15 For More Power

Daryl was loving staying with the Grayson's because of two things. One, Nolan was an alien like him and quite strong too. Sometimes they could spar in the clouds or outside of Earth's orbit and they would go full on beast mode. They had unknowingly destroyed a meteor that was about to hit the Earth and the size of it was that of a football field. Unknowingly, the two of them had clicked right away because of their upbringing. Both of them were brought up in a militaristic way of life meaning that even if they were strong, they had tactics and sometimes low morals.

"How are you able to breath in space?" Nolan once asked him as they settled for a beer after a spar.

"I don't. My cells just keep getting revatilized by the star's radiation. In fact, I don't need food, water or anything else. You?"

"We Vultrumites can hold our breath for a long time. But some come equipped with breathable air," Nolan answered. "Tell me, what would you do if a race as strong as Vultrumites attacked Earth?"

"I was brought up been taught to protect humans and I took the name Guardian because I want to protect them. So, I would kill every last one of them," Daryl answered before turning to look at Nolan. "Is that why you are here on Earth, Nolan?" The big man winced and refused to look at him.

"Let's just say Vultrumites are a hard headed race. If they set their eyes on a planet, they will do their best to take it. Your arrival means our chances might be diminished," Nolan said then looked up at the sky. "You have been holding back while I was going at it with my all."

"I definitely have. I am different from my race. While they grow stronger with radiation from the sun, I grow stronger by it and any force or energy subjected to my body. Let's just say your punches have enough kinetic energy to make me grow stronger with every hit," Daryl answered. Nolan chuckled wryly then got up.

"We have to head back, Debbie is cooking pork roast toady," he said, signalling he didn't want to continue speaking about the matter. He then flew off and Daryl followed, quickly catching up with the man. They arrived his house in minutes and he went to change while Daryl just sat at the dinner table.

"You need to wash up," Debbie told him.

"Don't worry, re-entry burnt away any bacterias I might have picked up if the radiation in space didn't," Daryl answered her. He had found himself increasingly fond of Debbie because she could cook. His life in the other Earth was filled with military dry rations for food so the greasy, salty food she cooked was a treat and his stomach was a black hole. Nolan came back with his civilian clothes on and sat down. Debbie served him first then Daryl, Mark hadn't come back from work.

Daryl had mixed feelings about Mark, especially now. He knew Nolan's reason for been to Earth and he wasn't sure that Mark could agree to be included because he was raised up as a human. If Nolan wanted him to join, he would have raised him like a Viltrumite, he was the best example of this. He was raised as a soldier and those lessons are hard to forget because they are imprinted in him from young. He couldn't live as a normal civilian ever because of this. Speaking of the devil, the half alien boy walked into the house, his lips morphed into a smile.

"Guys, guess what?" Mark asked, making the three of them look at him with frowns. "I finally got my powers!" Mark was so surprised he stood up, or that's what everyone else but Daryl saw.

"Are you sure?" he asked Mark who became cocky.

"I just threw a trash bag to space so yeah," he answered then turned to Daryl. "How about an arm wrestle to see who's stronger." Daryl smirked and put out his left hand.

"Feel free to use both hands," Daryl told him, unconcerned, as he continued eating. The teenager got hold of his arm with both of his and tried his best to move it but it felt like an unbreakable mountain he was trying to push.

"How are you this strong?" Mark asked in surprise and a little bit of sulking.

"You thought I was weak? Jeez, kid, you are wrong in so many levels," Daryl mocked him.

"Kid, we are the same age!" Mark grumbled and sat down to eat. Nolan has been quiet all this while before he turned to look at Daryl.

"Can I talk to you outside?" he asked and was already heading out before he took to the sky in a blur. Daryl frowned before he followed him. They both stopped when the city below was just a giant glowing dot.

"I have a favor to ask of you," Nolan said.

"What's the favour?" Daryl asked with a suspicious frown.

"I want you to kill the Guardians of the globe," Nolan answered without missing a beat. Daryl frowned even more when he heard that.

"Why would I do that?" Daryl asked him.

"I will ask my people to search high and low for your people. Vultrumites are like space nomads, they know the universe better than any other race. Also, I cannot do it because it will be suspicious,"

"And it will not be for me? I am an alien as strong as you according to Earth's archives. I am sure even the dumbest people will start suspecting me," Daryl answered.

"What do you have to lose? This isn't even your Earth and you will be gone when my people find your planet," Nolan tried to encourage him but Daryl wasn't budging. "How about a new bargain then. You kill them and I will tell you the location of a colliding star. The energy from such a phenomenon could make you grow stronger than anything else, right?" Daryl looked at him with a frown.

"You do realise if I do that I will be strong enough to slaughter your whole race on my own, right?" Daryl asked him.

"All I want is to buy myself a little more time. With Mark's powers coming, I think my time is running out and more Vultrumites will be arriving. If they find the Guardians of the Globe still active, they might even kill half the population along with me in order to compensate for it," Nolan answered. Daryl thought for a while. If he could be hit with the energy from the colliding star, he would become more powerful than before and he would be able to defeat the Vultrumites and all he had to do was kill seven people. He then looked at Nolan.

"Okay then, leave this to me," Daryl answered. "How did you plan on killing them exactly?" Nolan gave him a red button.

"This is their emergency meeting call button. Once pressed, they will gather back in the HQ. If you want to do it in descreet, I suggest you do it there." Daryl took the button then flew away. Nolan looked at his vanishing figure then flew back to his house.

"Where's Daryl?" Mark asked.

"Sent him to space to pick you up a present," Nolan answered.

Daryl arrived in the Guardians of the Globe HQ and immediately pressed the button. After that, he vibrated his whole body till he became invisible even to speedsters' like Red Rush. After a few minutes, they started to arrive one after the other until the last one, Dark Wing, finally came on with his hover board.

"Dark Wing, why did you call for us?" Mr Immortal asked.

"I didn't call for the meeting, I thought one of you did," Dark Wing answered.

"Oh my God, is something wrong? Something's wrong, isn't it?" Green Ghost worriedly asked. The other members started quarreling. Red Rush, having his hyper perception always on, was looking around then he suddenly rushed towards Mr Immortal and pushed him away. The man was quite shocked when he saw a fist just pass where his head was supposed to be a second ago. The others looked at the newcomer with frowns and their frowns became even deeper when they saw he was wearing a mask with no eyeholes and a ski suit all over his body.

"You're fast," Daryl said to Red Rush before going after him. Red Rush and him started going round the room in a red and black blue for a few seconds yet the two had run laps all over the HQ till Daryl caught up to him and with a single chop of his hand, the speedster's head was lobbed off. Due to his strong body, Daryl's hand were like steel blades, can cut through anything.

"You bastard!" Mr Immortal shouted and went towards him but Daryl had another target, Green Ghost. He ability to phase through materials was the perfect defense to an offense opponent, good thing he could phase too. He appeared in front of her, making her surprised but her senses were still at work for she immediately phased but he vibrated his hand before plunging it into her chest, killing her instantly.

Aquarus roared in anger before shooting a high pressured blast of water at him. Daryl just sped out of the way before getting hold of the humanoid fish from before then dried his brain with his lasers, killing him. Daryl then put his corpse over his head where a morningstar came down and plunged into the humanoid fish's chest. Daryl threw the corpse upwards, sending War Woman flying away but then, Martian Man wrapped himself around him, tightening himself with each could like an anaconda.

"I'm gonna kill you!" Mr Immortal roared and punched Daryl whose head didn't even tilt.

"Pathetic," Daryl said with his voice still distorted before flexing and Martian Man screamt in pain before he was ripped from Daryl's body, deader than dead! Daryl then turned to the remaining weak member, Dark Wing then fired lasers at the man. Dark Wing tried to evade them but he underestimated how fast Daryl was and he was cut in half.

"And then there were two," Daryl said, facing both War Woman and Mr Immortal. "Any last words?"

"Who are you and why are you doing this?" War Woman asked.

"Let's just say I am doing this for a bigger picture. I apologize but your lives were needed for it," Daryl answered.

"It doesn't matter, we will take that mask off of you and we will know the answer," Mr Immortal growled.

"You can try," Daryl said in a relaxed manner.

Author's Note

If anyone can guess why he was wearing the mask with no holes and a full skiing suit I will update another chapter as soon as possible. Also, for those who will start saying that he is not acting as a Guardian, all I have to say is that someone doesn't change suddenly. He starts changing gradually and I want Mark to be the person who gives him the hero spirit. To be honest, I would rather have Mark or Spiderman to be his hero senpai than any other hero out there. Mark for his brutal but humane way of thinking and Peter for his kind way that would help him listen up.
