Chapter 3

Is he dead, did Freya, the famed assassin kill him to get to me or is it Shawn again. "What happened," I ask dangerously low.

"He was attacked in the middle of the night," she says.

I punch the wall of a stone tavern that crumbles to the floor as blood pounds in my ear and my taste buds want to drink Jacob's killer's blood. I huge Jada gently as people stare at me in horror just like Tinion, I jog away to the Crest Library that should've gotten Jacob's death letter by now. I still can't believe Jacob is dead, he always helped me when I'm in trouble. My acolytes struggle to keep up with me as I take turn down the streets 3 times to the library as more people stare at me with fear, I finally reach the library, so I run into the metallic red building, I take a shoulder glance at my acolytes, who have bent at the race holding their knees trying to get breath into their lungs. I head into the library that had 10 people reading while 20 other talk about a way out, I would talk to them, but Jacob's letter is what I need right now.

I walk up to the counter that had a women wearing a lapis lazuli dress with red glasses over chocolate eyes, she looks at me and asks, "welcome to Crest library letter department."

"Pickup from Jacob for Tyr," I answer.

Immediately, a letter floats to her hand with red wax shaped like a T, she hands the death letter to me as I struggle to hold every emotion in, I feel anguish for his death, but I also feel blood hungry for his killer's blood. "He was good person, he helped me with the system," she says.

I nod at her, I turn and walk out of the library to the open streets in front of the building. The kids look at me like they understand my pain, but I don't need their pity. "We do know what you're going through, we lost Andrew, our mentor to Shawn," Alex says.

"We better go to the guild house for your marks," I put a fake smile on my face, so no one asks what happened.

We walk to the guild house that wasn't far since I picked it only 3 blocks away from Crest Library for easy information, I speed ahead of them causing the 3 kids to run in front of me. They try to speed ahead of me, but I take off to the guild house that has a double winged eagle painted banner on it. I take a sharp turn into the guild house's lobby to see Leona putting Leo in a headlock on the couch, what is happening right now, I laugh in my head as Fabio's raspy voice says in my head, "Leona lost her potion in your basement lab and she thinks Leo took it."

"Wait, she was in my basement lab, did she touch any of my poisons," I reply to Fabio in my head.

"No, I concealed it with your shadow mist," Fabio says.

"Leona, two things: never go into my basement without my permission and you probably left your potion in your room," I step in the living room.

"I checked my room," Leona grunts as Leo tries to wiggle free.

"Fabio says it's in there," I responds..

"I'll check again, but just in case," Leona kicks Leo's balls.

Leo grabs his testicles as he slides down to the ground biting his bottom lip holding in tears. Leona skips up the stairs with satisfying smirk on her face, I look at Leo and I comment,"you should heal in a minute."

I go to my courtyard that was hidden with a bookshelf, the courtyard was filled by blood red flowers and pure white flowers that glowed brightly in my presence in the dark garden, I feel calm as the flower absorb my tension and stress of not getting out of the game. I walk to my usual spot in the courtyard which was a wooden bench facing a pond that swims with schools of fish that range in vibrant colors, but one monster was my prize catch that took me 3 months to catch. The monster had a turtle head and shell on its neck, but its legs was a long slimy tail like a leviathan's. The creature that I call Shadow since he moves fast if he wants to, swims close to the bench and cocks his head to the left seeing my 3 little companions, who still followed me. Can't they leave me be, I sigh angrily, I turn to them and I ask the three kids, "can you guys go to the living room and let me read the death letter."

"Sure, but remember we know what you're going through," Alex says smiling.

Her brothers nod and the three siblings walk away to the exit as I open the death letter, the letter had a Lily drawn on the corner of the bottom right -the flower of Death- I let a tear slip from the corner of my eyes.

I begin to read Jacob's last words,

"Dear my apprentice,

Don't cry, be strong, I was killed by women with a cloak with a lily stitched on her cloak. She part of something dark and malicious, be careful and brave I believe she wants you dead. Her name is dark and evil, but if you say it you become her target next, please stay safe.

From, Jacob"

I close the letter which grows hot in my hands causing me to drop it, the letter shapes itself into a Summon Card. The card stopped glowing and had a blank front and back with Jacob the Beastmaster, I threw the card up and said "Obaris"

The card morphed into a silhouette with two whips in both hands, the silhouette crouches down on the ground, it stands wobbling a little in the process. When the monster looks up, I see the face of Jacob that smiles as I gasp and choke back tears that were brimming my eyes. "Jacob," I start to say.

Jacob hugs me and whispers, "let it out."

That was all it took for me to be crying in his embrace, Jacob strokes my head gently whispering reassurance, I straighten up and ask, "Do you know who killed you"

"Do you really want to be killed," Jacob says rhetorically.

He has a point if I take his killer on now, it would be suicide. Jacob hands me a piece of paper and says "read it when you're ready to face her."

I put the paper in my back pocket for later, I say, "thanks."

Jacob nods, we walk out of my courtyard to the living room, which was Alex occupied with her Hix which was like a dizi and a ocarina combined. She played the blue painted instrument mournfully like a death song, she soon turned it upbeat by playing it faster, she breathed after a couple notes which I presume is the end of two measure. She plays it slower, a black orb begins to form in front of the instrument's end, she held the last note softly as the orb disperse into specks of black aura as the note ringing stopped. She opens her eyes and blushes at us "th-they're downstairs,"

"Nice song Alex, how about we go downstairs to my training room with the others," I suggest.

"Okay," Alex says.

We walk to the foyer which was only an open doorway away, I go to the bookshelf next to the stairs that had my raid tactic books pressed tightly on the shelf, so much that it drooped a little in the middle. I pulled my Raid Tactic 124 edition from its place on the shelf, the shelf slides to the right to reveal the sextuplets and David with my other acolytes, they were slashing at Shadow wolves, the wolves' sheen black coat shined beautifully in the room light. I grab a tomahawk from my satchel, I close my eyes and I focus my mana on the tomahawk, then I throw the axe at the biggest shadow wolf that I reason is the alpha, but it was only a Beta wolf that howls in pain, a larger wolf tackles me. I shield my throat with my arm blocking him from killing me, I stab my wrist mounted blade that was spring activated, the Alpha didn't go down, but he was weakened to 75% health with a burn aftereffect. I kick him off me and I scramble to a vertical base, the wolf uses his remaining strength to charge, but I spin out of his reach. I focus my mana to call my bladed mana chain whip, Prophecy appears in my hands as the wolf charges again, but I'm ready for it. I whip the chain at the wolf's neck and say, "Dissect."

Prophecy wraps around the Alpha's neck tightening around it's silver fur neck with a whimper as blood bleeds slowly, but the chain tightens until the wolf crumples to ash. His pack soon to become ash at the lost of their leader, I turn to the family of seven and my acolytes. "We need to make money for raid equipment and our guild city," I tell them.

"We could raid a Tree Inugami cave," David proposes.

"That a little high level for kids, who in level 30," I say.

"They can offer support and use offensive magic," David suggests.

"What you guys think," I sigh in defeat.

The kids think about the question, Alex answers first and says, "I'm in."

"If sis is in, then Jacob and I are in," James says.

Jacob was going to say something, but was silence with a cold stare from Alex, Leona clears her throat and says, "We're in, right guys."

She looks at her siblings to her siblings left and right menacingly, I snort back a laugh as Leo and his brothers nod quickly while his other two sisters hold Leona's stare until they break it after 2 minutes. Lana flips her chrome yellow to the left and crosses her arms with a huff, Luna flips her off, I guess in this family the girls are the boss. "I have some armor from the old days," I tell them.

I walk to my bookshelf that not only hid my practice room, but also hides my other rooms, I pull a book titled 'the guide to making a vault'. The bookshelf slides to the right, a metal eye snakes up to my eye and scans my iris for entry, the shelf opens all the way for my guild and I to go into the guild vault that had a lot of chronus from my winnings from Leona and the sextuplet's match. I find my auto equip closet buried a little in the chronus pile, I lift the closet out from the chronus with my air control and I set it down on the ground, I turn to the sextuplet and I tell them, " all of you enter the wardrobe."

They enter the wardrobe to come back out in a minute with Pidnea leather armor set and accessories to boost their needed stats for their classes. Luna and Leona's vest had hoods for concealment, Leo, and Leon wore a vest like a butler with a dress shirt underneath and black combat boots, Lana, and Leone armor was the same design as their previous armor. Lana's Kimono was now leather with beautiful glowing runes swirling around the cloak. Leone wore his crying silk mantle cloak and his knuckles that were actually small shields with tiny sharp prongs around the edges, I nod at their equipment. "Well, lets go to the garage for a carriage," I tell the guild.

"Let's go then," Leona drags Lana and Luna to the living room that has the garage side entrance.

The boys and David walk after them while I walk briskly to the living room, I walk into the warehouse-sized garage, the guild were facing a gold and royal blue victorian carriage that I bought from a old guild called Twin Arrows. I grab two horse whistles, I go to the front of carriage and I blow the whistles causing shadow black horses to appear attached to the carriage, their eye sockets were occupied by purple flames that stared into my soul probing my mind to see if I'm worth of them. I give the shadow black horses a empty look with my shoulders squared, they neigh in approval like they were saying 'he's worthy'

"How did you did get Shadowmares, i thought you had to kill Shikami in the Tahq Forest," David asks

"I'm a beta player for a reason, I know where to look for Shikami," I answer in a 'duh' tone, "get into the carriage, I'll hook the horses up to their harnesses."

I hook the horses to the carriage, I put my hands on the coachman's seat and I hop onto the seat, I grab the rein to the horses and I whip them up, then down. The horse start galloping slowly as they start to increase their speed to a run, I maneuver the carriage through the crowd of people to get to the southern gates. We make it to the back gate with only almost killing twenty people, The gate open upward, I snap the reins, the horses start galloping again. The forest mostly was occupied by level 98 monsters, the most common would be Moss Imps, I jump from my coachman's seat and I open the door to the carriage as white haired family walk down the carriage's stairs. "Lana, play a cajole song," I tell Lana.
