9 A guilty Innocent

"Huh?"

I muttered confused. I turned to Professor Banyan, shocked. What's going on? She then turned to me with a somber expression. "I'm really disappointed Lydia. You're such a promising talent, you had the potential to be one of the best mages in Anthurium. But you threw away for not even that big of an advantage."

I took a step back, surprise written on my face. "What are you talking about, advantage?" I responded. "Don't play dumb Miss Raven, it will get you kno where. Please remove the enhancer from your pocket." Nonsense there isn't one in my pocket. I started to feel around my robe until my eyes widened. I slowly reached inside my pocket and took out what I feared most. There in my hands was a small enhancer. "Why is this in my pocket?" I mumbled a voice shaky.

I quickly looked at the Professor, "you have to believe me, I Didn't put this in my pocket. Someone had to slip it into my pocket" I begged desperately. No this can't be happening. My whole body started to shake and my chest started to hurt. It felt as if my heart wwas being ripped apart. All my hard work for nothing. I felt tear prick at my eyes. No I will not cry, willing my tears away. Then I felt a hand on my shoulder and back supporting me. "Lydia you have to breathe." I heard The professore whisper. Yes, I need to calm down. "Okay" I mumbled.

Gaining my composure I stood up straight, then Professor Banyan took a step back. SHe looked at me again and heaved a sigh. "I believe you Lydia." "Wait, you do!?" I squealed, full of hope. "Yes, It wouldn't make sense for a Raven to lie or cheat." Aww that's right, Harper has a big reputation here. "But there's nothing I can do, you'll have to be disqualified" My face fell and my body sagged. "I'm sorry Miss Raven, you should head out now" professor Banyan comforted. "It's not your fault, I'll show myself out now" I replied sadly. I started to walk towards the exit. I'm pretty sure I'm still in shock and probably very close to breaking down. I kept a smile on my face not wanting to cry.

Once I left the room I closed the door immediately. My body then collapsed against the door "i'm fine, i'm fine" I repeated to myself. Then I put my hand on my head and started to manifest some magic energy. A few seconds later a smile spread across my face. "I'm fine," I said again, starting to swiftly sly away from the academy.

Once I got in the next door city, Chamomile, I landed on a random roof. "I'll be fine,I Just need to prove my innocence with evidence, yeah I got this" but I sounded as if I was convincing myself. "I should go back home" I murmured but I didn't end up moving. I decided to just sit down and rest for a while. "I'll figure it out," I whispered again.

After a few minutes of rest I heard running below me. "Ha! You're cornered now!" A voice below boomed.
