The Fall and Return of Humanity
April 24 2017, in the United states of America 6:30 AM. A man is woken up by his alarm clock. He lives in the suburbs and is about to go to work. He gets up, takes a shower, puts his clothes on, eats breakfast, brushes his teeth and goes to work at 8:30 AM.
He finishes work and gets back home at 5:00 PM. He goes on social media for a while and watches the news. On the news, they talk about people being found dead in their homes and the cops not knowing why. They all had something in common, their bodies were half eaten, as if they were attacked by a beast. The man watching sees that his neighbors are one of these dead people.
After a while, the man heard noises in his kitchen. It was around 10:47 PM, so he assumed it was a robber. So the man proceeded to grab his gun like a good American and went to make this dumb robber regret his life choices. When he got to the kitchen and turned the lights on, what he saw was not a robber.
"What the hell is that?!?"
It was a rat the size of a german shepherd, with razor sharp teeth, giant red eyes, claws the size of kitchen knives and a long tail twice the size of the rat-like creature.
Immediately the man started shooting the creature and ended up firing all his bullets. However the rat wasn't dead. The bullets didn't even pierce its skin. It was like getting hit by a 2 year old baby.
"No way, THIS IS NOT HOW I DIE!!!" the man shouted as he ran faster than Usain Bolt.
The 'rat' easily caught up to him and cut off his legs. Then it proceeded to have its meal and ate him alive. The man died by what can only be called…
A beast.
Three days later the cops found it and tried to kill it but failed. It took 6 shots from a tank to kill it.

May 3, 2017, in the Himalayan mountain range at 1:49 PM. Tourists had gathered to look at the spectacle of the biggest mountain, Mount everest. Suddenly, they started to feel some vibrations. As if there were tiny earthquakes every once in a while. And then they saw cracks on the lower parts of the mountain. The cracks were only getting bigger and the vibrations were getting more violent and happening more frequently.
After a while, a giant hole was made on the foot of the mountain and several Giants came out of the hole. These giants had a humanoid shape but looked more like ogres with their dark green skin and tusks. There were around 20 of them. One of them was twice the size of the other giants, he was obviously the alpha.
The Giants were nowhere near the size of the mountain. The alpha giant was around 120 meters tall, so he looked like an action figure compared to the mountain. The giants killed every human and animal they saw and climbed to the top of the mountain. A 10 000 km2 area of the Himalayan mountain range had become their territory.

June 4, 2017, in Indonesia at 2:34 PM. A volcanic eruption was about to happen and after a while, it erupted. But the ash and smoke had left far too early and instead of smoke and ash. There was just a giant red dragon with some black spots here and there.
It let out an all mighty roar that could be heard 45 km away and was able to cause small vibrations. When the dragon walked, it would burn the ground and the trees would be caught on fire. A 10 000 km2 area was completely destroyed by the dragon and it had become its territory.
They planned to drop a nuke but the dragon destroyed the plane before it could dismantle the atomic bomb. It blew up in the air and the dragon survived without a scratch

June 28 2017, in the mariana trench at 4:17 PM. A government funded expedition was taking place to explore the deep depths of the mariana trench. When they went deeper they finally saw the bottom. But then it started to shake violently, as if it was alive. After a while, they saw what was causing the shaking and it was something that no amount of therapy could ever fix.
"S-ir, i-is th-at the…
KRAKEN!!!"
They didn't even try to escape, they already accepted their fate and just waited patiently to see what heaven looked like.
The Kraken hit the submarine with one of its tentacles and smashed it into several pieces and ate everyone in the submarine. It then proceeded to swim up to look for more food.
When it came to the Legendary Kraken, they wondered if a nuke would work. So they dropped two of them just to be safe. It failed miserably and humanity was losing hope. A 10 000 km2 area around the mariana trench was taken over by the Kraken.

When the world saw the appearance of these creatures, they were terrified and multiple news stations and youtube theory channels were trying to figure out.
"IT'S THE APOCALYPSE!!! A DRAGON, THE KRAKEN AND A BUNCH OF GIANT OGRES!!! It's clear that they are the 4 horsemen of the APOCALYPSE!!! Who knows what the 4th monster is going to be" A man being interviewed in the world wide news stated.
"And what about the lesser smaller monsters that have been appearing as well?" The interviewer asked.
"The little ones are just mindless beasts. But these three could end the world by themselves. But they still haven't left the area they came out of, because they are clearly waiting for the 4th horsemen!" The man shouted.
"Do you have an idea of what the 4th monster will be?"
"YES!!! The Kraken came from the sea, so it represents water. The giants have come from the mountains, so they represent earth. And the dragon came out of a volcano, so it represents fire. So the fourth one will represent the air."
"Are you saying that this is like avatar the old children show?" the interviewer asked with a disbelieving expression.
"If you don't believe me then I don't care, I guess we'll just have to wait and see."

July 24 2017, in the Grand Canyon at 4:09 AM. In the deepest parts of one of the biggest tourist attractions in the world. A giant beast was there, sleeping. Had just awoken.
The beast got up and spread its wings, and flew out of the canyon. It was around 60 meters in height and could only be described as a wyvern.
A wyvern is another mythical beast. This wyvern is black and blue in color. The difference between the dragon and the wyvern is that the wyvern's wings are attached to their arms and the dragon's wings are on its back. The dragon is around 200 meters tall and the wyvern is only 60 meters tall. The dragon has thicker and stronger scales compared to the wyvern. The wyvern is far faster than the dragon and is more mobile. The dragon breathes fire and the wyvern breaths lightning.
The wyvern took over a 10 000 km2 area as its territory, and killed any intruders that came near it.

May 2 2032, on earth. After 15 years of the appearance of these beasts. More and more beasts appeared, but they were nowhere near as strong as the 4 world ending mythical beasts. However, bullets did nothing to them and only a tank or cannon could kill them, but it would take multiple shots which got expensive.
Over 95% of the 7.5 billion people died because of these beasts, leaving around 375 million people in their path of destruction and death. While beasts killed 7.125 billion humans, only 874 beasts were killed by humanity. Only 50 countries still stand compared to the previous 195.
But then, special people were born with the power to use mana. Mana was the energy all around us and these lucky few could control it to do all sorts of things that would have been impossible without the use of mana.
These people were called mages. Mages had a wide variety of powers, but only the more powerful mages knew special abilities. Some of them were feared because they had destructive powers. An entire army of 500 knights could lose to 5 powerful mages with these destructive powers.

May 18 2052, on Earth. Thanks to the efforts of these mages, for the first time since the discovery of the beasts, the human population started to increase in over 20 years.
They also discovered that the reason beasts were so durable, was because their bodies are covered in mana. They also saw that every single beast has a crystal inside of their bodies. They realized that they could make weapons and armour with the bodies and crystals of beasts. Because of this, non-mages could also go out and kill beasts. Everything was going great for humanity.
Most of the weapons and armour were similar to medieval times. So they couldn't make any firearms, so it was mostly swords, blades, daggers, spears, arrows, bows, scythes, etc.
The 50 countries that still remained had joined forces and formed 9 different kingdoms. 4 kingdoms in Asia, 2 in Africa, 1 in Europe, 1 in South America and 1 in North America. Since soldiers were looking more like knights than military men. They went back to kingdoms but they still had to elect a new king or queen so it had nothing to do with bloodline, and the king or queen was basically the president with a few small things they could do that a president can't.
In order to keep peace and teamwork, they made one school for mages that every single young mage from all the 9 kingdoms were to attend. There are 5 academic years and a student should be at least 16 to attend the first year of the academy. Because of this mages were only going to get stronger.
Thanks to the earth mages, they built giant walls around every kingdom to keep the beasts out so people could have a somewhat peaceful life. They only had to worry about beasts that could fly and they rarely got into the walls because of mages ready to shoot them down with their powers.

June 27 2082, on Earth. After 30 years, humanity was somewhat back to normal. Beasts still existed but they were no longer a big of a threat as before. The human population was now 500 million.
Most of that was because of Qi. Qi is the life force energy that everyone has and can be used to increase physical and mental strength. Qi can be used to enhance your strength, speed, stamina and durability or to suppress the effects of aging and hunger. When beasts first appeared they were people who knew of Qi for thousands of years and kept it secret from the rest of humanity. They came out of hiding and shared their teaching with the rest of the world. It was the only reason why they hadn't gone extinct and killed more than 800 beasts without atomic bombs. With Qi, beast weapons and armour could be made even stronger than they already are. So it was a requirement that every knight must know how to use Qi.
They even ended up killing the dragon that came out of the volcano. All the 9 kingdoms had joined forces to kill the dragon in 2065. They sent 50 000 knights and 150 mages, but only 51 people survived the mission. A new holiday was created to honor all the brave men and women who died in battle.
However, a new enemy had arrived. One who made even the 4 world ending beasts look like children.
