shook his head with a smile and sat on his bed, taking out a map from his storage bag as he said "Where do you want to go?" Luna tilted her head and said "You're taking me around the world?" Cross smiled softly and said "I still owe you a date from the Yule Ball night."

Luna smiled sweetly before closing her eyes and waving her finger around wildly, Cross moved the map around and Luna poked the map. They both stopped and Cross looked as he said "Canada. Specifically... Montreal. Good choice!"

Luna was excited and said "I haven't been to Canada before!" Cross smirked and said "Me neither! Let's go!" Luna was stunned and said "Right now?" Cross chuckled and picked her up, threw his beast bag on his back and jumped out of the window, leaving a note for Marcus.

Cross jumped on his strings into the air, disappearing into the night.

Luna held his neck as she said in awe "You're strings can attach to clouds?!" Cross smirked and said "Who's better than me?" Luna giggled and leaned her head on his chest as she said "Hmmm.. Harry Potter, Voldemort, Snape, Dumbledore, Merlin, McGonagall, Me..."

Cross' face was black as Luna went on and on. He said snappily "Which eye of yours is seeing that these people are better than me?" Luna pointed at her right eye and said "This one." Cross laughed and said "Maybe you should get it checked. I'm the best there ever was!" Luna rolled her eyes and smiled softly, agreeing in her heart but not voicing it out.

They traveled to Canada and spent their entire summer there, going on dates, buying things from both the Muggle world and Magical world there. They went to every attraction and even a zoo of magical beasts!

While walking around at the Zoo they bumped into an interesting person.

Cross bumped into an older man holding a briefcase. The briefcase fell to the ground and opened as a creature popped out and ran away, Cross was shocked and whistled. Grey flew out of Cross' bag and grabbed the furry creature, bringing it back to the briefcase.

Cross smiled apologetically as he said "I'm sorry." The man smiled and said "Not to worry! These things happen, the little buggers always try and escape." he looked at Grey and said "Is that a Horntail? No.."

Cross looked at the man's briefcase and said "Excuse me. Is that a beast bag?" The man looked at Cross and said "Now that you mention it... Is that backpack just like my briefcase?" Cross and the man looked at each other in shock.

Luna smiled and hugged Cross' arm feeling it was funny. What are the odds?

Cross stretched out his hand and said "Cross, nice to meet you." The man laughed and shook his hand saying "Newt Scamander, like wise! Might I see your beasts by chance?" Cross smiled and nodded, Grey threw the creature back into Newt's briefcase and landed on Cross' head, feeling that it was nice to get some fresh air.

Cross and Luna followed Newt to a house and Cross jumped into his bag with Luna and Newt.

Newt landed on the ground and whistled as he said "It's true! You used Atmospheric charms?" Cross nodded and said "Yeah. The separate habitats are all occupied by only one." he whistled and Newt watched as Blue, Selena, Carl, and Grey flew over. Unfortunately he hadn't seen Buckbeak for a while, Cross hoped he was doing alright.

Newt was amazed by the beasts and said "Is that a Basilisk Dragon?!" Cross smiled widely and said "The only living one! Selena!" Selena came over and nuzzled on Cross' face. Newt asked "May I?" Cross nodded and stepped back.

Newt smiled brightly and stroked Selena's scales saying "Beautiful!" Selena hissed happily.

Cross introduced Newt to the rest and told him that unfortunately he lent his Hippogryff to a friend but he wasn't back yet. Newt understood and was amazed by the creatures, he didn't know what Carl even was.

Cross confessed that he didn't know what Carl was either, but explained that he was a normal Badger before. Due to a tricky situation, Carl had come into contact with a Unicorn horn and now looked like this.

Newt held Carl and felt his fur with a thoughtful expression before saying "Cross, I think this might be a new species entirely! Magical Badgers are rarely heard of but they do exist, I have never seen one with a Unicorn horn however. Do you mind if I log them all?"

Cross shook his head and said "By all means." he looked at Carl and said "What do you want to be called?" Carl replied immediately "God Badger." Cross felt black lines appear on his forehead as he said "God Badger eh... Selena how are you training sessions going?"

Selena laughed and Carl said "Horned Badger is fine too!" Cross chuckled and said "We can name Carl's species Horned badgers?" Newt smiled and said "I was just about to say the same!" Luna giggled and stroked Blue's feathers.

A few dozen minutes later

Cross, Luna, and Newt left Cross' bag and went into Newt's Briefcase, Newt gave them a tour of all the creatures and their habitats, amazing Cross and Luna. Luna was especially excited as she loved Magical Creatures. Cross smiled and held her hand as they looked at everything.

Afterwards Cross and Newt exchanged owls and became friends.

They separated from Newt and continued their trip.

A few weeks later

Luna and Cross were back in England and walking by the country side, when it started to rain. Cross pulled Luna into a tunnel and laughed together, Luna pushed Cross against a wall and said "That was fun.." as she looked into Cross' eyes.

Cross caressed her cheek and said "I'm happy you had fun.." Luna hummed and kissed him, Cross closed his eyes and wrapped his arms around her waist, hugging her closer as they locked lips passionately.

They were interrupted by a loud shout "Expecto Patronum!" Cross and Luna were surprised and walked to a side tunnel to see Harry blowing away a Dementor that was feeding on a muggle. An older lady pulled a basket and said "Oh deary me. Scary creatures those are."

Cross held Luna's hand and walked forward saying "Honestly Harry, why does everything happen to you?" Harry looked up and said "Cross? Luna? What are you two doing here?" Cross sighed and said "We were on a date, but now we seem to have become witnesses."

Luna grumbled "Ruined my mood completely.. Damn Dementor attracting Hufferytinklets!" Cross sighed and squeezed her hand, Harry smiled wryly and said "Sorry." Cross waved and said "It's fine. We should be going back anyway. See you at school, Harry." before walking away with Luna.

Harry waved goodbye and took the muggle with him as he left as well.

Cross said "Do you want to go to my house or home?" Luna smiled and said "I'll see you at school?" Cross nodded and kissed her as he teleported to her house. He greeted Xenophilius before leaving, going back to his home.

Cross laid on his bed and smiled as he placed the stuff he bought with Luna on their trip in his room, before nodding in satisfaction and going to bed.

A few days later

Cross got a letter from Hedwig, he frowned and read the letter before grumbling "Honestly..." he sighed and said "Thank you, Hedwig." as he scratched her neck feathers getting a happy hoot in response before she flew away.

Cross put on his Yule Ball suit and revealed his jewelry before leaving the house telling Marcus he had to go to a hearing at the Ministry as a witness. Marcus drove him there and Cross walked into the Ministry before looking for the courtroom.

A few minutes later he walked inside and sat down in the benches, unbuttoning his suit jacket.

Dumbledore said "I'd like to call a witness, Minister." before looking at Cross, who squinted at him for a split second before standing up and walking to the chair in the middle of a court, facing a group of Wizards with strange hats.

Cross hat down and crossed his legs. A woman said "Please describe the attack." Cross coughed and said "Mr. Potter was being attacked by a Dementor, unwilling to die he used a Patronus Charm to send it away. Afterwards he saw a poor muggle boy being fed on by another Dementor and graciously saved his life."

Cross smiled and added "Perhaps they were a rogue pair of Dementor lovers?" Fudge tapped his gavel on the table and said "Mr. Greengrass, do you swear what you have said was true?" Cross nodded and said "Unless I am secretly blind then yes."

The woman who spoke before smiled and said "Could you describe what you were doing during the event?" Cross coughed and said "Erm. I was occupied with something else." Harry chuckled and looked down, Cross' ears twitched and he added "Ms...." the woman said "Bones."

Cross was surprised and said "Do you happen to know a Susan Bones?" The woman smiled "She's my niece." Cross smiled and said "I thought so, very nice girl. I see she takes after her aunt." Ms. Bones smiled and Fudge hit his gavel as he said "Focus on the hearing please."

Cross continued "Perhaps it's not my place as a witness, but had Mr. Potter not stopped the Dementors, perhaps you would have a dead muggle on your hands. Plus..." he grinned as he added "Aren't Dementors under the control of the Ministry?"

Dumbledore stepped back and watched the show as his eyes flashed, the were murmurs and another woman said "Excuse me, I couldn't help but notice that you seem to be accusing the Ministry of sending the Dementors?"

Cross looked confused and said "Pardon me madam, are you the Minister?" the woman was confused and replied "No-" Cross cut her off and said coldly "That's what I thought. Shut your mouth when the Minister is speaking!" he raised his brows in surprise and shock as he continued "Or could it be you think you're above the Minister?! Perhaps you think Minister Fudge is unsuitable to lead the Ministry any longer?!"

Cross made an angry face as he berated "I'll have you know, Minister Fudge is a very good man, who cares about the younger generation of Wizards!" he took it a step further and directly blamed her as he said "Could it be you're putting Minister Fudge in a poor spot with the laws, forcing him to go so far as to expel a young man who saved a life, purely out of your own selfishness and greed for the Minister of Magic position?!"

The other wizards on the Wizengamot gasped and looked at the woman, while Ms. Bones snickered on the side, looking at Cross with an amused expression. The woman was tongue tied at the accusations and opened her mouth, but Cross spoke again, looking at Fudge "Minister, you have helped me before at the Triwizard tournament. I cannot watch you be put into a corner like this! Allow me to remove this woman with wicked intentions for you!"

Ms. Bones coughed and turned her head stifling a laugh, Harry watched the commotion with wide eyes. Fudge slammed his gavel down and said "That won't be necessary, Mr. Greengrass. While I appreciate your kind intentions, Ms. Umbridge has no such plots."

Cross smoothed out his suit as he nodded and replied "Very well."

Ms. Bones decided to put an end to the hearing before Cross acted up again as she said "Those in favor of conviction?" nobody raised their hands, after everything Cross just said they would really look like they were trying to get rid of Fudge.

Cross had place him on such a high pedestal, the only other option was to drop the charges, maybe even award Harry for saving a life. Plus none of them wanted to be the next to be accused from Cross venomous mouth.

Ms. Bones smiled and said "Those in favor of dropping all charges." everybody raised their hands at the same time. Cross stood up and bowed slightly to Fudge as he said "Have a good day, Minister. Thank you again." before turning around and leaving the courtroom.

Cross looked at Harry and flashed a sly grin before walking out the door and disappearing. He had school soon, he needed to get all his things ready.
