1 Chapter one 'The secret'

Valerie rose to the sound of bustling outside of her door. What time was it? Sunshine shone through the curtains of her room- if it was before seven she would have them flogged. It was not often that Valerie took kindly to being woken up early. Eventually, she hauled herself out of bed and walked over to the mirror. There they were in amongst her long silver curls. Oh god why. One flick of her wrist and they were gone. Thank god no one had walked in! The sound of knocking came from the door. "Dammit my eye!" Valerie muttered as the door swung open, she clapped a hand over her left eye.

"Good morning your majesty!" said Hestia the cheery lady's maid.

"Thank god it was you and not someone else. Can you please lock the door Hestia". She couldn't begin to imagine what would happen Darrell or Azrail walked in. Once the door was locked, Valerie uncovered her eye. "Has your eye got any better you majesty?". It had indeed not got better what's so ever. You could still see a.ring of red around her pupil in her golden eye. It was begining to speed throughout her Iris. "No did you bring the tonic?".

"Yes your majesty".

"Good". Valerie took the tonic and downed it in an instant Hestia was the only person of the court who knew her secret. "Can you select and outfit for training Hestia I plan of doing nothing else today so don't make it fancy like you usually do". Valerie narrowed her eyes at Hestia. She knew all to well how Hestia usually dressed people and it Usually involved not alot of clothing. After Valerie had approved that the out fit wasn't to revealing Hestia handed her the clothes: a white lace crop to, a black zip up jacket, which she rolled the sleeves up of, white three quarter length trousers, black trainers, bandages that she wrapped around her hand ls to stop her knuckles from splitting in combat and an eye patch to cover her left eye. She would need he r wings to aid her in training but for now she would keep them in as most people of castle couldn't fly. She didn't need to become even more of a freak show than she already was. "Your majesty do not train for to long, we still need to get you ready for the banquet". The door shut behind her half muffling Hestia last words but it sounded like we need to get you looking hot for your long line of suitors. It would be a loud argument before actually persuading Hestia to even let her wear clothes. She couldn't believe that she had been ordered by her prick of a Father to make attend another banquet. Anyway she would be able to take out her anger in the fighting arena.
