I can't do it.

I can't go inside there.

What if they recognise me..?

Then, you ruin them.

The voice in her head said.

Amayra started panicking thinking about the worst that could happen to her. You would think she is standing in front of the gates of hell....well for her it is hell...BUT for others it is a heaven.

THE HOPE ACADEMY...situated at the farthest corner of the state Rysterbia was the prestigious academy that was a dream for every child. Children of businessmen and businesswomen that were destined to take control of their family businesses and were going to be responsible for running this state, studied in this prestigious academy.

Only 5% of its seats were reserved for normal and ordinary students and though the rules were very strict in the academy, money spoke louder than the morals.

To the people on the other side of this gate, Amayra was just some dirt on their shoes, little did they know that she was their worst nightmare.

Breathe in...

Breathe out...

She tried to ease her nerves and come of out of her panic attack. When she felt a little better, she glanced around her surroundings for the first time. That was her first mistake and she didn't even enter the academy yet.

A guard was watching her like a hawk. His beady black eyes made him look more scary to Amayra.

"Hey girl!! What are you doing here? Trespassing is not allowed here. Now get lost." The guard shouted at her.

She felt like a kid Who had been caught stealing a cookie.

"I..I..um..I am not trespassing. I am a new student here." She stammered, her voice sounding strange to her own ears.

"Are you sure? I don't think so. The enrollment date was due a month ago. What if I am a guard huh..? I know about the rules of this academy. Don't try to fool me." He said angrily, his face twisting into a sneer.

"You can confirm. My name is Amayra Vice. I have recently moved to this town."Amayra replied nervously.

He stared at her for five seconds with a narrowed gaze and said"Alright. Wait here."

Amayra silently watched him talking on the intercom. As he talked, she saw suspicions leaving his face.

I can go in now.

She thought.

The guard came near her, his face still twisted in a scowl and asked her to go inside.

With every step, Amayra felt like someone has tied heavy weights to her legs. Every step she took left her suffocating. She slowly took in her surroundings.

She climbed the stairs slowly feeling out of breath already. As the stairs ended she saw she was standing at the beginning of a hallway with cream walls and a high ceiling. There were pictures of students who once attended the academy and were now famous businessmen. She recognized most of them as she walked ahead. Amayara saw the reception desk once she reached at the end of the hallway.

She reluctantly approached the reception desk. There was a women seated behind a large mahogany table. She looked like in her 40s. With a red blouse and her auburn hair tied in a decent bun and glasses perched on her nose, she was busy typing something on the computer. She looked up when Amayra cleared her throat to gain her attention.

"Um..excuse me.Hi, my name is Amayra Vice. I am a new student here."Amayra said to the receptionist, quite surprised that she didn't stammer.

Mrs. Reeke , the receptionist took in her appearance and her face contorted in a frown which she quickly covered in a cautious smile and said " Oh, you are the new student. Very well. Welcome to The Hope academy darling. Give me a second and I will give you your schedule."

With that she started typing something on her computer and took a print.

"Come with me, I will show you your dorm and here, take your schedule."

Amayra took her schedule and followed Mrs. Reeke.

"As you have enrolled late..you will have to wait a few weeks to get your permanent dorm room. Mean while you'll be sharing one of the dorm room with another girl. I assure you it's a matter of just a few days. " Mrs. Reeke explained.

"Oh..No problem. I am sure I can manage." Amayra replied with a shrug. However, she was panicking inside at the mention of living with another person.

"Good..well your classes will start from the day after tomorrow.Although, you can use the academy's route app on your cell phone, I'll suggest that you be early that day and go through the academy building to by heart the routes to all your classes. I am sure you won't want to get late to any of your classes."

Amayra merely nodded in response.

After walking through a hallway , taking couple of turns and crossing a small ground they reached a new building. The building looked nothing like she imagined.

It was a red and white building with three floors. Two trees stood at both the sides of the entrance gate. She could clearly see the large row of windows.

She followed Mrs. Reeke inside the building and they stopped at the end of hallway at room no. 143 and Mrs. Reeke softly knocked the door.

After a few seconds, the door opened.

"Amayra, meet your roommate."

"Maya.."
