Chapter Fifteen- Sakura

Living in the deep sea is quite peaceful at least compared to land. Well that's what I've been told by my older brother who's currently away searching for the lost queen of the mermaids.

"Sakura! What in the seashells are you doing swimming this far away from the castle"

A stern voice interrupts me from behind as it begins to crack no doubt because of his sore throat. Lily a much older man than even my father, but he still carries a face of youth like me. The rumors say the past queen favored him a little too much. As vulgar as it may be I guess the teachings of how to please your mate payed off in his defense. It's naive to think she actually loved him everyone knows if you play your cards right you will be favored but only till a next pretty little thing becomes a new exotic. That's why you always have to level up one's skill set to became valuable so if someone does come by they will be nothing more than an experience and not your replacement.

"Yeah yeah old man I know don't sway to far away unless you want to become pray only the strongest gets the pleasure of visiting such territories" I snap back irritated by his constant scolding. Eyes glaze over as I imagine my sweet escape to my favorite hidden spot not even my dear brother knows about.

"You know Sakura while violet is away searching for the lost new queen you shouldn't worry your uncle too much y'all boys are the only ones left after well you know…"

What that a rogue tiger beast had a feeding hay day on my long lost dad that I don't even remember…heh yeah kinda hard to forget that old man.

"I know that okay you don't have to keep reminding me! Look I'll stay away from land so was this all you needed to tell me or was there something else?" With a heavy worn out sigh Lily looks at me with a tired look. With a look like that the illusion of a youthful man shifts to a man tired with life how's he still alive is still a mystery considering how his mate is long pass.

"I've seen you grow from a babe to a young man you are no longer no guppy Sakura you and your brother violet you are good boys, so I've come to leave you advice when the new queen comes back home don't stand out a life with someone like her is a horribly lonely one..well if she is anything like the last"

Words like that would get anyone calling out blasphemy, but his words aren't lies it a sad truth. Everyone wants a mate but once your in it can be hell. He was the queen's favorite but how he got there wasn't no clean path for sure he walked a tainted line with a staircase painted in blood that only leads forward never back, for there was nothing back there but only a cliff to one's end.

" I guess a life favored wasn't what it was glammed up to be?" Lips tilted up with helplessness he stays silent as he ponders and with a chuckle he shakes he's head no.

"Maybe you can survive but you cannot love if all you want is a glamorous life you must pay your part but it will be nothing but a job with no love in it other than the rewards" and with that Lily says his goodbyes as he turns around to leave becoming nothing more but a far away silhouette in the distance.

I'm sorry Lily but I have to go against your best wishes for you see I want that glamorous life I will survive and thrive. As for love I don't mind a fake version of it, to be favored on and adored like you were was a miracle. A miracle I plan to symbolize as well. Now time for my cave with no more damn interruptions.

Well I guess I should've been more careful after all a beautiful cave like this would definitely gain an attraction. Also she has 3 mates I can't exactly cause a fight, but seriously two snake beastmen? aren't females supposed to be revolted by them. Though on another note I will admit this Ares person is a bit pretty, such a shame she screams broke.

Also they better not make fun of my name us mermen are more classy than plain land beastmen!

"Yeah your welcome and as for my name well since you told me your guys name I guess it's no harm in saying it…Sakura don't laugh okay it's not a girls name obviously it's a guys name too!"

Floating around the pool of water looking at the ceiling seeing the blue spores reminds me of orchid that damn punk. I wonder if him and violet are still fighting like the heathens they are?

"Sakura? Are you hungry Quinn just got done with making dinner do you want any? It's chicken meat on a stick with some fruit" tilting my head to the side eyeing the food on a stick I ponder….hopefully the future queen screams richness unlike this female. To think this is all her mates can do for her sighing to myself I began to pity her choices in life.

"I shall take it but you don't need to worry about me I can take care of my own meals" seeing her eyes widen from my response I quickly realized my mistake… I forgot to thank her for even going out of her way to give me this…

"Thank you for your consideration, but I will like it if you keep your distance next time you need to speak to me just tell your mates to relay the message okay?"

Sorry no hate to you Ares but I don't want you to possibly ruined my chance with my future wife in the foreseeable future.
