17 CHAPTER 17: I'M NOT GIVING UP SYLVIA
Kim Eva resigned from looking for him and decides to go back inside.
She walked to where her bag was, picked up and headed to the changing room to see Josh.
CHANGING ROOM
COACH: Nice work out there boys, you showed them once again you deserved to be champions forever. I must specially commend you Josh, you proved yourself as the best of the best and you Chris as a relentless Lion sadly you'll have to miss next two games till you're fully recovered.
(Kim Eva enters)
KIM EVA: Err... Excuse me! Sorry for interrupting you guys but I need to speak with my brother.
COACH: Give us 5 more mi...
KIM EVA: Please! I don't mean to be disrespectful but it's urgent.
COACH: Ok! But be fast about it...
KIM EVA: Thank you! (Forces a smile)
(Josh goes to meet her)
RANDOM TEAMMATE: Hey Kim, mind hooking up?
KIM EVA: (Raises her two middle fingers with a sneer)
(Everyone in the room laughs)
JOSH: Hey!
KIM EVA: Hi bro, you were really awesome today I just couldn't help go wild you just put the ball in the post with ease making everyone...
JOSH: Kim!
KIM EVA: (Grinning) Yes?
JOSH: Is this the reason you called me out here?
KIM EVA: Not really but I have to compliment you first, you were sensational today.
Josh: Thanks, but go straight to the point.
KIM EVA: K, it's Rex.
JOSH: What about Rex?
KIM EVA: I'mma start from the very beginning so you've got to listen carefully. Earlier today Sylvia and Rex had a short talk so I eavesdropped so I heard 'em she was like (demonstrating) so I've decided to get a personal tutor and he was like good for you and she'd be like you think so? 'Cause you're the one and he was like sorry?...
JOSH: Kim....
KIM EVA: She decided they start today by 4 pm and...
JOSH: Kim Eva!
KIM EVA: Yes?
JOSH: Would you please stop beating about and hit the nail at the spot already and try to speak more slowly?
KIM EVA: Alright, Rex saw both of themmmmmm.... kissssssssing today after the gammmme... and got upset, not letting me even come closer to himmmmm.....and...
JOSH: Oh Kim, for love of God try to be normal!
KIM EVA: (Pokes him chest) it is you who should try to be normal and listen attentively!
JOSH: Alright, lemme get this straight Rex has a crush on Sylvia and he saw Chris who is her boyfriend, and got jealous. Right?
KIM EVA: Exactly what I've been trying to tell your dumb brain!
JOSH: Do you have an idea of where he might be?
KIM EVA: At the dormitory maybe or somewhere else I'm not aware of since I didn't see where he followed.
JOSH: Alright, we should go look for him.
KIM EVA: No, we can wait till tomorrow and besides you need rest, (pushes him back inside) You should go freshen up I'm waiting outside here.
JOSH: (shrugs and pouts) K!
NEXT DAY
Rex and Kim Eva sat on an empty swing in the field as they discussed.
REX: It's my fault,
KIM EVA: how?
REX: If I didn't let my emotions override me I wouldn't be like this now, I think I'm insane.
KIM EVA: (Sighs) Oh Rex, I understand how you feel but you should know you're absolutely fine and what you're facing right now is also totally normal.
REX: You think so?
KIM EVA: Yep! Life can be unfair to us sometimes and your present situation is not an exemption you should know that.
REX: I'm being tormented by my f geteelings because she's now my weakness.
KIM EVA: What you're experiencing is called infatuation,
REX: what about it?
KIM EVA: You tend to like someone very much that you get almost crazy about such person but over a short period of time ranging from 1 day to 3 months.
REX: What if it exeeds 3 months?
KIM EVA: Then bruh, you're absolutely in love. In as much as I support you to go for Sylvia, I'm still afraid.
REX: Why?
JOSH: Her boyfriend!
(Rex and Kim Eva turns back and sees Josh)
REX: Her boyfriend?
KIM EVA: Yes her boyfriend.
REX: Why do everyone around me keep warning about her boyfriend?
JOSH: Because he's dangerous, he doesn't mind or have pity when he's about to deal with anyone who messes with or around his girlfriend.
KIM EVA: The worst of all is that he can't be expelled since he's in his senior year of highschool, meaning he literally might still keep tormenting you without any drastic punishment.
REX: I'm not giving up Sylvia, not just too soon!
KIM EVA: Then I hope you have the guts to stand her boyfriend Chris.
REX: I don't think I care,
JOSH: but why would you still want Sylvia when you have been told how dangerous Chris can be.
KIM EVA: I'm really scared he's already beginning to love her,
REX: (Looks at both of them) I'm already loosing my sanity so when it comes to her I'm not really sane at that moment.
KIM EVA: Do you think you can stand Chris?
REX: (Smirks)
KIM EVA: This is not the moment for that kind of gesture Rex, you are close to trouble and you're busy smirking? (Pats his shoulder) I hope you get over it.
REX: Err whatever, I need go get my practical note before the class that is to hold in 20 minutes
Rex approaches the boys dorm and just at the hallway he sees the same thing that happened the previous day. This time, he didn't move an inch, he just stood there watching them; his fist tightens, his eye lenses begins to crack and turn yellow. Suddenly a hand taps him from behind he turns swiftly...
JAX: (Screams out of shock) Whooaw!!
REX: (Regains his sanity) Sorry if I scared you a bit.
JAX: (Whispers) you call that a bit? You looked like you would rip off my head!
REX: I'm so sorry, it happens when I'm angry... I...I couldn't control myself (Places both Palm on his head)
JAX: (Looks at the direction of Chris and Sylvia talking) Oh! I see... You should control yourself next time or you might do something drastic. (Taps his chest lightly before leaving)
REX: You wanted to say something?
JAX: Forget it, it's nothing,
REX: K! (He looks at the clock, it was 3 o-clock meaning he was already 10 minutes late to the time for biology practical class) Oh no!
He runs to his room which was 10 rooms ahead. He swing the door opened...
JAMES: (Adjusts himself quickly) Dude! Can't see I'm busy here? (takes a piece of cloth to cover his lower region)
REX: (covers his eyes with a palm) I'm so sorry about that but I'm in a hurry right now.
(He moves to his table and begins to search for his book but couldn't find it)
REX: (Turns his head halfway to James) Did you see my biology note book?
JAMES: Yeah, (picks the opened note from his table and throws it to him) sorry about that, I was glancing through it.
GIRL: (Yells at Rex) Out!
REX: I'm already going chill, (hurriedly picks up the book and dashes out of the room forgetting to close the door)
JAMES: (Yells) The door...!
REX: (Turns to close the door and continues running)
10 MINUTES LATER
BIOLOGY LAB
Rex runs quickly and enters the lab before the door was shut
MR FORD: You are late!
REX: I'm sorry sir!
MR FORD: (Points at a corner at the extreme) There! Join Sylvia she has no partner.
REX: S-sorry?
MR FORD: You heard me, make it fast!
REX: Yes sir.
