42 Alice Vs Mutant Isaac

"Whoa, hold on a sec! I thought you were trapped in some crazy experimental circus or something." As Carlos spilled the beans, Jill's eyes widened with a mix of shock and relief.

"Is it finally over? How on earth did you end up joining forces with this bunch?" Jill's face wore a puzzled expression, clearly wanting the deets on Carlos's unexpected alliance.

Jill's face didn't exactly radiate sunshine: "Well, after you bid adieu, I got snagged in Detroit. They slapped this spider tech on me, and after that, it's all a blur."

Carlos, the comfort guru, chimed in: "Hey, it's cool. Trust me, this place is like the Fort Knox of safety."

"Wait, so you're telling me they won't turn me into a lab rat?" Jill still seemed a tad anxious; after all, Umbrella's reputation wasn't exactly sparkling.

"Nope, we're not in the habit of turning folks into lab rats at our cozy little base."

"So, you've taken the superhero serum, right? The thing Ren... those two folks with me were packing. It's like a superhero juice overdose, right? You handled them like a walk in the park. Is it all thanks to that magic potion?"

Carlos gave an affirming nod: "Absolutely, but let's put that aside for now. Come with me to see Anjie; she's been missing you like crazy."

Fast forward to the evening, and Carlos escorts Jill to Sean's spot.

"Doc, the duo is in the house!"

"Um."

Looking up, the reunion was anything but ordinary.

"What's the game plan for the future?"

Jill shrugged: "I dunno, the world's gone topsy-turvy. Frankly, I'm clueless about what's left for me or how long I'll be around."

"So... I've got a gig for you. Interested?"

.....

Meanwhile, back in Alice's world. She's infiltrated Isaac's Vegas lair. T virus, chaos, and a rampage. Isaac, infected and on a killing spree, while some lucky researchers managed to escape.

"If the base's AI hadn't stuck him in the basement at the last minute, things could've gone from bad to worse."

Armed and ready, Alice faces the ominous dark base. Isaac is lurking somewhere, waiting for her grand entrance.

Lightning flashes. "Huh?"

Suddenly, a gust of wind, a sidestep, and a near miss. Alice realizes she narrowly dodged an attack. A monstrous figure stands there, half-human, half-mutant – the once-human Dr. Isaac.

"I used to think you were the future, Alice, but I'm the real deal. Immortality, self-healing – you can't fathom how amazing this power is."

"Turning into a monster, Alice? Never thought about it?"

Isaac's expression turned glacial: "What do you know? It's merely a facade. Compared to evolution, this is nothing! Now, here's an opportunity for you—either join or... face your demise."

"Go to hell."

Alice relentlessly squeezed the trigger, bullets raining on Isaac's body like a relentless storm.

Bang bang bang! Smoke wisped from the muzzle as a fresh magazine seamlessly replaced the spent one.

"How can this be?"

Isaac appeared unfazed. Every injury swiftly mended, even the bullets forced out by pulsating muscles, dropping to the ground.

"That's why I claim to be the future of mankind, Alice. You have no clue what you're missing. Hehe... Hahaha!"

Isaac cackled manically. The bullets Alice had fired moments ago were now being pushed out by his regenerating muscles, wounds closing rapidly. This strength was the future he envisioned!

Even a head wound couldn't stop him. His mutated right palm had transformed into something resembling black meat strips, radiating an eerie black glow.

It regrew instantly, appearing next to Alice in the blink of an eye. Without the R-1 drug coursing through her veins, she would have been too slow to react. Perhaps this time, it would pierce her brain. Her hand moved instinctively to block.

The meat strip impaled Alice's arm, causing her pistol to clatter to the ground in agony.

Undeterred, Isaac advanced. Alice was the perfect experimental subject. If he could infect her, it would bring him immeasurable assistance.

Terrified, Alice retaliated, pulling her right hand behind her. A Nepalese saber descended, severing the meat strip embedded in her left arm. She staggered back, groaning in pain.

"Isn't this an exquisite sensation? Trust me, you'll experience more."

Bang bang bang! Isaac charged toward Alice, his T-virus-altered body growing even larger. Each footfall echoed with the sound of cracking tiles.

Before reaching her, his mutated right hand swung down. The meat strip, as rigid as steel, shattered anything it touched.

Alice dared not confront it head-on, rolling skillfully to evade the lethal appendage.

But with each dodge, the arena's confines became more apparent. How long could she avoid the inevitable? There was a ticking clock until she would be caught.

Suddenly, as Alice retreated, her foot found an unexpected depression. Unable to dodge in time, Isaac struck again, severing more of her flesh. The situation had become dire.

What to do? Panic set in as her eyes scanned the surroundings, searching for anything that could turn the tide.

In agony, Alice knew she couldn't continue like this. If Isaac dragged her down, the death toll would be catastrophic. A monster like him couldn't be killed conventionally. Her eyes darted around, landing on a familiar place.

She spun around and sprinted into a narrow passageway. But Isaac wasn't about to let his prey escape. Though infected, he retained his intelligence, albeit now consumed by a murderous desire.

"Run? Where do you think you can run to?" he taunted with a sinister sneer.
